4  Economy / Goods / Re: Aromatherapy Oils & White-label Essential Oils from India on: September 15, 2011, 05:35:47 PM
Quote
"The practice of chu len [Skt.: rasayana] is of special interest. The term chu len literally means 'extracting the essence,' and refers to esoteric methods for absorbing universal nutrition and thus being able to live without having to rely upon ordinary food. In all of the chu len traditions the yogi or yogini practices mantra and meditation as a means of drawing forth and absorbing universal energy, and then using this energy as a substitute for normal food. Four main traditions of chu len are mentioned in the Dalai Lama literature: extracting essential nutrient from flowers, extracting the essence of stone, taking the sky as food, and living on purified mercury (i.e., quicksilver)... Although these four practices are maintained as living traditions, the first--extracting the essence of flowers is by far the most popular today."

Source: http://www.mail-archive.com/fairfieldlife@yahoogroups.com/msg91538.html

Even though this practice is different from Aromatherapy, it goes to the importance of the essence of flowers as they are preserved in the essential oils and used in massage, treatment, & daily practice in the Rasayana branches of Ayurveda.

Aromatherapy - Introduction:

Carrier oils are a preferred choice for Aromatherapy treatments & cures, as well as making your own fragrances and perfumes. One needs three to five drops of the carrier oil to mix around 3 drops of different perfume oils. The perfume oils are too concentrated and pure to be applied directly - they need the carrier oils as a base to enter into the body's largest organ, the skin, for healing and mood setting in massage and Ayurvedic treatment.

The Aromatherapy oils themselves should not be applied directly to the skin in any form without the carrier oil base - this is a fundamental of Aromatherapy. From there, there is unlimited potential to create moods and fragrances, and also to introduce plant essences into the body on a daily basis, in a subtle manner, through the skin. The Aromatherapy oils may contain thousands of plants reduced to a concentrate, the price is determined by the rarity of the plants involved. These are some of the best quality healing oils & fragrances I have ever encountered, and I highly recommend them for many different uses.

Aromatherapy - Basics:

The Essential Oils are used as a base to mix the Aromatherapy Oils in are used to create unique fragrances, natural perfumes, and by Ayurvedic practitioners as a healing method using the body's largest organ (the skin) as a means to transfer vitamins, minerals, subtle chemicals from the plants as concentrated in the essential oils into the body/mind stream. Aromatherapy Oils can be used in a similar way that Ayurvedic practitioners create healing through Massage Oils and infuse the healing herbs & plants into the oil that is used to massage a patient, so I also recommend these (Essential Oil base + Aromatherapy Oils) for those doing healing massage. Another good thing about the Aromatherapy Oils - they can be evaporated in water w/ a vaporizer - and the steam releases the fragrance into the air as a smoke-free incense. I can also provide some nice models of vaporizers, mostly ceramic designed to work with a candle, for releasing Aromatherapy into a room to create a mood or healing environment, at around $15 each.

Remember:

Use the Carrier Oils as a base to mix in the Aromatherapy oils - otherwise, the Aromatherapy Oils are too strong and do not have the same absorptive effect into the body - 3 dashes carrier oil/1 dash aromatherapy oil (+/-) as required or w/ massage. The Aromatherapy oils are much more highly concentrated plant and flower essences than the Massage oils.

Entrepreneurs - White Label Opportunities:

If anyone is interested in designing their own labels and making their own line of Aromatherapy products - we can do it easily, from the source here in India, and at a way that makes it cost effective for your supply & shipping needs. Contact for details.

Please contact via email for any help building a custom or wholesale order - all orders ship from India via registered post with tracking number.

"The journey of Yoshitomo Nara+graf finally got to an old brick house in Hirosaki-city, Aomori prefecture in Japan in the summer of 2006. All the huts created in the past exhibitions were gathered there and new huts were additionally created and also installed. As a result, there emerged a town of 44 huts in total - it was the 'A to Z' exhibition that no one had ever seen before."

8  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Yoshitomo Nara - Limited Edition Stephen Friedman Gallery Print - Framed on: September 15, 2011, 03:20:05 PM

Quote
"Yoshitomo Nara (born 4 January 1959 in Hirosaki, Japan) is a contemporary Japanese pop artist. He currently lives and works in Tokyo, though his artwork has been exhibited worldwide. Nara received his B.F.A. (1985) and an M.F.A. (1987) from the Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music. Between 1988 and 1993, Nara studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, in Germany. Nara has had nearly 40 solo exhibitions since 1984. He is represented in New York City by Marianne Boesky Gallery and in Los Angeles by Blum & Poe."

