1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 23, 2014, 11:04:58 PM
That being said it's going to take months for the crypto kingdom game to start effecting the market as its only at the phase where the XMR whales are buying CKG at the moment with their hoards.

At present the average buyin per character in the game is 180 XMR, and about 75% have spent from their existing stash.

When Version 4: Economy (2015-1-18) launches, the modest target is to have 1,000 players. (It has been online for 2 months already by then). The sales of ingame gold by then amount to 500,000 gold (about 130,000 XMR). In addition the characters may acquire other items perhaps worth 20 XMR per character (about 20,000 XMR). It will not yet be a great influence with these numbers, but:

a million = 1,000 * 1,000.  Grin

are there going to be competitive aspects to this or is it going to be more like 2nd life?

when u hit the detail bar with your thumb - it drops down the addresses to copy/past/etc (sorry for bad quality ... just had paint)

Pictures taken on Nexus 5.

The first thing that stands out to me that needs adjusting is Xchat. The conversation section is too small. The light grey text is somewhat hard to read as well.

I am liking the look and feel so far. Even though this is just a UI preview, I am beyond excited to have this on my phone.

Thanks for Sharing!

I don't think the address is relevant to show the user all the time, rather it should be something you swipe to open. Also will there be an option to SMS the keys?

I agree. With the addresses hidden, the chat box could be brought up, and enlarged.

it might make sense to put the pic of group participants or whatever underneath the input box.  reading and typing out replies would be next to each other instead of split up by an inch.

having to move your eyes as little as possible while in a chat convo seems like good ui design.

just my .02

it would be pretty badass to allow people to set up betting taverns around NFL sunday, soccer matches etc in this game.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 23, 2014, 07:20:47 PM
why does it make sense to "defend" if the goal is new users?

some people are more likely to buy at 135 (value driven) and some people are more likely to buy at 600 (hype driven).  you want to attract both types ... why artificially set ANY price if ur goal is adoption?

don't you think your money would be better spent "defending" after a massive surge pushing it down to new lows?  there are TONS of coins hitting the market every day (one days worth = a MASSIVE selloff)

it's easier to soak up and "defend" if it goes lower.  plus more adoption.

Protocol =/= price and why so much trolling?

because according to rptellia - a little drop in price or it not going up like he thinks it should = destroying o.O

in honor of this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=771925.100 i open it up for discussion.

is monero destroyed  Cheesy
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 23, 2014, 06:13:10 PM
sidechains aren't a threat to what monero wants to be / envisions itself as which is another bitcoin.

so yea ... guess i can see where ur coming from.  still say sidechains are a legit threat to all altcoins.  except that bitcoin moves so slow and is so political that it will never happen.  until another altcoin probably completely overtakes bitcoin and it's too late.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Blocknet] The internet of blockchains / XBridge / true cross-chain P2P on: October 23, 2014, 06:08:40 PM
Do any of the blocknet team have any thoughts on this?-https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=826263.0
Would it be possible to incorporate this into the blocknet?

the blocknet is like a network.  what you are looking at in that link is a programming language implimented into a coin.  it would make more sense to put that on xcurrency than the blocknet.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 23, 2014, 05:41:06 PM
whales give and whales take away.

somebody must have read the sidechains article.  or maybe moolah dude finally figured out how to operate an xmr wallet.

in my opinion there is a year of bleeding on this coin.  or at least six months.  just let it happen lord and savior jesuschristrptellia.

many tears - maybe if it gets dumped hard enough it will attract enough people to become an alt someday instead of just a holiersmarterthanthou circlejerk among early bitcoiners giving blowjobs to each other.

so you don't start with $5,000 worth of APEX and end up with $2,500 worth of APEX

this is one thing I don't get.  my assumption with the other one (supernet? all out scam by jl777 dude to let him offload his assets wout tanking the market) was that this was why they were getting 10% of the coins to somehow have like a ripple effect of those 10% of coins always being available.

