1  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why cloud mining is a zero sum game on: October 08, 2014, 01:35:06 AM
Starflyer, where did you buy your cloud mining contract? It is very important to use only good and reputable cloud mining providers. With some random and unknown company you can be in wrong hands. Not to mention they can scam you.

I got the vouchers off ebay for CEX.IO -- I know maybe it was a silly thing to do.  Sad The way I learn is I jump right into things. But I only invested $10 so there's no big loss if it doesn't work out. I figured I might as well just keep them in there and let it do it's thing for awhile.

Thanks all! Great info here. I appreciate it. I suppose the only reason I would care to have an offline wallet is because I worry about online accounts being hacked, that sort of thing. There's a little risk in everything I suppose.

Lol, are guys so easily manipulated by pretty girls? Seriously?
See, now I'm doubting you are a woman.
Women learn by puberty that they can control men with just a smile.  You are either a guy or very ugly.   Wink
(P.S.  I am a guy, and very ugly)
all women in internet forums and online games are either guys or very ugly. Or are selling sexual services, like SexyBTC
No exception
I'm not a guy.
I'm not very ugly (in my opinion lol)
I'm not selling sexual services
Maybe I'm the one exception? You always have to allow for exceptions : )

Same here! I'm not a guy or ugly or selling anything or trying to scam anyone. I know a little html and built a few okay sites, but I don't have the brains to be a hacker or anything like that. As it is, I'm still trying to wrap my head around bitcoin! But I found it interesting and thought I'd see if I could figure it out.

For the offline wallet - is the information stored on the computer software itself or as a file? Would I be able to back up the wallet (file?) on an external hard drive? Will it appear in Time Machine (should my laptop crash or something)?

Also, if I store my bitcoins offline, does that mean I have to transfer them at home before I can use them for payment somewhere? Or is it meant to just be stored away for long periods?

Hii!
Just wondering if there are any fellow girls on here who are into Bitcoin mining, trading, etc. It seems it's mainly guys. We are roughly 50% of the population of this planet yet I can't find any girls who are into Bitcoins, anywhere.

Everytime I try to mention Bitcoins while hanging out with girlfriends they always look confused and change the subject, yet they're not "dumb girls", they've been to Uni, spend a lot of time online, have paypal acc's, online banking, etc. Why are they so reluctant to hear about Bitcoins?

ME!! I'm super new to the bitcoin world and I don't know anyone in real life who has heard of them so I'm kinda just relying on the internet to learn about it. Smiley
