1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FTC][STRATUM] [0% Fee] feathercoin.is-a-geek.com Pool on: June 08, 2013, 08:34:40 PM
According to my Transactions Log, I started mining at block #33398, though it does look, now that those shares have been credited. The earned shares were far less than expected, though. (400+Mhash for 18 hours...) I don't pretend to fully understand the reward system and all the changes that've been going on in FTC...

I'll trust ya, for now at least. Wink

48 hrs later, still no change.

Did the rewards system change and my puny brain just doesn't understand it? Or did the difficulty peak or something?

4  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Vince's graphics card store. Selling all Radeon graphic cards Bitcoin & Litecoin on: April 17, 2013, 04:30:45 PM
Why buy your cards when I can get an identical card on NewEgg for cheaper?
5  Economy / Services / Excel Guru, at your service! on: April 16, 2013, 03:44:32 PM
Need help with your complex Excel project? Maybe you're creating some ugly nested formulas, or trying to write a Macro to tame your data downloads. I can help!

I am a data analyst by trade and an Excel contractor on the side, so I have the best of both worlds: an understanding of how people want to transform their data, AND the underlying knowledge of statistics & analytics to back it up. I have created a plethora of user-friendly Excel "programs" which take data-downloads, reformat, perform data analysis, and create beautiful graphical representations of that data. I have an eye for aesthetics, and a quest for ultimate simplicity in every tool that I create.

I've worked for a wide varety of clients: Real Estate Appraisers, Corporate Lawyers, Investment Groups, and I've even been hired by other freelancers who just needed help with Excel. If intereted, I can provide a link to client feedback on my oDesk page, such as this one: "I thought I was good with Excel, but [Jix] is a genius. He makes short work of projects that would take me days."

I typically change my clients $60/hr, but I am willing to work substantially cheaper for bitcoin. (Due to high volatility, we can negotiate a price on hiring, but it'll be closer to $40 - $50/hr.) While there will always be other contractors who will offer to work for less, the level of service and quality you will receive from me will be second-to-none. If you're apprehensive about hiring hourly, I'd be willing to livestream or screen-share my work for auditing purposes. US-based, and a native English-speaker, available by Skype or phone.

Looking forward to working with you,

-Jix

Hello, not sure if you're still looking for someone to help you with this project, but I am definitely interested.

I am a data analyst by trade, and an Excel contractor on the side. I have created a plethora of user-friendly Excel "programs" which take data-downloads, reformat, perform data analysis, and create beautiful graphical representation of the data. I have an eye for aesthetics, and a quest for ultimate simplicity in every tool that I create.

He makes short work of projects that would take me days."

I typically change my clients $60/hr, but I am willing to work substantially cheaper for bitcoin: 0.5 BTC/hr. From the sound of it, I believe I am capable of building your project in a matter of a few hours, which, I understand won't make me the cheapest offer you've received, but I assure you the level of service and quality you will receive will be second-to-none. If you're apprehensive about hiring hourly, I'd be willing to livestream the process, so you can audit my hours worked.

If you're interested, please let me know via PM.

Thanks,

-Jix

lol.... would you mind sharing why you're looking to get rid of it and what you liked/disliked about the car?
10  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] a car, 2008 or later on: March 28, 2013, 02:39:23 PM
By all means, don't wait for me.

If I snooze, I lose.

Also, should I be concerned that there's more than one Yaris listed here? haha...

^ Good offer, thank you.

I'll wait a bit to see if any others pop up.

Long story short, since I have no interest in cashing out my coins (thank you, finCEN), I'm looking to buy w/BTC.

Pref. 2008 or newer; hoping for a sedan, wagon, or hatchback; ~$10k-ish (room to negotiate).

You must live in the continental U.S., preferably in the Mid-West.

We will determine the price in USD then convert to BTC upon making the deal.

But for now, just let me know Make, Model, Miles & Price, and we'll go from there.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Tips for trading alternates? on: January 03, 2012, 08:00:53 AM
I've been toying around with trading some alternates on BTC-E and was wondering if any of you had some tips for these currencies.

It seems like pump & dump is the rule not the exception. So what sorts of signs and strategies do you all follow to protect yourself from getting hung out?

Thanks,

-Jix

Looks like [The Manipulator]

16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is crossing any whole dollar price so psychologially difficult? on: September 30, 2011, 04:49:36 PM
Why are products always $9.99?
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never reach $20 again on: September 29, 2011, 01:59:10 PM
Only thing that can really stop this is a blow to the fundamentals of Bitcoin, which are legality and technical reliability. As long as those are in good shape we will very, very likely see Bitcoin grow as both a store of value and a medium of exchange. And this will also mean that the price will eventually recover, big time.

I know that, personally, I've been looking for a store of value that isn't precious metals. That ship has definitely sailed. I'm also a pseudo-Libertarian nerd, so of course Bitcoin is a natural fit for me.

Seeing more and more tools trickle out that bring Bitcoin to the layperson, I do not believe its niche-dom will last long. I give it two years before Bitcoin is a household name. Not to say everyone will use them, but they will all know what it is.

19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Short-term price prediction. on: September 28, 2011, 05:26:04 PM
The Manipulator is slowly buying cheap coins.  When he is done, he will force it back up.  It rallied last night before it was finished and he forced it down, but not below the stagnation area because he doesn't want to crash the price, just keep it here till he's done.

The Romans also blamed gods for what they did not understand.

Intuition... and Chodpaba's charts help confirm my intuition. Wink
