1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / MyBitCoin gave me less than 1% of my bitcoins on: August 09, 2011, 06:34:59 PM
I'm in the same boat as a few others on this board I believe.  My mybitcoin account was pretty much empty before (0.0099BTC), but then I transfered 5.05763753 BTC to it at night on July 31, 2011.  This transaction shows up on block-explorer which should confirm the BTC was sent to my mybitcion address, but, the claim form does not show my 5.05763753 BTC deposit.  Links Below:

Block Explorer: http://blockexplorer.com/tx/26e45eec065b4a45b977064d11c22ef6f6b2ebf28e9fe26316e8cd4c87bb6530#o1
Mybitcoin Username: codyrbrown

Is this the correct place to be reporting such issues?  Should I be reporting this at a different place?  If Tom Williams reads these forms then sending 49% (2.47BTC) of my real balance to the "Claiments Bitcoin Address" listed above, for the mybitcion user listed above would be much appreciated.  Claiments Bitcoin Address: 1FXs6QNsyFxP4ARno4m1oDHnyurJJs18FT

Note: I did receive the 0.0048 BTC "refund" successfully as per screenshot above, but now when I access mybitcoin claim it just says you have 0 funds.

Also BlockExplorer says "Not yet redeemed" for my 5.05 transaction.  What does this mean exactly?  Just that MyBitCoin hasn't used any of the coins yet? or does it mean MyBitCoin hasn't even accepted the payment yet "orphaned funds?)?  Or cannot tell?

Thanks

Just wanted to say I for one don't have much complaints with btcguild *I think ad-funded sites are tacky/1990's though*.  At the very least my "24 Hour Rewards" at btcguild is 99% of the time above the "Reward estimation PPS: X.XX BTC/24h" at deepbit.

I realize the PPS has much higher fee's to negate the risk, but, it makes me happy.

Remember to check your balance.  It looks like transfers that occurred a day or two before mybitcoin went down are not showing up in your balance eventhough block-explorer confirms the money was transferred to the address.

On a side note, do you know where one reports such issues?

Thanks, this topic helped me in the past as well.  Keep up the good work.

I see most here stating the restrictions are not high enough.  I'd like to say the opposite.  Bitcointalk should be about communication.  I find forcing new users to spam five posts in this forum degrading.  It potentially leaves a bad taste in the new users mouth.

I understand the problem, but, there should be a better way to approach it.  For example limit one account per IP type thing.  Tor/I2p/Proxy users would be sad, but, that is where 99% of your spam is coming from in the first place.  Alternatively if you detect a multi-ip account (aka from Tor) then force them into the "newbie" class and to jump through these (even more restrict) hoops; fresh/first IP users should be exempt from this and go straight to JrMember.

Hi, I have been around here a while but mostly as a silent observer.  More active in the IRC channels.  Had a need to talk about MyBitCoin, but, found out this form isn't a "sign up and talk" type thing *unfortunate*.

Anywhere here I come.
