Call me worried but, I think I have found a setting that gets me a decent hash rate with temps below 60c. 300 with the current set up that I have will yield 59 and 57 degrees on the blades but within the first hour or so I get 1 hardware error and over the course of a day and a half (36hours) I have 12 hardware errors. Now, I am powering this miner with a high quality 80 gold 650watt power supply.

first of all, are 12 hardware errors over the course of 36 hours ok for the miner? does that seem a bit high? I suppose the cooler I get the less likely the hardware errors will be produced. I am getting two new noctua nf-f12 fans, one at 3000rpm (push) and one at 2000rpm (pull) to replace my current setup as the wife has finally said the miner it too loud and producing too much heat.

I am asking about hardware errors again because I noticed that when I first set the miner to 300 it performed at just over 1Th/s and now it is working at just under 1Th/s. Do hardware errors effect hash rate?

Can you PM us the snapshot of the miner status page? So that we could help you further.

So I have an antminer s3+ and the of the latest firmware versions won't let me factory reset the device with the button on the outside of the unit.  I cannot log in via browser because some settings were messed up inside the software.  I know the ip address and where it is but it will not let me even access that at all.  How can I factory reset this damn thing? Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

Hi, I have sent you a personal message, please check.

After about half an hour, hashrate is declining to 50

https://www.dropbox.com/s/fvj0yau25jk7l3g/Screenshot%202015-02-03%2012.36.59.png?dl=0

Have a look...

Seems not helping in improving hashrate ?

Any tipps or hints ?

Please set the miner voltage to 0830, frequency to 0982 to try. Notice: please pop up and pop in the USB cable, make sure you restart the miner before change the settings. And suggest that point the U3 to the pools like Antpool, f2pool or ghash and so on.

Any place where I can by 1 or 2 of these units intead of MOQ 20 as per BitMain's website?

I still have not seen an answer as to what happened to the five pack of these.

I would be interested in a 5 pack to play around with...

Hi Chris_Sabian,

A PM has sent to you, please check.

You could set up a regional group buy for packs of 5 if you're not interested in buying from resellers.

Wow, is that a non-answer? Sure was! We are all over the world. We cannot set up "regional" groups to buy 20. Come on. Answer the question. Why did Bitmain remove the five pack from the website? Simple question. Simple answer please. Not a Dogie non-answer, kind of rude special non-answer.

Hi, Jackbox,

An email has sent to you, please check.

Yes, the chinese crap psu is probably one reason.

But do this numbers mean ? 0:AU3:0, 1:AU3:1 ...
It's a counter, beginning at 0, and then going up to 4 (in my case). When it's reached 4, the unit is hanging up.

Is it a temperature thing ?

The counter means the attempted times.

Have a look, what my cgminer shows.
I am talking about the status bar.

Stock fan produces ~69db, which is not typically tolerable in the house (apart from basement, attic, garage, shed)
Fan play to have as much hash as possible while maintaing low dB:
~30C ambient
1. Noctua 3000 PWM ($24.5, 110CFM, up to 3000rpm, just 41dB) in push position: ~59-61C at 325mhz, 1070Gh; less stable at 350mhz.
2. Scythe Ultra KAZE ($15.3, 130CFM, 3000rpm, 46dB) in push position via molex adapter-worse than Noctua, temp rising close to 65C at 325mhz, discontinued. Strange result as this fan has nominally higher CFM than Noctua.
3. Noctua in push, Scythe in pull (connected to molex through included adapter), up to 337.5 mhz is stable (1100 Gh).

Conclusion: adding Scythe ($15) in pull might be not worth it as it adds just ~30gh.
I simply taped Scythe to exhaust in pull orientation because could not find proper screws yet.

Question: anybody knows what are the characteristics/dimensions of the machine screws Bitmain is using for fans? They seem to be in between 3 and 4mmX42mm, but I wasn't able to find such screws easily. They are not 3X40mm for sure. Anybody have a link?

Hi, the screw we're using for fans is PM4*42.

Did anyone noticed bitmain have increased shipping costs for S5 (was like 50 and now it is 80)

Hi, the shipping cost will be automatically calculated by the system when you place the order in our official website.

Wondering why I have not received tracking on batch 4 yet?  Anybody get tracking yet, they were to ship out on the 12th.
You can go to UPS and track by reference using your order number. Mine is on the way, just no emails from Bitmain and no update of status on their website.

Is the order number the PO number? Mine is still not shown as shipped, confirmed payment on 1/9.

Hi, the Order ID is start with 00120…… 32 letters. Please PM me the order ID, and I will check the order status for you.

By the way, does anyone happen to know what the correct grill size is for the S3/+ fan?
120mm is the correct size. Like these here:http://www.amazon.com/120mm-Metal-Guard-Protective-Ventilator/dp/B00EZJI3WY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1420776513&sr=8-3&keywords=fan+grills
Thanks, much appreciated! Was trying to dance with 140mm Sad!

Fan specs for S3/+:
voltage: 12V DC
current: 1.2A (MAX)
3600rpm
PWM modulation
size: 119*119*38 (mm)
