@1broker
do you have APIs to automate the process of order submission from client side?
A simple https requests should be good enough.

Hi guys,

Am looking for brokers, who allow anonymous access to global markets (Forex, Commodities, etc).

I would like to hear your comments about above brokers and other similar brokers too.
Thanks.

5  Local / India / Re: [Debate] Remittance through Bitcoin! on: December 13, 2014, 07:56:44 AM
Everytime when people talk about remittance through bitcoin I feel funny,
The reason is: why even bother to remit in bitcoin and convert back and forth with some other currency.

If BTC becomes well accepted currency, we will have only one global currency!
Everything from cup of coffee, salries to private jets could be denominated in BTC, so no funny business of back and forth conversions.

it just doesn't make sense to keep converting back and forth given the ease of handling BTC vs other currencies, except for few situations like people stuck on forest/hill with no electricity and internet they are going to prefer paper currencies (even they can have printed BTC bills)!

7  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: shorting bitcoin in bitfinex and its legal status on: November 28, 2014, 04:37:05 PM
as of now, RBI has not said cryptos as illegal but just warned and said "It's closely watching".
So crypto-currencies are not illegal. I asked the question about legality bcoz bitfinex involves
wire transfer remittance. This seems very similar to wire transferring INR to foreign forex brokers to trade forex.

If RBI has some problem about wire transferring in case of forex trading, we are doing similar thing except one step inserted
INR<->BTC<->USD, that's why I asked about its legal status.

I think this is a grey area, given the nature of BTC, RBI can't do much I guess... anyways wanted to hear from BTC community folks.
8  Local / Marketplace (India) / shorting bitcoin in bitfinex and its legal status on: November 28, 2014, 01:47:50 PM
Hi guys,

I learned we can short sell bitcoin in bitfinex.com

Has any one tried that from India?
What is the legal status of such activities, as I am a resident Indian?
I think trading forex for resident Indians is forbidden, what about cryptocoins?

we have couple of bitcoin exchanges but none allow short selling.

Guys,

I am planning to trade bitcoins from India.

Can someone share their experiences with exchanges and transferring funds etc.

What are the basic setups I need to have to get started in this direction?

Is there any legal issues I should bother about?
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Backing bitcoin with gold through a trust on: November 19, 2013, 04:10:10 PM
so...
did I solve the BTC bubble problem?
Yes.

Now please do work your brillant brain on the following problems :
- The hard problem of consciouness
- Riemann conjecture
- The unification of quantum physics and relativity

thanks for the pointer, one problem for breakfast another for lunch and another for dinner.
15  Economy / Economics / Backing bitcoin with gold through a trust on: November 19, 2013, 03:30:13 PM
I am not an economics geek, so take it easy if this idea is stupid Smiley

I see bitcoin as mere bubble because of the following reasons:
There is noway to determine the lower boundary of BTC when it start to tumble.
There is no way to stop other dozen *coins to leech value from BTC creating the digital equivalent of money printing.

To solve the above two problems:
why not we try to work out a Bitcoin trust, which operates completely transparently based on gold donations.
BTC trust should promise, gold redemption to BTC based on available gold reserve to bitcoins available.

may be we can tweak bitcoin protocol to transfer a small amount of fee (voluntarily) to the BTC trust.
The small fee could be turned back into gold reserve based on previous redemption rate.
This way once BTC trust after bootstrapped with donated gold, it can grow its gold reserve in a cumulative fashion.

BTC trust should not turn into another central bank, so it has only one function.
Accept gold donation and promise gold redemption to BTC based on available gold reserves transparently.period.

If people donate for companies based on opensource software products, certainly
people will be glad to donate for this opensource gold reserve...

so...
did I solve the BTC bubble problem?
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: trusted address vs anonymous address on: September 19, 2011, 05:49:34 AM
@nmat

well , i can't think of any 'checks/mechanism' now, so intentionally I leave that term vague
as of now :p

may be some form of web-of-trust or friend-of-friend concepts...
----

keeping ones wallet safe is simpler and fool proof,
asking for reversible tx seems to be lame... !

thanks guys.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / trusted address vs anonymous address on: September 15, 2011, 08:17:58 PM
nothing happens to a thief who steals bitcoin.

excuse my lame question...

why we don't have 'trusted' addresses & 'anonymous' ones...

so that 'anonymous' thief can never move BTC from 'trusted' addresses
to his 'anonymous' address..

--------
when the transactions is between: trusted -> anonymous

there can be checks/mechanism for 'trusted' address to revert
the transaction... within a day or so...

so that the real owner with 'trusted' address can have
some reaction time to realize the theft and reverse the tx.

I am a retard and trying to be a lesser retard  Grin

I am completely impressed by the bitcoin, some times scared
by what Dan Kaminsky says about bitcoin, most of the time confused
about the state of the art crypto currency Smiley