Put in coin A at current coin A/B price -> do coin B stuff with coin B that net owns -> exchange back for coin A without having to go to the exchanges.  it still seems like they'd run ou of popular coins and have too many of unpopular coins.

but it gets really fuzzy in my head.

Lol.  supply and demand people's - no grand conspiracy.

Whales is only why it was ever worth more than .001 at such a young age.  whales give and whales take away.

somebody read about altchains and got scared off.

whales and 20K xmr a day is a bitch peoples o.O

where's the xmr knight in shining armor at?  lol!

Big dump, and then big pump!

ha!  that "dump" was 1 days worth of xmr emissions.  how about big dump, more slow bleeding, bigger dump

I have posted this:

How on Earth are you "respecting the possibility that hype could lead to overbought conditions during the ITO and prompt a selloff that harms investors"? You are trying to squeeze as much juice from investors as you can by offering huge IPO. You are NOT respecting the possibility of a selloff, you are creating that possibility with your enormous ceiling, 24h marketing and hype (and that fairytale story of 400-900% return). By doing this you are lowering post-ITO demand as investors that support you will be fully invested when the ITO ends.
Stop with the PR and marketing and bring some real development before the ITO.

My post got deleted as being uncivil. I am becoming increasingly concerned. I was thinking of investing however this dictatorial approach is really scary.

Tell the other side of the story if you want to stand a chance of being perceived as fair:

It's not a matter of my not respecting your views, it's a matter of your being abusive and aggressive.

Ask questions in a way that respects the people you're addressing, and everybody will benefit from your perspective.

Dude.  that's exactly what he said.

And we're not interested in having a squabble, so you get booted out.

Which is why you have a circle jerk going on in your thread rather than productive discussion.  & you have a very critical public facing thread in the more visited area of the forums.

Gotta keep the circlejerk going to keep people from dumping.  But on the other hand - the issue of not actually accepting negativity has forced it elsewhere.  Which keeps new money out of XC.

Funny how I always look for unmoderated threads if I'm contemplating an altcoins legitimacy now.  Why would I come "alongside" a community?  Truth doesn't come alongside anybody.  It sits there like an elephant in the room and pisses people off as they howl in pain at lost retirement accounts while Enron drops form $200 a share to .20.

It's the position you take up against the community those who try to sell new ideas & without finished & proving existing projects.  You don't come alongside them, you talk at them. aren't nice to rainmakers trying to pad their own pockets with press releases and trendy buzzword rather than provable (opensource) substance.

When people are trying to raise money for an IPO involving (some) scamcoins - pardon my skepticism and lack of constructive criticism.

Open source the project you took premine money for.  Bulletproof it, make it multi platform.  And you'll find me less of an antagonist.

Try to raise a million dollars money by joining shitcoins + scamcoins + one or two legit coins when you refuse to open source your current project?  Yeah ... sorry.  I'll be honest about how I feel.

joebob999, it is deceitful to make out that revelation (or you, for that matter) is speaking "objectively".

It is not an issue of objectivity, for two reasons:

- revelation is being uncivil, not specifically untruthful. It's not a matter of objectivity but of respect for others.

- people have subjective viewpoints, not objective ones. So revelation couldn't "speak objectively" if he tried. He's not God.

Finally, you've behaved utterly awfully in the XC thread. Take this to heart, because it explains why Teka banned you from it.
You'd be fooling yourself if you think of yourself as a righteous and "objective" protester against "censorship". Get a grip.

I was speaking specifically to where the (more) objective audience (those who are willing to tolerate open free speech about a subject) can be found.

Bringing God into the subject as the only one who can be objective, and bringing manners up to try and defend censoring relevant talking points (not pure trolling) is cute.  You are good at re-directing  into a philosophical debate to take focus off the issue at hand.  No doubt you have a collection of Fedoras, roast your own coffee, buy organic & like raw tea so kudos to you smartie pants.

I'm more of a cigar, whiskey & bottom line type of guy with a nose for bullshit who doesn't care for practical discussions being sidetracked by pointless philosophical talking points.