"Nara first came to the fore of the art world during Japan's Pop art movement in the 1990s. The subject matter of his sculptures and paintings is deceptively simple: most works depict one seemingly innocuous subject (often pastel-hued children and animals drawn with confident, cartoonish lines) with little or no background. But these children, who appear at first to be cute and even vulnerable, sometimes brandish weapons like knives and saws. Their wide eyes often hold accusatory looks that could be sleepy-eyed irritation at being awoken from a nap—or that could be undiluted expressions of hate."

"Nara, however, does not see his weapon-wielding subjects as aggressors. 'Look at them, they [the weapons] are so small, like toys. Do you think they could fight with those?' he says. 'I don't think so. Rather, I kind of see the children among other, bigger, bad people all around them, who are holding bigger knives…'"

The manga and anime of his 1960s childhood are both clear influences on Nara's stylized, large-eyed figures. Nara subverts these typically cute images, however, by infusing his works with horror-like imagery. This juxtaposition of human evil with the innocent child may be a reaction to Japan's rigid social conventions."

"The punk rock music of Nara's youth has also influenced the artist's work. Recalling a similar – if more unsettling – image of rebellious, violent youth, Nara's art embraces the punk ethos. That said, Nara has also cited traditions as varied as Renaissance painting, literature, illustration, and graffiti as further inspiration."

12  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1 KG Silver .999 Bullion Bars - 2.2 lbs / 32.15 oz. - $2120 / 285 BTC on: September 05, 2011, 04:20:18 PM
Two live auctions selling 1 KG Silver Bullion Bars (.999) @ $2450 p/kg -
+ http://www.ebay.com/itm/Argor-SA-Chiasso-1-Kilo-silver-bar-Swiss-/260768281357
+ http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sweetwater-1-Kilo-Investment-99-9-Silver-Bullion-Bar-/150651033128

So, with my price $300 cheaper, and situated in the middle of the range of physical prices, I don't think it is unreasonable. There seems to be a really wide range between the physical market and the "spot" price quotes which I don't have an explanation for.

"For a security or non-perishable commodity (e.g. silver), the spot price reflects market expectations of future price movements. In theory, the difference in spot and forward prices should be equal to the finance charges, plus any earnings due to the holder of the security, according to the cost of carry model." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spot_price

With the current silver market, a $300 per kg change is possible very quickly, similarly in Bitcoin a wide fluctuation in exchange rates over just a few hours or days. Silver is more of a hedge against dollar inflation, but may be also a good hedge against Bitcoin deflation. I would like to establish a market and take the kind of commission that eBay and PayPal generally take on sales by using Bitcoin.

13  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1 KG Silver .999 Bullion Bars - 2.2 lbs / 32.15 oz. - $2120 / 285 BTC on: September 05, 2011, 03:59:30 PM
I can offer a $20 discount per KG on 100 gram coins vs. the 1 KG bullion bar. The coins are inscribed with Hindu Deities and have the same MMTC certificate of authenticity. Examples: http://www.indiamart.com/mbjewellers/pure-silver-coins.html#silver-bar-coins-and-bullion
14  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1 KG Silver .999 Bullion Bars - 2.2 lbs / 32.15 oz. - $2120 / 285 BTC on: September 05, 2011, 03:45:25 PM
The price is completely in line with the current cash price on eBay for physical 1 kg .999 Silver bullion bars:
+ http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=1+kilo+silver

The price also includes worldwide FedEx delivery @ 1.5 kg shipping cost (3.3 lbs). Unless the market prices change, I cannot really offer a cheaper price on bullion at this time. The Silver philharmonics you are talking about are being offered by the same source that sells the Metalor 1kg bar I quoted the price on... the quality assessment and certificate of authenticity aren't available with the coins.

http://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/silver-bars/1kg-silver-bar/metalor-1-kg-silver-bar/

1 kg bar .999 Silver bullion: £1136.40 @ $1.64 = $1863.69

http://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/silver-coins/austrian-philharmonic/austrian-philharmonic-1oz-silver-coin/

1oz Silver Austrian Philharmonic - 31.1 grams each x 32 coins = 1000 grams
32 coins x £36.41 = £1165.12 @ $1.64 exchange = $1910 per kg + shipping

By this calculation, the Philharmonics are more expensive per kg and my sale price on the bar is about $89 retail over the coins or $130 over retail for the bullion bar. So, no I do not think people are retarded, but there needs to be some premium or advantage for me to adopt Bitcoin over a cash sale, and in this way, changing a virtual currency into physical silver bullion bars might be considered a good idea for some as a long term investment.
15  Economy / Goods / [WTS] 1 KG Silver .999 Bullion Bars - 2.2 lbs / 32.15 oz. - $2120 / 285 BTC on: September 05, 2011, 02:45:33 PM
1 Kilogram (1000 gram) Silver Bullion Bars - Investment Grade (.999 Silver) w/ Certification

The spot price for silver is currently $1369 / £848 / 969 Euro per Kilogram:
http://silverprice.org/silver-price-per-kilo.html

An Investment grade Silver Bullion bar (.999 pure) with Certification of Authenticity sells for a significant premium to spot.

