Volume dropping on poloniex for eth.Is there any latest news causing this apart from DAO hacking incident?

Mrpumperus just fell asleep on the trading desk. Volume will be up when he's back at work.

nothing much happening here anymore, eh? When were the talking heads of mEth seen last time? You sure they're not sitting with Big Vern and Karp-Tarp having party somewhere in rural china?
They're still working on the spork, right?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone make a living from only trading altcoins? on: July 10, 2016, 02:31:07 PM
i would love to do it, and in fact i was thinking about doing it a while ago but in the end i decided against it. because of two things: Risk and Stress

trading altcoin is not only risky business even if you are good at it but it is a stressful job and if you invest more you will have more stress which i don't like to have in my life.

At the moment im trading using about 0.7 of a bitcoin but trying to buy and sell at the right moment is tricky and even if i get it right I'm only making about 0.02 on a trade.  Which isn't very much considering the amount that I'm rising in the trade.  I'm sure others can make way more with alot less.

Much more important: can you survive a bearmarket? I'd think not.

not even worth mentioning. It'll do a full retrace and die like most shitpumps that are happening these days.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone make a living from only trading altcoins? on: July 10, 2016, 10:02:25 AM
Your post tells me: you can't

i cant, but maybe others can?

Yes there are, r0ach and spotnik. They are BTC and ETH whales, trying to buy as much eth as they can while its cheap.

I assumed there must be more than just 2 people out of the whole of bitcointalk who manages to make a living by trading though. r0ach and spotnik may have just been in the fortunate position of buying bitcoin in the early days and being whales these days so can afford to trade larger amounts. It would be interesting to know how much they make per week from trading and how much they have to actually trade to earn that amount.

Yeah, others can but it's not like that was many people. These markets are illiquid as fuck. Not really a lot to gain in alts anymore. Scammers and monkeys spoiled it.

Most slimy and dishonest pumper on the board currently. He'll be gone once he managed to dump his mEth.
Also this post likely triggered him into using another sockpuppet.

You think it's gonna be better next time? Let's be honest; SC are swiss cheese and are severly overvalued for what they currently are. How come this is even valued this high?

Tulips

Look at all the potential attack-vectors that were expsoed, look at the dao-attack. These attacks are really not that far out and should/could have been prevented with a little attention to detail.

They said it was this:

but in reality it was this:

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum to fix TheDAO theft. hard fork != hard fork != holy grail != roll back on: July 05, 2016, 04:59:58 AM
Hard fork will show how strong the community and belief in ETH is. Too many big bucks following into ETH for them not to consider a one off hf and put it down to learning experience. What does kill you serves to make you stronger.

lol, his freudian typo

eth bagholders why waste your time? Everyone and their mom shorts your shitcoin. The whole internet knows about how dao fucked up. The fat lady did sing a long time ago. Sorry for your loss.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any ranking list of cryptos by tps? on: July 05, 2016, 04:14:47 AM
hey, pssst, lemme tell you a secret: tps don't matter because we can always launch a new chain when one is full. Tps isn't everything. Think about bloat and centralisation that results from it.

The more tps the lower the decentralization longterm, what a dilemma, eh?
Just launch the next chain to keep it all healthy. But currently not even btc would be full if it wasn't spammed by the large blockist crybabies.

Tps is a non-issue.

More: large blocks will fall out of sync and increase risk of forking the network because of latency.
Mr. Andresen tries to bambuzle everyone. But currently i think we are safe as he's busy damaging eth.

'bitbeans' has 20mb blocks - i think it should be broken already. If not, then it will be once someone starts spamming it.

The ranking you are looking for is not really important. A more important thing in a coin is how many people are using it and what for.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why Etherium price is decreasing day by day ? on: July 05, 2016, 03:48:51 AM
They are deamed if they do and deamed if they don't. Between a rock and a hard place.
Vitalik should not have pumped it with the developement fund.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sauce on: July 05, 2016, 03:36:57 AM
so, you are in a bitcoin forum, in a altcoin section, saying all altcoin sucks.
makes sense..

Sure, the coins suck, the ponzi-ico-scams suck, most people suck, the "devs" suck, but the money is still good for some reason  Cheesy

I love how you buy up these coins like mad men and hoard things that depreciate in value longterm. The stupidness is extraordinaire.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why Etherium price is decreasing day by day ? on: July 05, 2016, 01:46:51 AM
It has a real chance to go to zero, that's why.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Who will be the next victim for Vitalik to dump his Ethereum IPO scamtokens on? on: July 04, 2016, 10:44:56 PM
Vitalik now picking fights with people on twitter over "chinese bitcoin miners". I think it's totally out of place.

Also @OP: what did you expect? "Developement" needs to be funded, right?
Just hope he doesn't dump the rest on the inevitable decline.
That leg down will be so violent, i can feel it coming in already.

Not only the investors, but also the miners will lose a lot of money if the Ethereum goes belly up. The mining investment increase a lot recently.

So the miners will also be the supporters of the Ethereum because they have the vested interest in it?

I think so. If the Ethereum is dead, they will have no coin to mine at present. All other coins are too small.

So miners actually have an incentive to vote 'no' on a HF to protect their investemet. Let's see how that is digested by devs and community or if miners are sheep that just follow devs? If so, they'll loose out.
It's a very delicate situation with the devs and parts of community being overinvested in dao-fuckup.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ETH ded] Mega-eth-doom-thread on: July 04, 2016, 10:37:13 PM
?

i mine eth. mainly to offset the cost of the videocards that are going into my next builds.

anyone who mines accepts the fact that the coin they are mining could faceplant tomorrow. its part of the mining game.
Well that would be the way for veteran miners, but a shitload of eth miners are people who missed the bitcoin boat and hope to ride on the next big thing...

But from the forum, I see very famous miners like Helix, Marvel9, philips 1957 etc are all adding rigs.

"famous miners" - are we having them now, huh? lulz
