I think I should take that as a yes
lol

yes, but the original dev, abvhiael, was long disappeared, and other people had started to take care of this project.
Am I the last one left then?
should I switch off the block explorer?
|
|
|
can someone update the explorer also ?
can do. please post an updated list.

Hey,
I'm not getting any data now. Please check
Rw
Yes, sorry. Had been on holidays, and offline - so I did not notice. Should be fixed anytime soon. Everyone: PM me your altsheets-dataserver-serial code, then I'll gift you a month. EDIT: All good again, problem is fixed.

thanks a lot ... Just saw these new posts. I could be wrong but wouldn't circulating supply be the current top block? At any rate, I'm not the dev and not quite sure what you are asking? (I am sleep deprived right now which isn't helping..) The question goes to one of the several core devs who showed up here and worked on extending the code, long ago. They changed the block reward, and my post further back explained how I reflected that in the block explorer mined/supply totals. But the last update/s are not included yet, so I am asking for the exact block number/s at which the block rewards were changed. It won't cost me much time to include that information into my block explorer code, I just need to get the numbers right. And yes, I put up some links to help when I saw http://178.62.133.174:9001 wasn't working anymore.. https://soil.holylinux.net/ -> my pool - the following links are also at bottom/footer on pool page : http://soilblocks.holylinux.net and some blocktimes -> http://soilblocks.holylinux.net/#/chain/https://soilstats.holylinux.net/ (probably not very accurate/but most ethash stats pages I see aren't very) (If you are looking to mine please give my pool a try. Concerned no one is mining on my pool? Don't be - you WILL win blocks easily. You do not need multi-miners on soil pools to win coins/blocks. The only drawback/concern are these ever increasing blocktimes. I am making next to nothing on my pool and doing this as a service because I like the idea behind this coin - it also helps it's still listed on Cryptopia. ;-) I just hope dev (or someone) starts working on it again!!) Good resources. Who is administering the OP#1 post, and the website at the moment? I suggest you (whoever) put 227ths' links there. Oh, it is working fine, just try again now: http://178.62.133.174:9001/#/chain/http://178.62.133.174:9001/#/address/0x8da4fc05ca343e6a41646194e91931d9f413a40cThe thing that concerns me most is the ever increasingly huge blocktimes. I doubt this was by design?
No idea, sorry. Could be aftermath of some hashing power attack (where large miners come in, mine very fast, drive up the difficulty, and then leave it behind, stuttering). Could also be by design - does anyone know whether the Ethereum Ice Age was ever removed from the soil fork code? If not, anyone able to do that? I find myself having to adjust pool variables every couple weeks (so that the pool home page/etc stats are more correct (things like variance are based on a static blocktime variable - soilcoin avg blocktime isn't staying static as you can see). I may edit this later after I get some sleep. lol...
Rest well!

anyone? This is the formula I have been using: var COINS_PER_BLOCK_PHASE1 = 8, BLOCK_PHASE2 = 263708, COINS_PER_BLOCK_PHASE2 = 4,
BLOCK_PHASE3 = 334000, COINS_PER_BLOCK_PHASE3 = 1,
... ...
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/soilcoin/says 5,702,048 SOIL = Circulating Supply And I do not know how they arrive at that number, or whether it is wrong or not. My -wrong- number is supply = 6,300,326See http://178.62.133.174:9001/#/chain/Whoever knows more about this, please enlighten us, then I can adapt the code, to come to the right answer.

The cloud provider restarted all machines, that's why the Blockexplorer was offline. Blockexplorer is back: http://178.62.133.174:9001If you have coins that you want to give away: 0x8da4fc05ca343e6a41646194e91931d9f413a40c Thanks.

Frankly, didn't try it...I was just checking for portfolio app that could pull data directly from API
If that "pull data directly from API" is about updated prices, change24, volume, CMC-rank, etc. - then you have found your solution. A solution, at least. My system has two components: - the frontend is a GoogleSheets spreadsheet, with additional GoogleScript functions to do cool stuff - a dataserver backend which can compile data from many different sources, and concurrently. The second was necessary, because every exchange has a different API format, and because GoogleSheets just collapsed under the load of too many concurrent requests.

I have updated my little commandline helper tool to v3.18 It now works again, also with the new soil code of MMF, in which the "currency name" had been switched back from soil to ether. https://github.com/altsheets/ethjsre--> altsheets.js just a small thing, but makes my life easier when I am using like this loadScript("altsheets.js") help()

Beware: The following might be superseded by more recent newer versions (then please someone jump in here and tell us, thx), but this is what I used last time, see the links below.(Linux) Compile from SourceIf you have a reasonably recent 'golang' version installed, plus the typical compilation depencies, it is this simple to use martymcfly2015's version 'v1.6.7' git clone https://github.com/Soilcoin/go-soil cd go-soil make gsoil build/bin/gsoil version I see this here: Gsoil Version: 1.6.7-MMF Git Commit: 3a0bc72664fedf5356c5a2cdf4ed9b31579e16fd Architecture: amd64 Protocol Versions: [63 62] Network Id: 42 Go Version: go1.7.4 Operating System: linux
If you get BAD BLOCK messages when upgrading from an older fork, then try this: build/bin/gsoil init genesis.json If you see "Block syncronisation started" but then nothing happens for a long time, you need peers, e.g. from here http://178.62.133.174:9001/#/util/peers--- There is more information here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1176709.msg18990348#msg18990348and here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1176709.msg18995434#msg18995434Anyone else, more or more recent infos?

I would be down to be a dev on soilcoin..
Fantastic. Kudos for stepping forward. Among many other things here ( showPosts), I keep on running the block explorer & node at http://178.62.133.174:9001 which among other things provides a peernodes list: http://178.62.133.174:9001/#/util/peersPerhaps everyone who is still or has been doing something for soil, just write a few lines, so that spinttt knows?

what is the status ? there is no update for long time
People are using it. I am using it. It has not caught on virally though. I offer reseller bonus, PM me if you are good at selling SaaS. The CMC part is offline at the moment, because the data intermediary I had been using for years, to get preformatted CMC data, is suddenly offline, and does not seem to come back up. The only choice I have now, is rebuild that part of the API fetchers. Which I will do ASAP. GoogleSheets has introduced a new layer of "security", so initially it takes a few more clicks to authenticate my code to be allowed to run and call my backend server; but that needs to be done only once, so no big issue. Sometimes GoogleSheets is failing, and that creates hickups in my frontend - but as that is on Google's side, I cannot do anything but ask for patience until they are back on track. Other than that, all is working well. Especially the Python Dataserver backend. There have been literally hundreds of thousands of calls to my server. I am impressed myself at how stable it runs. Today I have just restarted the whole dataserver - it had been running flawlessly for 248 days. Are you using AltFolio yourself? Wanna try? http://altfolio.ddns.net.
