I’m having a bit of a situation here.
A while ago I sent my miners to Dustin at rektmining as he promised space available.
Then the space wasn’t available anymore and after waiting and waiting I decided to sen the miners to another company.
The problem now is that Dustin told me that the parcels have been sent, however USPS said that they were never either picked up by them or drop off at any of their locations. We are talking about 20 miners with their PSU’s, so it can’t get lost that easily...
I’m in this extremely stressful situation and I can’t get hold of Dustin.
Did any of you had the same before? Or were you able to send the Mirra from rektmining to another location without trouble?
I’m getting a bit desperate as I took a loan for the miners and I had have them offline for months now (rekt was the second place I sent them)

If anyone could give me any information or help I would be grateful forever!

Thanks a lot!

He finally answered...
Parcels were picked up but he doesn’t have a pick up receipt that USPS are asking me for...
this is such a nightmare...
Does any of you know if USPS could have picked up the parcels and not scanned any of the 41 parcels?

Wow.

There's a lot of learning from this.. What NOT do to as hosting company...

Hi,

Just a reminder that we will have space on May 1st.

Thank you!

Quote
Reservations are now opened!

Please note:

The expected date is now May 1st 2018. We estimate 90% chance that the power will be there on May 1st. (Or maybe even before this date!)
A initial deposit of 100 CAD / kW reserved has to be paid within one week after we confirm your reservation. There will be a 30 CAD / Mth / kW charged of unused power after May 1st. As long as you pay the fee, the space is reserved for you. If you change your mind, a cancellation fee of the amount of your deposit will be charged.
Once your miner is setup, you will be charged the usual setup fee of 50 CAD / miner and will have to pay an additional deposit so the total of your deposit become 3 months of expected usage.
Deposit
The final deposit needed is 3 months of expected monthly cost. This is because our electricity supplier asks us a 2 months deposit and we want to protect ourself against bad payers.

This deposit is entirely refundable at the end of the hosting service agreement once all issued invoices are paid.

Interruptible / Non interruptible
Please note that this block of space is not subject to planned power outage in the winter like our interruptible rate. However, we still do not offer any warranty on uptime. We do not have any redundant equipment and we are not a datacenter.

Here are the general process to reserve:

Interested miners will have to reply by email on how many kW they want to reserve and what miners they are planning to put there (We only accept Bitmain miners).
We will confirm on how many spots you can have.
We will issue an invoice to pay your initial deposit. You will have one week to pay the deposit of 100 CAD / kW. If not made, the reservation will be cancelled.
Here are some notes:

We are estimating to have the power ready for May 1st. It will be made available to customers if it’s before this date. Note that if it’s after May first, we won’t be liable for miners sleeping. We are putting a best estimate on availability, but it may be longer due to unexpected delays.
Note that the rates for this facility is uninterruptible electricity starting at 90 CAD / kW / Mth + taxes. See our website for more infos.
Note that unused spot/power after May 1st will be charged 30 CAD / kW / Mth + taxes.
Please read our terms of service and make sure you agree with them before reserving.
Even if you do not reserve, we may have space in the future, but it is less likely.

If you have any question, do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you,

Reservations are now opened!

...and we are not a datacenter.

...I don't wanna nitpick... but in your sig it says "Canadian miner hosting (600 kW+ datacenters)"

So are you a datacenter or not? If you don't consider yourself a datacenter, then what is it? I'm only asking because I think it's valuable to be upfront with people. If you're disclaiming that you're not a datacenter because you haven't built-out the same infrastructure as a typical data center, that's fine and dandy... but then probably best not to also call yourself a datacenter in another breath.

Hi,

You are right, the message is unclear.

What I wanted to say, it is that we are not a "standard" data center. We do not have redundant equipment and miners problem can take more than one business day to be solved. I want to be upfront with this fact (It may be obvious once you know the industry, but for those new to Bitcoin Hosting Services, it's probably not.)

My signature was an old one and it is now updated. Thank you.

If you have any other question, let me know,

Reservations are now opened!

Please note the changes since the last email sent a few days ago:
The expected date is now May 1st 2018, not April 1st 2018. After speaking with the engineers and electrician, April 1st is unrealistic. We estimate 90% chance that the power will be there on May 1st. (Or maybe even before this date!)
We finally won't charge a "reservation fee". However, a deposit of 100 CAD / kW reserved has to be paid within one week after we confirm your reservation.

Deposit
As you can see, we increased the deposit needed from 1 month to 3 months since 2017.

