I think if bitcoin ever becomes a real threat to the banks they will just adapt or change their fee structure. No way they're just going to sit back and let bitcoin win. Just by looking at that screenshot I know that I already saw this lecture. It was recorded a while ago. It's very worth checking out tho for those that didn't see it. It's very inspiring when the girl gets it as he explains how Bitcoin can disrupt several infrastructures.at once.
I've watched the video a while back. The scene you're talking about is where Andreas' is bringing the example of what will happen if you combine self driving cars, Uber and Bitcoin. The result is a self owning car. A car that pays for it's leas, gas by giving people a ride.A car that is a corporation and owned by itself. Sounds like the moment the robots take over.

So the price is lower and has been. Who cares? Average down. Keep at it. Hold long-term. Eventually you'll break even and profit. Ask the people who invested in Cabbage Patch dolls and Franklin Mint collectables how long-term holding worked out. I think collectable Cabbage Patch Dolls are a bit different to a decentralized currency. Bitcoin will very likely go up and down for quite some time but I think it has a long life ahead of it and the potential for big gains is still huge.

I wish this whole blocksize debate would just get sorted. It worries me that things like this can happen. I'm also sceptical of peoples motivations for it. Says the person, who hides behind a sock puppet account to promote BitcoinXT. How ironic.... Show your real face and we would consider if you are biased enough to have a valid argument. Your post history does not show any reason other than being created to promote Bitcoin XT and to attack members who does not share your view or opinion. Ignore = On. ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif) This guy is probably trolling you all and trolls only win when you try fight them. Just ignore it if its something you dont like.

I don't think its a problem at all. When you send bitcoin its instant and how many times has the payment never confirmed? It's zero for me. Aren't double spends rare at best?

Watched Lost again and I got to stay its got to be up there in my top 5 tv series but its a very long series for anyone looking to watch it
Lost is terrible. It started off pretty interesting but then it never answered any questions just kept adding more confusion and the finale was massively dissapointing. I'm up in the air so far with this season of True Detective. The storyline is kind of tough to follow and it has been progressing pretty slow. A lot of buildup and then nothing too explosive.
Loved the first season the new one is so-so.

It's anonymous. But the problem is for example someone try to purchase drugs using bitcoin. This become a new era of transaction without being notice.
Why is buying drugs a problem? I think that's one of its benefits. If people want to buy drugs let them. The law should go after real criminals not criminals they themselves have created from their draconian policies.

Hey everyone, I'm selling 8 Bitcoins with Paypal.
Exchange rate is 1:1
Minimum trade is $200 Maximum is $1800
Steps to Exchange:
1. Pm me how much you want along with your btc address. I'll give you my email if I approve. 2. Send money on Paypal as goods and services 3. I'll send the bitcoins immediately after the payment is in my account.
you're taking a LOT of risk for someone who's got a summable amount of money. why not use other service so that you can use an escrow? I think the op is likely the one who is going to scam. Looks like he's trying to get people to go first and hell then likely just disappear.

just to buy low, and then they call to da moon
and then again low-moon-low-moon...
If that's the case they've got to be pretty stupid or ridiculously self-important to think they can influence the price of bitcoin by trolling on a message board.

... the sun on a cold/chilly winter morning?? I can't seem to be able to think of any, lol, though I'm sure there must be. I just totally love basking in the early morning sun when it's chilly especially when there is a clear cloudless blue sky above ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) What about sex on cold chilly morning? Things can always get better with a good woman ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) . (I do like the sun during cold spells though, but I also like feeling the benefit of heating once you go indoors.

$5 for a yearly subscription? That seems ridiculously cheap especially seeing as a magazine costs more than that. I'm sure people will snap these up but I'd charge much more for a years subscription. Since it will not let me ship out of country
![Embarrassed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/embarrassed.gif) I KNEW it was too good to be true. Oh well, I'll go back to paying my $9 per magazine lol! Why even spend that much. Just read them in the shops ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) .

I think most of the early mined bitcoin might be lost as they have never been moved
not necessarily, in the future we could fork bitcoin and adding something to restore those coins, i'm thinking what would happen in this case, the price will decrease because more coins will be accessible or it will remain the same/increase? and who will be the owner of those coins?(i'm theorizing that the original owner has no track anymore of his lost coins) Why would they do this if it's even possible? It doesn't even matter whether the coins or lost or not but who is to say which coins are lost or just being saved? You can't or shouldn't be able to change something to get those coins back. It's theft and unnecessary. Besides, the less coins the more valuable they should become theoretically.

I know that is my fault, but what i am asking is :
Am i safe with google authenticator ,or should i just do something else, i normally don't think any better way to protect my account then a google authenticator code that changes every 30 seconds in my phone , or is there something better ?
You should be safe with the Google Authenticator, but I highly recommend that you change your Blockchain.info password and on every website where you use this password as well. He should be safe but you should never solely rely on these things. I'd also scan your computer for malware and make sure you don't have a keylogger first, because if you do changing your password wont do much good as they'll immediately know it.

Will you live without money? I think the answer will be "No". It is a big problem to resolve and I think it will pass a lot of years maybe centuries before that there will be a real "change". We need a real revolution, that has to start from the citizen (maybe better to call it not citizen but human).
Money is always going to be used and its actually a great concept and can work well. What doesn't work well is how it is corruptly issued by a central authority and I think that is one thing bitcoin solves with its decentralization. Maybe one day and over time we could transition away from fiat to a decentralized currency whether that is bitcoin or something else.

Real look seriously off the pace at the moment They need to pull up their socks pronto or they are gonna miss out on all the trophies
They're probably already gonna miss out on them. Barca will probably take the double though Barca and Madrid in the final would be great (if it's possible).

Banning books? Isn't that exactly what the Nazis did? You shouldn't ever ban books or ideologies no matter how perverse the politics or beliefs are.

So I'm thinking about getting into bitcoin trading and stuff, and I plan to begin storing my first bitcoins soon. I've read for this sense it is much safer to have Linux than for example Windows (as it is for a lot of other aspects aswell). Do you think is this really a thing to consider? Do I need to have tons of bitcoins before I get concerned about their safety? Should I consider switching to Linux if I'm storing just a few of them, or is it stupid?
Thanks erry'one in advance.
you don't need to switch to linux just because of bitcoin, there are other ways for securing your bitcoin like paper wallet or like thisbut linux is more secure and if you are willing to migrate from "familiar" windows to a new environment then go for it, especially if the programs that you use day by day have also linux versions The problem is if you like videogames. I do and I also tend to use audio programs for music making. So If I want to use Linux I have to shut down and boot under Linux. Going through Win to Linux just for Bitcoin isnt worth it for me. yes, exactly. this is my problem too. that is why i said "the programs that you use day by day have also linux versions". well videogames are a big part of it. but mostly some professional programs do not have any linux version and so a peroson who uses them on daily basis will encounter problems p.s. i am not sure but i think there are ways to run there apps in linux too I don't see what the big deal or big effort is in 'shutting down to boot linux'. You can easily boot from a live cd or usb and its best to keep your coins away from your everyday computer. Far easier to get infected this way and your coins will be safe if they're effectively on a new system. You could also just buy a cheap raspberry pi to boot up to use your bitcoins. Problem solved.
