I really don't get if you're being serious about this or if this is even allowed
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fun Facts of Bitcoin on: July 11, 2019, 01:46:20 AM
Some may think these fun facts aren't really that relevant to the Bitcoin world. Meanwhile, they do actually have an effect on some people. A quite big effect to be exact. Some Bitcoin enthusiast might be introduced to cryptocurrency merely by these stupid facts. It's indisputable that some of those facts are actually interesting for some people, especially people that just heard about Bitcoin. Everyone should have started with something, some might start by reading those facts.
Because the flap of a butterfly may cause a huge tornado somewhere else.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If india bans Cryptocurrency as per the draft law, What happens to the community on: July 11, 2019, 12:01:10 AM
Of course, it will have an effect on the community in any way possible. By the thing that is going on right now in India, people will produce doubt towards Bitcoin. Less and less adoption will take place. Remember, the early adopter start using Bitcoin because there was no regulation from any govt then. That is why they don't need to worry about anything. But then, came the era of Bitcoin criminals. People start using Bitcoin to scam people, to use as a ransom, etc. At that time, people start to worry about it and they started to create this paranoia assumption towards Bitcoin. But now, a few years later, we are finally in a good spot. If another country starts banning Bitcoin again and another country then another country. It will just keep going on and people will lose their trust in Bitcoin. This is totally a huge deal.

After all, we're not even sure what the draft bill's really going to say.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW TO IDENTIFY GOOD AND SOLID BOUNTIES on: July 10, 2019, 09:12:41 PM
Another tip into finding a good bounty is knowing the participants. If you see that there's a member that is quite good on this area joining the bounty, you might as well follow the path. Sure we can trust ourselves by identifying which bounty is the right one, but we can also get another set of eyes to look upon it. Another member that is more professional on this matter has a low possibility to join in a scam. That is why we can at least be more sure on what we're about to join.

Although, the downside of this method is that we can't fully trust other people because they could make mistakes just like we do. Even though it is indisputable that a professional member would have already known those 5 tips that OP has mentioned, but they might forget one thing or two and end up being in the wrong direction. After all, we're all only human.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A completely decentralized world...How will it be? on: July 10, 2019, 12:23:38 AM
This doesn't totally sound like a dream. It sounds like a possible utopian future, given that blockchain tech has developed a lot and lot advanced these days. Anyhow, even though it might seem possible for the entire world to use blockchain as its main system, it less likely to happen in our timeline. Decentralized government sounds illogical for the most part. Our species is a greedy one. We also want more and more power. If it's possible, each of us must have the desire to rule the world. There's where this system won't work out given the circumstances of this era. In conclusion, it is not impossible, but it is just less likely to happen soon in the near future.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scrabble: "Bitcoin" already included in it's 6th edition on: July 09, 2019, 11:23:03 PM
At last, now I could show my friends that Bitcoin is counted as a word.

Anyway, this is actually the mark that people have been starting to adopt bitcoin into their daily lives. Why did they wait this long just to include Bitcoin in the dictionary unless they are interested in it. As we know, this year has been the peak of Bitcoin, especially on the side of the media. More and more people are introduced to Bitcoin and more and more people are starting to use Bitcoin. Bitcoin is not a strange sounded term right now. It will soon be in everyone's computer gadget. It will finally get well accepted by society.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WeChat and Crypto on: July 09, 2019, 09:04:37 PM
I got banned by wechat just for mentioning the word crypto. I just hope more people adopt Elixxir as a wechat alternative that is actually private and decentralized

Is this serious? You got banned just by mentioning the word? This is really a douche move they're doing right now. You can't just ban people just because they mention a certain word. I mean, what if they mention the name to state that crypto is bad. Won't it be a statement that they support? I know for a fact that WeChat has its kind of digital currency. But, what's the use if they get rid of the competitors? Are they that scared to get beaten up by the crypto? This could actually be a good opportunity for them to see how electronic currency will prosper in society. But instead, they decided to get rid of it from their field of business.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Bitcoin Cafe on: July 09, 2019, 08:56:06 PM
Was the cafe built before the government declared the Illegalization of Bitcoin? If not, then it's quite impressive to know the owner of the cafe taking a dangerous step just to promote the Bitcoin. It's even named after the Bitcoin itself. I can't imagine how did he have the courage to do that. Isn't it practically breaking the law to promote something that is illegal? I mean, even tho they're not accepting Bitcoin as a payment option, they're still giving the idea of this illegal currency. However, I still admire the owner's decision to literally not accept your offer to pay with Bitcoin. On one side, he still respects the law, but on the other side, he's kinda defying it too.