We will confirm on Wednesday (Two days later) how many spots you can have (It may be lower of what is asked)
You will have one week to pay the deposit of 100 CAD / kW. If not made, the reservation will be cancelled.
Here are some notes:

Hi,

We finally have more information on our capacity availability! Please note it's our best estimate.

We have secured a facility where will we be able to have 5 MW of power. Unfortunately electrical supplier won't be able to provide more than 2 MW until Fall 2018. We will open availability by block of 500kW until we reach 2 MW.

We are now willing to open reservations.

The first block of uninterruptible power (500 kW on April 1st ) will be made available on Monday (A new email will be sent).

Here are the general process to reserve:
Interested miners will have to reply by email on how many kW they want to reserve and what miners they are planning to put there (We only accept Bitmain miners).
We will confirm on Wednesday (Two days later) how many spots they can have (It may be lower of what is asked)
They will have until Monday to pay the reservation fee of 10 CAD + taxes and a one month deposit of 100 CAD / kW will be asked. If not made, the reservation will be cancelled.
Here are some notes:
We are planning/estimating to have the power ready for April 1st. It will be made available to customers if it's before. Note that if it's after April first, we won't be liable for miners sleeping, we are putting a best estimate on availability, but it may be longer due to unexpected delays.
Note that the rates for this facility is uninterruptible electricity with is about 15 CAD / kW / Mth more expensive than interruptible electricity. See our website for more infos.
Note that unused spot/power after April 1st will be charged 30 CAD / kW / Mth + taxes.
Please read our terms of service and make sure you agree with them before reserving.
More info will be available on Monday (We will send a new email)

Hi,

Do you guys know where I could buy at a good price 60 PDUs L6-30P 30A.

Back in the good ol' time, I was able to get used AP7841 at a really good price. But it is not available.

Anyone is selling their PDUs? Do you have suppliers in mind? I look out eBay, but didn't find anyone with good quantities.

Thank you   Smiley
13  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: September 08, 2017, 04:23:18 PM
Hi,

I've had some Avalon6. The dashboard on the Raspberry Pi was quite advanced and it was possible to enable SSH.

Now, with the Avalon7... It seems we are stuck with the "simple" dashboard?? Is there a way to activate SSH?

Thank you,

16  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Want to start a small farm, but all calculator give different result on: January 21, 2016, 09:47:05 PM
Since kWh is a bit high in my country (0.16$), i found that miner hosting can be a good idea. I found 3 interesting offer :
- http://zoomhash.com            -> 0.08$
- https://cryptominer.ca          -> 0.09$
- http://bitcoinasichosting.com -> 0.11$

Hi,

FYI, my prices are quoted in CAD. Since, at this time, 1 CAD ~ 0.70 USD, it would be about 0.07 USD / kWH to host with us. Not 0.09.

Thank you,
17  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: When (at which price) will BTC miners have to dump BTC to cover the costs? on: January 16, 2016, 01:40:25 PM
Depends on efficiency and power cost.

Play with my calculator: https://cryptominer.ca/bitcoin-mining-calculator and you'll be able to see when power cost is greater than revenue. Please note that default parameters are in CAD and not in USD.

We can see that for a S7 owner paying 52 USD / kWm will have to power off is miner if the Bitcoin price drop to 105 USD.
A S5 owner (.51 J / GH) will turn it off at 200 USD.
A S3 owner (.78 J / GH) will turn it off at 305 USD.

You can also compute it analytically instead of going through trial/error.
Just solve the inequation:

(Btc price) * (BTC/TH/mthly rate) > (kWm cost) * (Hardware efficiency)
(Btc price) > (kWm cost) * (Hardware efficiency) / (BTC/TH/mthly rate)

The current BTC/TH/mthly rate is .1331. Then
(Btc price) > (kWm cost) * (Hardware efficiency) / .1331

If we input the kWm cost of 52 USD and  hardware efficiency of .78 to verify our previous S3 profitability calculation
(Btc price) > 52 * .78 / .1331
--> 304.73 USD

Do you have a name for your datacenters?

Unfortunately no. DC0001 and DC0002... (If we look my naming convention, I'm ready to open 9999 datacenters...  Roll Eyes)
19  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [January 2016] Bitcoin Mining Datacenters by the Megawatt on: January 15, 2016, 08:42:02 AM
Great! My company is there Smiley. I have to try going up in the list!

Very nice summary.

There's also allinvain with Cryptoboreas in Labrador. Don't know the size of their datacenter though.

I always said that Chinese stuff is the most poor in the world

Better than Italian Bitcoin miners though.
