I haven't mined any since the fork and switch to Scrypt-2048, but is it possible you need to be using different mining software than what's in that reddit post?
Basically, Scrypt-2048 is a different algorithm than litecoin, so it needs different software. At the moment murraycoin can be mined with the same software as vertcoin.
I looked here:
https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/3431-murraycoin-mry-information/
And in the first post there are links to CPU miners and source code that seem to be up to date.
Perhaps that would get you mining?

I used the Windows CPU Miner (https://www.amazon.c...nSuMm5b8Ldi-jiA) and inside that zip was a start.bat file where i added the fusion hash url along with username and worker username and password. Cl;icked go and worked straight away!
One thing I found with the link is the both firefox and chrome will block the download but IE will allow it. Temp disable your AV real time scan before unzipping the file as it will remove the minerd.exe. Once you unpacked, add that folder to the av exceptions list and you be all good