I do not understand why you did this thread, you said it months ago:

Crtyptocurrency will not dissapear. Cryptocurrency will survive and its value will appreciate.
Cryptocurrency will be the main currency of the humanity for the next 30 to 70 years to come.

But today you made a strange post

The OP is not himself today..
and so many other days.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Books on: July 08, 2019, 11:24:43 PM
Frankly, I've never really read that many books in the matter of this topic. Although recently I'd just done research (googling) on which Bitcoin books are suitable to read as a first step. I did find that Bitcoin For Dummies is one of the best one to get for those who just started to get into Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I personally just started reading this book to know what it contains and possibly gaining new knowledge along the way. I also found that Mastering Bitcoin: Programming The Open Blockchain as one of a compulsory to even get deeper on the topic of Bitcoin. There is actually a book that I want to recommend to you (OP), but it's on my native language so I think I won't bother to.

Yes this is the main qeustion...i think africa still the last continent in in term of bitcoin and crypto, Regardless the country the  majority of the population has not even heard about bitcoin

I don't think that you get the situation here. Africa is one of the most well-aware countries for the matter of Bitcoin. You can easily see on Google Trends that the most country who searched for the keyword Bitcoin is mainly African countries (ie. Nigeria, South Africa, & Ghana). Although, it is indeed true that this doesn't include most of the countries in Africa, which there is 54 in total, which means the majority of the population have no idea about Bitcoin. However, the OP here stated that his country is listed in the top 5 African country that uses Bitcoin. So basically, it is safe to assume that the people in OP's country are quite familiar with Bitcoin.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who Would Really Buy Facebook Coin? on: July 08, 2019, 09:16:17 PM
Honestly, I thought so too. But unfortunately, there is a lot of people out there that would invest on this coin and wouldn't bother to check on what is really (ie. what is the background of it, what its real purpose is, and other important things) in the first place. Facebook has a huge reputation. Some of them are good and recently some of them are bad. But that won't stop people to keep investing in this huge misdirected project. Also considering the number of people who are using Facebook's services these days, that would possibly be a lot of them that will use this coin as to improve their activity on the services they're currently using. And all of this is caused by the power of its brand that Facebook is using to influence a lot of people on buying its new product. Imagine if a small & not well-known company did the same thing. They couldn't possibly get the same result as Facebook because again, it's Facebook.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Woman Travels to 7 Different Countries in 12-Week.Challenge using only Crypto on: July 07, 2019, 11:40:03 PM

Before the trip, Barclay claims she had never “had never actually purchased anything with” her cryptocurrency, but through her interest in the digital asset class and through her love for travel and passion for learning more, she decided to challenge herself and see if she could “live on crypto” throughout her travels.
So that's why she said that spending is hard.
Quote
Spending Crypto is Hard Because HODL, Not Because You Can’t

Quote
Towards the end of her 12-week challenge, though, Barclay admits that she stopped spending as much of her crypto holdings because the price of Bitcoin was going up so much towards the end of her journey. Despite curbing her own spending due to the HODL effect, Barclay does believe that each passing year “we will see more and more places accepting it and more people knowing what it is,” and that as the “market matures and prices become less volatile, more people will start spending it.”
Yeah, sure. But you won't even spend them anymore because of the "HODL effect".
Look, I'm not saying that it is a bad thing to keep on HODL-ing. For the matter of fact, it is actually what we should do. HODL. But that doesn't mean we have to be crazy about it. It doesn't mean we have to stay away from spending our coins just to keep on this philosophical perspective. Especially if you made a 12-week on spending Bitcoin. It just doesn't suit with the idea of the project itself in the first place. To be honest, I'm quite impressed by the method she was using to find all the Bitcoin-accepted places along the way. Like seriously! How could you possibly manage to survive on this time of the year just with cryptocurrencies in your hand?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Russia, Philippines, Indonesia and India support crypto the most on: July 07, 2019, 10:57:29 PM
Firstly, I don't know what you mean by less developed, but I'll just consider it as a typo.
Secondly, the case in Indonesia is probably because the community is quite solid. They've been there since the first phase. Moreover, with the recent elevation on Bitcoin for the past few years, it just going to make them even more enthusiast. Not to mention the overall population of the people tho.
population. With more than 250 million people, one can't deny that at least some of them might have heard of Bitcoin. Given that the data was obtained by doing online research, obviously one of the highest numbers of internet user will be on the list. Plus, there's Bali (The Bitcoin Island).
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff "Now all I have to do is HODL and when BTC Moons to 1 million....." on: July 07, 2019, 10:30:29 PM
~
Everyone has their priority and Philosophy on what to do with the profits you earn from your investment, what is the point in dictating others on what they want to do with the money they made  Tongue. I am not going to comment on his dad's demise but he is an investor and he was skeptical and even now with this tweet i feel it was kind of a sarcasm from his part about bitcoin reaching a million dollars, i feel like he made that tweet to prove that the media outlets favoring bitcoin will take something out of nothing and create a new version of their story  Cheesy.
This is exactly what I think he's intending to do the moment I understand the post. And it does actually seem like he is mocking the media. Peter Schiff is a well-known stockbroker. I think he is well aware of what he's doing.
By the way, I don't think it's a tweet. I think it's a Facebook post.

