I haven't really used bitcoin yet but I hope to in the future and that's why I want to get more. I think bitcoin could be valuable in the near future but will take some time to grow.

Not true. Coins still had value before merchants got involved, though I agree we need merchants for  bitcoin to become a worthwhile currency.