@Revelation, your post history is a stream of abuse and negativity.

You pretty much just don't post constructive, respectful things.

Kindly be civil or leave this thread.

@Revelation - I would recommend this thread if you want to speak objectively, not be censored & have the audience of the entire altcoin section rather than just those who frequent the XC thread.

The wallet is released and it is 100% working decentralized trustless mixing, which has been demonstrated several times and a visual block explorer was built showing how complex the anon system really is

I'm sorry.  But without actual code review by the community - I don't care what factors from the outside looking in are used to measure the supposed "anoniminity" of a coin.  It isn't enough.  It's like a code review of 400,000 lines of code by one developer in six hours.

Sure.  He looked at it.  But regardless of his experience level - it proves nothing about the security or trustworthiness of the coins claims.  How many "code reviews" and external factors have been looking for exploits in Windows?   Even with thousands of developers spending millions of man hours "code reviewing" it - it STILL isn't secure.

Software that needs to be secure (in this case anoniminity needs to be secure) is not considered so until it's open sourced.  Period.

Quote
all your doing is spreading FUD because I won't open source it.  Here is proof http://imgur.com/h8rFt5U or just go download the wallet it test it for your self

Stop it with the FUD accusations.  Legitimate concerns are NOT FUD.  Saying "I have the best anoniminity technology on the market.  Even though my coin is 20th on the market cap and I haven't open sourced it yet - just trust me" is MUCH more misleading than the "FUD" you accuse us of.  How about we just drop the terms FUD & SHILL and hold each other accountable to try & discover the truth about any given coin / technology?

Quote
2nd - the trustless anon & xchat was developed after XC's ATH price, so its not a stupid pump game, its real technology, combined with Xchat, which is real tech developed in-house, not a cloned CINNI EM system.

Again.  Until it's open sourced no one knows.  I have a hunch that it's probably modified code.  Or terrible with lots of holes.  Because the fact that your coin is 20th on the market cap with like 4 legit contenders - some of which have passed you in the last three month period while your coin has continued to fall.  Screams that you need legitimacy more than you need other coins to not clone you.  So the "I don't want clones" doesn't really hold water.

Quote
3rd - I'm NOT involved with any scam coins so stop making false allegations
Again.  Lets worry about the truth - not what paints who in a bad light.  The BlockNET is including coins with developers who in the past have left "investors" out to dry by promising technology and then delivering far far less.  Then move on to the next promised project / pump.

I view this as no less than a scam.  The fact that you are working with these developers to try and bring value to both their coin and your coin makes you "involved" with these coins, no?

In fact - haven't you kinda made a living by selling the "legitimacy" of XC to pump other coins?  Isn't that all this is - just on a much bigger scale?

http://xc-official.com/xcurrency-code-reviews-the-de-facto-standard-of-legitimacy-among-altcoins.html

You're using the fact that you can create pump on small coins as a marketing technique?  The reality / truth looks more like this

Blocknet includes multiple developers, but ultimately Dan is the mastermind behind his platform.

This is another way of saying "Dans primary focus will be on BlockNET"

How can you say "Blocknet is a genius idea worth 2500 bitcoins.  And will take a genius to build.  And that genius is Dan.  But it won't slow down XC (Dan's current primary project) at all?"
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XCurrency (XC) BlockNet community thread on: October 22, 2014, 01:23:23 AM
Damn dude.  That's pretty insane.  I've seen you do nothing but post slightly concerned alternate opinions.

Got a feeling they're getting desperate - I don't know why but I'm almost convinced they are.  If i was a betting man - I'd say they used the blocknet announcements to buy up worthless coins before adding them to the blocknet list then dump

XC has dumped like 20% since the announcement and I just have this gut feeling that someone out there could knock it down 50%.

The problem is there are no buyers for closed sourced anon.  There is too much competition.  the reality is that if there is legit code - the danger is MUCH MORE of becoming obsolete / having the shit dumped out of you than being cloned.