I think it is clear that he is not "into" Crypto currencies, but he does not mind getting profit for free. The $2000 is insignificant, compared to his other investments, so it does not bother him at all.... he can just poke a finger at it and wait for it to Moon.  Roll Eyes
...
That's the point. Schiff doesn't need to have Bitcoin just to buy that pretty driven fast car. All he needs to do is just to cash out on a little piece of his investments. Just because he has no interest in Cryptocurrency doesn't necessarily mean that he's stupid.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: U.S President Donald Trump’s ‘Direct Order to Buy Bitcoin’ on: July 07, 2019, 09:31:05 PM
The title of the article is totally misleading. Trump's original tweet doesn't have anything to do with Bitcoin. The reply itself that was sent by Loop doesn't seem to be serious whatsoever. This only seems like the author of the article trying to gain attention through clickbait titles.

Quote
Conclusion
The crypto community was quite enthusiastic to respond to Trump’s tweet, dubbed as ‘ Direct order by Trump to buy Bitcoin’ Following the announcement, Bitcoin jumped percentages higher, almost breaking the $12, 000 barrier.
...
I mean, look at what he has as the conclusion here. Which crypto community is he referring here? No one's even visibly seen as enthusiastic other than that Loop guy. So, if any of the "crypto community" is excited, it must be for the reply of the original tweet instead of Trump's tweet itself. For what it's worth, that guy doesn't even represent the crypto community at all.

We seriously need to filter the credible news sources.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Media Is All Praises For Bitcoin on: July 07, 2019, 12:28:21 AM
I guess the ban of trading an ICO in China doesn't really shake the people a bit. That is the spirit that all the people on this community need. A certain media houses clearly showing that they support Bitcoin by adding a small feature to their mobile app. This may seem like not a big deal, but they actually are for some people, especially for the community. Anyway, the thing that's been going on on the government side there seems to be a whole lot different with the people's side. They are clearly showing the government that those regulations on Bitcoin was a wrong step to make. The people there seem to really like Bitcoin whereas on the other side the government seem to hate it. I think this is just the nature of Bitcoin. The decentralization aspect of Bitcoin will never fit in for those who seek power. They're just no match with the nature of it. Hence, they will keep on getting rid of it just to secure their position.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The time of seriousness is disappearing on: July 07, 2019, 12:08:10 AM

What next?

What's next? Well, probably another unreliable news article will spread around the net right before you know it. You see, this kind of thing is what they do for living. They do it all the time in order to get people attention to read more news on their website. They will not stop doing it unless they are told to buy their own head of direction (which probably won't happen). If you somehow keep on believing on this whole thing, I think it's gonna be your loss. You should never believe the media.. Hell, you should never believe anyone at all. Make your own decision so that you won't have any other to blame on. Because being a skeptic is better than being an optimist.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Electrum.com controlled by scammers to distribute malware called "Electrum Pro" on: July 06, 2019, 09:03:51 PM
Seems like the link would redirect to electrum.org now. I think someone has done his part on wiping up the mess. I can't find the malware either with the keyword 'Electrum Pro'. Probably things are settled now. Glad to see the official Twitter of Electrum itself sending us the warning - giving the precaution to people. Well, the community is way better than those bad guys had anticipated.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin remain the king of Crypto Market? on: July 06, 2019, 01:18:25 AM
I don't think that it is actually a good idea to jinx it, but here's my opinion on this matter.
Short answer: Yes, it will.
Long answer: As the first cryptocurrency to ever exists, Bitcoin is the strongest opponent to be put down if any other altcoin wants to take its throne. Bitcoin has a lot bigger somehow supportive community that is not even near like any other altcoin has. With this power from the community, Bitcoin will even get stronger by the supports that it is having (eg. the technical development and publicity. Therefore making Bitcoin quite unbeatable at this point.
