I gave up releasing a new wallet. btc38 and others are running a v1.4.0 and they or others in china are manipulating the blockchain. There's also two different forks. also if you sell with btc38, you must trade to yuan and then to bitcoin and when you transfer out of china it will take a week, then the transfer is submitted with an insufficient tx fee and your bitcoin gets stuck for weeks before you seeit again. I had a tx resubmitted 3 times before finally being picked up and confirmed. I have a 1.3.3 wallet that syncs fine but a test with a few coins never showed up in my btc38 wallet. I'm avoiding china.

Testing 1.3.5 now. Switch to DGW3 and staying scrypt for now. Asking for someone to compile windows and mac wallets as soon as I get done with updates. Please PM if you can help with wallets.

I'm leaving it scrypt for now and focusing on new wallets and code for donation deductions from block rewards. I'm wanting to go multi-algo using Scrypt and SHA-256 soon. I'll also run a node from my office and pay for a node hosting service. Other (non-smartass in nature) suggestions are welcome as well as any help you can offer. |

I realy like your ideas about the donations account I think it would be a good development for earthcoin. Of course such things should be completely transparant on the site to give trust. In the beginning of eac there was a premine (for the development of EAC if I remember correctly) there was so much discussion about that. It never became clear where it has gone, probably sold. As for the change in algo are there any risks or cons and how does the change go into work can you give more insight in doing that, should every eac miner stop mining script with the old client at once or can the different algo's run next to each other for a while? And a hurray for myself I compiled earthcoind.exe  We can run both scrypt ans sha-265 side by side. as the gpu miners fall off, we could go totally sha256. I have already participated in converting another coin to dual algo. The other suggestion would be transparent, democratically voted on and all information available on the website. |

I guess this could be an instant sell to bitcoin that is placed in escrow til year end as to not effect price of eac instead of a large dump once a year. tx fees could be raised or they could be left the same with a % of the block itself going to donations. Say, if the block reward is 3000eac, 2700 + tx fees is paid out and 300 go to donation account.

I may not be looking at this the same as many of you. I don't know...I don't really need to make anything off this. I'm just looking at it as doing something good. It is earthcoin.

My experience with gpus was x11 ran cooler with higher hash rates and less electric draw at the plug. Less electricity on the same gpu with higher hash rates is more efficient. Yes the chinese may still mine with asics whether x11 or 256 and dump but, I may stifle that a little by raising and taking TX fees and placing them in a donation account instead of adding to block rewards. Every so often the community can vote which organization to donate the funds to i.e... planting trees or cleaning up the ocean. It's less profit for the farms and if they still mine, their electric can contribute to a good cause. Though, less profitable to the rest of us also. Simple example at 10% at current market, we're talking a mere $.03 per block. 3 pennies. Over the course of the year at current price, it would be around $15000.00 to donate to a good cause. And, their are people out there that would mine for this simple reason. Maybe even raising the price a little. I would also be willing to put up a 0% pool just for this reason to help offset the TX fees.

At this point, anything new is a good thing in my opinion. I have long ago sold all my gpu rigs. It's cheaper to speculate than mine. At current EAC prices I'd have to solo a block every 3hrs just to pay electric on one rig.

What's the reasoning to change the algo? Scrypt is inefficient and dying out. Also appears the chinese are mining with asics and dumping at btc38. If we were to keep it gpu oriented, x11 is more efficient or move on to sha256. |

I've been looking for a dying coin to pick up...I think this would be a nice one. There appears to be people still mining and market cap still shows trading around $4000 per day. I have some ideas but, it will take time as I'm extremely busy. I would like to hear from others also. I now own earthcoin.us and can host the site on one of my personal servers. For now, keep mining and trading. Aaron

I thank zuldar and other new comers to smartcoin for their interest in smartcoin  dude I've been mining SMC since the first day it was released that's why I'm so p**ed off about your doge troll. I might just close what may be the only smartcoin pool cause of bitbets...he's about to freakn drive me crazy with his "go here and do this" shit. Damn, I'll pay someone for a new logo just stop it with the logo crap! The one we have is better than anything else I've seen. I don't even like coming here to check on things. Please. lets be friends and work together on smartcoin projects. Bitcoin has many different designs for the logo or currency symbol, and smartcoin can also have different designs as well. But bitcoin does have a unique currency symbol, and now smartcoin has a unique smartcoin currency symbol Everyone is invited to contribute and help in the process If it's adopted...you don't make those decisions, the community does! |

My original username is somehow locked and I cannot get a recovery email from this freakn forum nor a response from anyone that may be able to help, so I did what I said I wouldn't do and created a new username. I do not monitor this forum and I received no email for the first fork. I just happened to check in one night to see what was up. The second fork, I received an email after the fact on Sun, Sep 7, 2014 at 12:11 AM. Mind you I'm central time and this was the middle of the night for me. Block time for 117499 was Sep 6, 2014, 00:45:49. I see one user here has lost some coins. You need to contact me thru the pool. The contact form does work as bluecoiner used it to contact me.
My complaint is someone needs to contact us pool guys the moment the dev knows a change is coming. I make no money from this...to be honest it cost me money. The 1% doesn't come close to even covering electricity for my servers. It is simply for fun. That is why I'm only running 2 coins right now. I would add 2 more at most, any more than that might become work! Anyways, contact would be greatly appreciated and I'll keep the pool up. I do like this coin and believe the dev works hard to keep it moving forward. Thanks, Aaron
