4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is over! on: January 14, 2015, 10:34:55 PM
this has happended to bitcoin before and it recovered fully this is no where near the end just hope it doesnt go below 100 otherwise this community will be dead and bitcoin will take a while to build back up.

No way, I think once it goes below $100 it's going to trigger huge buys. Seems to be what people are waiting for.

It will probably only last 20 minutes maximum if it falls that low and then we contine the build.

Bitcoin Blockchain Direct Download
Download the latest snapshot from our high-speed CDN:
http://bitcoin.network

They've spammed this link on several places - and are asking for a 0.05 BTC payment (~ $20 as of today!).  While I admire people who are providing a service, the price seems excessive.

What service are they providing exactly I havent clicked on the link but all im assming is they have uploaded the latest blockchain so the others can download? thats free to do that.
6  Other / Off-topic / Chromebook for University? on: November 08, 2014, 07:02:15 PM
I'm in no need for a expensive or powerful computer i don't need to use editing software or anything of the case except something like word to write essays and researching on the internet.

Would a chromebook be good? it has good booting time and is secure from viruses I think because you can't install software. I can get one for around £150 at the moment brand new. Would you recommend it?