The Metalor 1 Kilo Silver Bar sells for £1140.00 currently @ $1.6127 -> £1 = $1838.42 per KG delivered (http://www.bullionbypost.co.uk/silver-bars/1kg-silver-bar/metalor-1-kg-silver-bar/)
The Perth Mint 1 Kilo Bar sells for $1813 + S/H currently on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1kilo-Perth-Mint-Silver-Bullion-Bar-/230616743997

Selling on eBay, I need to add a commission charge of $102.00 for eBay Fees and a PayPal Fee of $58.27 = $160.27 extra.
See: http://www.rolbe.com/ebay.htm

FedEx shipping is $99 Worldwide and I need a $20 fee minimum for transportation costs.

Sale Price: $1999 per 1 KG .999 Silver Bar + $120 USD S/H = $2120 USD = 285 BTC @ $7.5 USD

The certificate of Authenticity is from MMTC in India - For Reference:
+ http://www.mmtclimited.com/frame.php?url=newsitejewellery/index.htm

I can do 10 Silver coins (.999) of 100 grams each for a total of 1 KG for $20 cheaper per KG only, and a .995 1 KG bar for $80 cheaper. I have over 1000 positive feedback on eBay from 800+ customers over 10 years, 100% positive feedback overall. I would like to use Bitcoin for precious metals trading because it is safer for me in ecommerce than PayPal.

I will ship the Silver bar worldwide via Fed Ex but the receiver is responsible for any import duties or customs. Any additional insurance would need to be taken at the cost of the buyer. No scams or ripoffs - I am hoping to offer a transparent price and a nice means to convert Bitcoins into precious metals for miners and investors. No escrow services.

Please post any questions to the thread, PM me, or send me an email address and I will contact you directly to work out the deal. I can also offer gold bullion at around 10 BTC per gram (@$7.5-->1 btc) in 10 and 100 grams coins /bars. Delivery is 10 to 14 days worldwide w/ Fed Ex tracking number.

I am interested in selling goods via bitcoin including synths and electronics, but I am looking for a higher than eBay price for my goods in bitcoin due to the higher risk involved in the currency. If the exchange rate is $7.80 to 1 btc now, I would also look to sell at a lower exchange rate peg and hope to leverage a greater return through the currency appreciation. Without a premium at this point for adopting the currency, what incentive is there to use bitcoin over eBay?

Even before the price stabilizes (if it ever does) a fund can approach bitcoin trading like forex, and make dollar/euro/etc profit if implementing successful trading strategies and convert that to gold, silver, & real estate. From what I can see, only CampBX is offering short selling currently, and they are not live with it. https://campbx.com/faq.php

If bitcoin exchanges have grown based on mining, ecommerce, and a limited number of websites offering the forex currency trading, there has been little short selling in the bitcoin market traditionally. Because of this bitcoin exchange rates could be vulnerable as a fixed currency to attacks by short sellers backed by large amounts of capital in traditional currencies.

Mainstream financial press have been negative towards bitcoin recently, compared to the mass of coverage that accompanied the exchange rate spike. "Critical mass" would be defined as a sustained trend where more money was flowing into bitcoin continually from other currencies via exchange than was being withdrawn by users -or- the attainment of some percentage of GDP in a market for sales conducted in bitcoin?

Converting bitcoins to stocks, hedging bitcoin exchange rates through long/short trading strategies, and paying a dividend return to savers or investors on bitcoin equity fund holdings is another business model I am interested in developing.

Thanks. I like the concept of the #OTC bitcoin marketplace: http://bitcoin-otc.com/vieworderbook.php

The bitcoin monitor is also great: http://bitcoinmonitor.com/

I have just a few sets of goods to trade at this time, but would like to look into developing on the web bitcoin marketplace sites and investment groups.

I see the bitcoin exchange rate has fallen to around $7.x and there may be arbitrage opportunities for buying and selling with bitcoin. Do bitcoin goods generally trade at a market rate equivalent to dollars or euro, or at a premium price, for example as goods on barter exchanges bought and sold with barter credits?
