1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Slimcoin : Proof of Burn NEW BLOCK GEN, Mineable by low power computer! on: October 02, 2014, 10:58:21 PM
Thought it might be possible to get the private key of the address that sent to the burn address out of it.

Whatever, I'm spending my time on something more productive than bitcoin again. It appealed to my technophiliac side but ended up being a hobby that just cost money and didn't return anything other than a really bad experience in the bitcoin community. (bitcointalk being one of the worst places of them all) I don't gamble on the bitcoin price either so I'm kinda done.

Have fun anyway.

If anyone tells me how and is interested - I'd sell my wallet file with ~2000 burnt slimcoins.
I'm out of this.

Seriously if this crap forked again I'm probably going to leave it.

I try to run the wallet at all times but this is just ridiculous. It's a gamble on this coin ever succeeding, using my time. Doesn't look like that is ever going to happen. Maybe someone implements a similar feature in a new coin. But I think there are other PoB coins out there already.

It sucks that I've lost a bit of money here. Put in a little.. but this is bitcointalk. Where hope goes to die and scammers thrive.
I bet the original dev cashed out while it was possible. Now there are literally no buy orders anywhere.

edit: almost forgot to ask- anyone else getting a checkpoint error even though the blockchain seems to be up to date?

Always had that.

I'm getting crashes again. Frustrating. Dev is a jerk for starting something and then just letting it die. (Probably after cashing out just like all of them.)

this was my blockchain from 6 sep, syncs great when you place that one in your %appdata%

https://mega.co.nz/#!mQYxlCoQ!fQqJbRCe9CGHLrOkYCrUpwBoxyhzfIEbk1ULf-Qy30c

i could make a new one, but going to bed first lol

That worked, thanks!

Let's see how long it takes for this to crash.
Abandoned project much?

Price on BTER basically went down to 0. Only very few bids around.

Thank you.

It just crashed again using yours @pantheist.

I'll remove the blockchain and try with @rfcdejong ones again.

Edit: Now I don't get any connection at all. (after deleting the blockchain and using @rfcdejongs config) What is wrong with this coin?

@rfcdejong

Could you please post your .conf?

Using
Code:
listen=0
maxconnections=8
addnode=76.127.202.17
it crashes after a few minutes again.

I have a few k burned as well and don't get any because it's crashing all the time.

It was more stable with
Code:
-maxconnections=1 -connect=76.127.202.17
but the node seems to be down, if I start like this I never get a connection.
