Aren't those transactions reversible? And doesn't Neteller now allow you to sell bitcoins directly? Less risky than selling here and risk being scammed.

If I have a time machine I'm going to the future by now, In the future humans will be immortal.

That, or dead. Maybe AI's will take over the world once they are developed enough and there are no humans around. Or some other extintion scenario will happen. The future can be a dangerous place. Smiley

Ghosts don't exist.

But souls do.

I believe in reincarnation, so I tend to believe that soul is immortal and changes the body when body wears out. That's why some people remember incidents from their past life.

That's a very hard thing to prove. And even if people somehow manage to remember or know incidents from the past they wouldn't normally know, that knowledge could still be obtained through other means.

I think the OP created this thread to talk about the book he mentioned, not to get recommendations. Smiley

I have an interest in the subject, and it just so happens that I've finished the book I was reading today, so I'll give that one a try. Thanks for posting this.

I guess it's true an AI could pose an existential threat to humanity, not only because it might see us as a threat, but also because it might not even share human values at all. However, I don't know how he plans for those regulations to come about, or even be effectively implemented. I mean, I think we can all agree that if an AI can be created, someone is going to create it sooner or later. Probably the military is going to do it first, considering the benefits it could potentially bring to them, but the resources to do so will eventually be at the disposal of a lot more people as technology improves and access to it increases. Or, who knows, maybe it will be created accidentally like in ghost in the shell. Smiley

But I do agree with him on the rest: once someone creates it, there will likely be no way to control it.

Well guys it has been a tough fight. We will see a constant rise until we break the ATH of 2012. Should hit around the same time this year possibly earlier.

You say it has been a tough fight as if it's over and there's only one direction to move in, which is false. The ATH of 2012 was around $32 and we're way above that right now. Unless you mean there will be constant dips until we hit $32, which is unlikely as well.

I think he meant 2013. I'm not sure we will see bitcoin at over $1000 this year, but I believe we're going up a fair bit, with all the good news that have been piling up. So maybe $600, $800 a coin this year?

I always pay / donate for software that is worth, but I can't imagine to pay for music that otherwise I'd never listen to.

While surfing at Youtube etc, If then I discover a good artist that I like, I don't mind donating to it / going to live concerts etc. But I am not going to pay for a CD, they just rip the artists and the clients.

Depending on where you are from, you might already be paying for music you don't listen to. Some countries have a private copying levy on recordable mediums (cds, dvds, pens, hard drives, etc) which goes to copyright bodies:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_copying_levy

I'll just leave this here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e91q5BtlxK0

When the game detects you're running an illegal copy, it spawns an immortal scorpion which follows you and kills you troughout the game

This is how we should battle pirating, it's a million times harder to crack it + way cooler Cheesy

I don't believe that's much harder to crack (once you know it's there), and though amusing, it's a stupid way of dealing with the issue. You already have millions of people copying software, and if you think that's a problem, you should look into why they are doing it, and address their concerns, not try to keep the status quo at any cost.

I will go back 80 million years ago. I like to watch live dinosaurs.

Did you mean: I like to feed live dinosaurs?

I would go back a couple hundred years and use my knowledge to rule the wo... I mean, improve society.
