anybody with experience in changing a hashboard? I think that I need to apply some greese between the hashboard and the heatsinks. what about http://www.arcticsilver.com/as5.htm. is it ok ? I'm a little bit worried about the cycles needed for optimal use. quoting from their website: Important Reminder: Due to the unique shape and sizes of the particles in Arctic Silver 5's conductive matrix, it will take a up to 200 hours and several thermal cycles to achieve maximum particle to particle thermal conduction and for the heatsink to CPU interface to reach maximum conductivity. (This period will be longer in a system without a fan on the heatsink or with a low speed fan on the heatsink.) On systems measuring actual internal core temperatures via the CPU's internal diode, the measured temperature will often drop 2C to 5C over this "break-in" period. This break-in will occur during the normal use of the computer as long as the computer is turned off from time to time and the interface is allowed to cool to room temperature. Once the break-in is complete, the computer can be left on if desired. Caution: We do not recommend using Arctic Silver 5 on the older slot type Intel Xeon processors with large multiple square inch CPU to heatsink interfaces. The huge contact area and large gaps between the processor and the heatsink require a thermal pad or thick mesh-reinforced paste. Arctic Silver 5 can be used on socket type Xeons without a problem. Thanks!

Vi and Vout looks ok, so the PMU is not the problem.
What is your hashrate? It looks like one or two hashboards are having some kind of problem.
You should open a ticket at Caanan and post the log there.
Update:
What voltage offset are you using? Please try with -1 or even -2.
Please check your temperatures, 42 degress C at input is a lot, maybe it's overheating ! Fans are at 100%, this is not normal. Temp[42] TMax[95] Fan[5760] FanR[100%]
my voltage offset is 0. what does it actually do? so what does the safe temp for in and out? is it below 40 for in? and below 95 for out? Try with -1 please.. 95 is really high (95 could be the cutoff - that's why it is restarting). My avalons are: Temp[21] TMax[89] Fan[2940] FanR[45%]

I've been curious what sort of Overtemp protection the Avalons have, if any. If there is one, you might be on to something with his inlet temp being 42. which is 2 degrees above the specs, so you're living dangerously with good old warranty stipulations. If 95 is the shutoff, maybe it resets itself once it drops a few degrees below that. GHSmm[8049.54] If this pointing to his Hashrate at the time taken, if so he is hitting it's full potential so it appears to be hashing just fine. Vi and Vout looks ok, so the PMU is not the problem.
Learning question for myself, does PMU refer to power managment unit?? Yes, it is... In a few days I will get my replacements and I will post some pictures.

Does anyone know what is
CRC [0 0 678 0] means in Avalon CGMiner API Log? some all 0.
also what is ECHU [0 0 512 0] also some miner all 0
and ECMM [2] some miner 0
Thank you.
looks like a bad hashing board. Please post the entire log or at least the Vi,Vo,MW values.. Your error is "CODE_CORETESTFAILED WARN Core test failed Ignore it if hashrate is not so bad". ( https://github.com/Canaan-Creative/avalon7-docs/wiki/AvalonMiner-error-code)

im in the same boat. 1 miner not working since 1st start. 3 weeks messaging via mails tickets. they created order. then order complete message get to my mail. & nothing.... not give me tracking number & I dint know item shipped or not.
Wow, well I would keep on them and send an email every couple of days to check on the status. Did they have you send your miner back to them? in my case, no... the miners are hashing even now, but around 6TH each. They will send me the PMU(if they will), and i'll have to figure it how to change it (not familiar with 741 insides, but don't think that's rocket sience) Update: Just got a call from DHL, saying that I have a package from China, company Caanan. I'm waiting for the documents to fill them up..

I guess the replacement and warranty thing is just BS and sweet talk. I have been asking them 2 more times and what I get is just silent............. until I got replacement, I guess the 90 days warranty, for me is just a typo by them, it should be no warranty.
I'm just wondering have you contacted anyone at Canaan? I'm not sure what you mean by asking them 2 times, how was this done? The process for defective units is pretty straightforward and can take a few days to hear back, but you have to at least open a ticket; was this done? Also a while back one of their representatives Steven had been talking with the group and provided us with his email. You probably dealt with him when you bought your 100 unit order, he tends to have something to do with larger orders. His email is Steve@canaan.io . So far from what I can tell is anyone who has had issues with defective equipment, has had their issues resolved, if they take the proper steps. Good luck. I have 2 deffective 741 (one hash board dead on each one). Opened a ticket, support said "deffective PMU, will replace". The order for 2 x PMU was created 2 weeks ago. (received on email). Since then, nothing. No tracking number, no package on my door, no answer from Caanan.. Will keep waiting for a few days. If not, I will talk to my bank to open a refund (paid them with my CC on minerwarez).

anyone know how to read that?
whats it mean lol
this is the system log, nothing related to the boards here. try posting CGMINER API Log here

OK, first, thanks for the reply. I saw that DS18B20 during my search. But how do you mount it to the heat sink? I saw PT100 probes with an eyelet (I hope thatīs translated correctly) with a diameter for M4 screws. That would be perfect because I could mount it under one of the heat sink screws. But I cantīt find a 1-wire probe with an eyelet. From technical point the 1-wire probe would be perfect. But how do you connect them in series with one wire? You mean parallel, donīt you? So that all VDDs, all GNDs and all DQs are connected?
yes, the electrical connection is in parallel. you can try some heat rezisting tape to glue it to the head sink. (this is what i have used).

No avalon 8 yet.. Avalon 761 is next.. with 26 chips per board... around 9TH/ miner. just a guess

update for my two avalons.
I have opened a ticket at caanan yesterday (although the purchase was made at minerwarez). They moved super fast, we exchanged a few messages and now the PMU replacements are waitting to be shiped.
Great job Caanan !
