1  Other / Beginners & Help / Securing wallet.dat on: January 14, 2012, 09:37:10 PM
Hi there,

my idea is to create a Linux VM, move my wallet.dat to it - and then make it read only.

The Bitcoin folder is in a volatile file system.

Would that work?

Would I create (too much) additional network traffic since all my blkxyz.dat files are created from scratch every time I boot up my VM ?

Would that be unfair on all the other Bitcoin users that permanently store those blk.dat files ?

cheers,
F.
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoins are not transferred / deepbit.net on: January 12, 2012, 08:55:29 AM
Hi there,

I mine with deepbit.net and payouts have not been a problem in the past.

Unfortunately I haven't received the last two payouts in my wallet (one is over 6 days old  by now).

In http://blockexplorer.com/address/1EZMh5fH33TFWLh6enwL86gam5LnEE2o4v I can seem them.

What might be the problem?

cheers,
F.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / 100%CPU bug on ATI on: November 17, 2011, 10:30:47 PM
Hi,

I have two 6970 in my system.

- When I use a Catalyst version > 11.5 my CPU shows 100% load per core when running OpenCL code (before it was around 3%).

- When I use Catalyst < 11.5 I see only one of my two GPUs in the system.

Question: How can I use BOTH my GPUs AND don't have this 100% load bug?

cheers,
F.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Windows XP / Second GPU slows system down on: September 21, 2011, 02:16:23 PM
Hi there,

I have a system with two 6970 running Windows XP (Catalyst 11.Cool.

When I mine with only one GPU, I get 420 Mh/s.

When I use the second GPU it slows to to about 250 for each GPU. So in total ~500. But it should be ~840.

I don't get this slowdown under Windows 7 (there I really get ~840).

Is there a known problem with Windows XP / OpenCL / two GPUs?

cheers,
F.

5  Other / Beginners & Help / Phoenix 1.6 hangs randomly on: August 25, 2011, 04:51:40 AM
When running Phoenix 1.6.x for *some* time it hangs randomly. But not for every pool.

Only when connecting to *some* pools I get this behaviour.

It works fine for, e.g., btcguild.com - it runs stable for days.

But hangs for bitcoinpool.com - after 3 to 12 hours.

Any ideas?
