I got in because of greed. Is it good?

Depends on who you ask.

I'm a semiotician specializing in economic history, which means I'm interested in how people craft money and the specific forms that it takes. Bitcoin is very interesting to me from an academic standpoint.

Looks good. Watch out though, those thin grey lines in the image on the bottom left means that image is copyrighted, and that you just have a 'sample' of it. I'd ask the author's permission or find another graphic for that place.

Also.. do your calculations as to electricity costs etc.
Many already say that it's highly dubious as to whether a card will pay for itself in any reasonable timeframe.

Spending the same amount of money on a bitcoin exchange directly for coins can indeed make more sense.
Not to put you off mining totally though.. personally I think it's nice to have at least a basic mining capability - so long as you're aware of the costs and that it's just a different way of speculating.



+1 to this. Unless you have a small server farm or datacenter, the costs of mining coins by hand now are not worth the amount of electricity you're paying for the privilege.
