1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SOFTWARE SALE LIVE] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: April 13, 2015, 12:23:54 PM
Great concept! I'm a supporter and early Factoid purchaser. I believe this may be the first "real killer app" that helps get Bitcoin into the mainstream.

+1

Factom looks cool
If I had the money, I would invest in it but that's not the case...
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GEMZ]| SOCIAL MESSAGING APP THAT PAYS | AirDrop Beta is Live | on: April 08, 2015, 04:45:41 PM
Just to answer your question (I think) there is a plan to be able to change the apps color.

The color actually is a a pretty smart move though as some focus has been on females who are bigger texters than males, apparently. Plus I'm not surprised we have quite a few Japanese followers I think which also makes sense cause asians (based on my experience living here) have no problem with pink for guys.

Okay thanks , Yes probably not a bad choice to make it attractive for girls but I want to change it, and I thinks many other men too ;-)

I would like to give a suggestion about the color... Please let us the option to change not only the background but also the app theme color! I'm not against pink but I feel like I'm a girl using this app!!!

App works nice though...greets
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anon POS | Ring Sigs | Decentralized MarketPlace (w) on: March 24, 2015, 09:41:36 PM
how will the marketplace offers be stored, what about the images/media and other info, how are they stored? I'm assuming your hosting each marketplace via the simple http server you have in your code? How is it decentralized hosting, that i thought was claimed somewhere about this coin?

As I understand the Shadow communication system, all the content for the platform exists in each wallet. That's the way the Shadowchat works- everybody on the network gets the message, only the intended recipient can read it or is alerted to it.

This may eventually create a bit of of bloat and I can foresee the wallet and its content getting very large after a while, but there is no free lunch.

^ this .. However the beauty of it running on the ShadowChat P2P network is that we have full control over data pruning ... So no bloat!
How is the data persisted? Like if there is an offer in the marketplace it essentially is only in your wallet and the html interface just shows it? Would another node be able to sell your offer in his marketplace?

Good you guys brought this up again as I was wondering this myself still..

On the subject of blockchain bloat, I saw this interesting post on reddit earlier: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/301r4e/crypto_primitive_shorter_than_current_monero_ring/

Adam Back I guess has suggested a way to decrease the size of ring sigs by about 1/2 of what they are today. May be interesting to some.

I think there are other anon solutions with bigger problems regarding the blockchain bloat then shadowCash ... I'm definitly waiting to see some more info and comparing into this... Ring sizes are already smaller I think, only I see could be way to many rounds are possible...
I'm not a professional at all but the more I read , the more I believe the tech behind sdc is pretty good.

I was into this project because of this, I was exploring the new tech , the nice wallet, delivery was on shedule etc and it looked all pretty cool.

I sold all my remaining stash last week.
I'm out
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SDC] The Shadow Project | Anonymous POS | Ring Sigs | NEW HTML Wallet 1.3.1.0 on: March 14, 2015, 04:02:01 PM
The problem with converting back will fade away I'm sure about that because today I was able to convert the remaining 90k.
Tech of shadow works great, only some experience with the tokenization system is needed ...
You have to use the 'chain data' section and look for the inputs you own...

For the people angry about pump groups --> You really think there's still something else in alt-coin land??? Even Bitcoins market cap swings between 2 lines till mass adoption comes. (Which they are pretty good working on and will definitly come)
We are several years stuck in this way of handling, groups are just trading against each other so I can't see the problem.
Small investors working solo only's choice is to invest in a project with a future like BTC and go long and you will survive the swings.

Alt-coins are a test platform for future bitcoin hardfork to 2.0 so only one or other anon platform will survive I think because bitcoin won't go this anonymous at all because they have to stay conform with regulations etc.
Maybe some social platform if supported by the big firms out there (facebook, game-industry, ....) will go mainstream.

Yeah some words of the guy scammed 3.2k you'll say... I don't care what you think, everybody thinks whatever they want.

Feel free to remove the post to save your member and it will go to the BTC talk

Hey guys

I told some people in IRC I'll start being active in the forums again.
I just want to thank you all for your patience.

Isidor is still busy with the review, and has asked us to give him a few more references, as he feels the system as a whole needs more documentation.
Its a great idea, so we'll try get documentation going for others to see it as a more complete crypto system.

Awesome! Keep it up Ryno  Wink

Nice to see you in the forum!

someone is in a hurry to get out of SDC.  who knows something the rest of us do not?

It's a rule! It happens all the time, so until now it made me a lot of btc. I can't say the same about other coins.

Ethercoin is one of those 2, between 550k and +750k ... Last week I was looking to for it 2 go under 500k  2 buy/sell but I decided not to take the risk anymore.

There's some gap between seeing it and doing it I noticed in daytrading, I'm a long trader (Or holder if mass adoption is coming like bitcoin)

Every SDC Address has a new private key, however because this SDC Address was generated by sending coins to a "stealth address" aslong as you have a backup of your wallet when you created the stealth address you do not need to back it up again. All future SDC addresses created by sending money to that "stealth address" are covered. This is a bit like a HD wallet but not quite ...
Obviously you can never be too careful so backup as necessary.

Quote
It seems like over time I will have hundreds of keys and stealth/public addresses in the wallet.

Yes but as per above, if the funds where sent to a "stealth address" then it does not matter as you can re-create those SDC Addresses and corresponding private keys from your stealth address backup.

Okay thank for the help.

Question:

Don't want to test this or search for it so just asking it:

I've updated wallet.dat after I made x(amount) of regular addresses, stealth,... but what with the tokens??
The tokens don't need an extra update of the wallet because they're linked with the stealth address or am I wrong ??

I don't mind the dumping, it gives me quite possibly one last chance to get a few more sdc under 20k.

I'm still sulking about the fact I didn't sell my full stash last weekend to buy/sell ethercoin so I could have doubled my SDC stash ... To bad, ether is going down back for the moment... a new opportunity, but I'm realizing myself I'm to afraid to sell my sdc for a trade...

You dont want to miss the big boom its understandable

Yeah I have 2 keep them, I already did 2 many crazy things...
