Hey Miners,

Yesterday was an American National holiday, so weekly payouts will be sent out today.

Thanks for your patience!

Chris

Pardon the delay in this response, we tried transitioning payouts and forum communication to a different member of the team and we've now decided that it's best if I continue them.

I've processed all back payout requests, and automatic threshold payouts went out properly on Monday.  Thank you for your patience. If you need a payout (or think we missed yours), please PM me and I'll sort it out.

Today's VWAP used was $20.58.  Users who requested a payout were given the exchange rate on the date of their request.

A lot is happening at CoinLab.  Can't say more than just, "News is coming soon"

Sorry for any elevated blood pressure our lack of communication may have caused, we'll be much more responsive in the future.

Chris

We're still experiencing intermittent problems. After clicking "send" it hangs about 30% of the time.  Refreshing and signing in again often fixes it.  We left the browser open while it was "hanging", and 1-2 mins later we heard the beep and it went through.  Seems like it isn't actually "hanging" but is just moving very slowly.  Trouble communicating with your server perhaps?

Hey Miners,

We use Blockchain.info's wallet to pay out our miners, and today's service outages have slowed down payouts significantly.  Because of this, it looks like we wont be able to get through all of the payouts tonight.

If you're expecting a payout and don't see it tonight, expect it tomorrow morning.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Chris

My transactions via the mobile and webbrowser client appear not to be going through. The mobile client just says "sending" and the browser says "pushing transaction" and nothing happens. Is something wrong with the site?
Seconded.  Both Coinlab and Lindsay from the Bitcoin Foundation (same office space) have encountered this problem today.

Yep!

Now coinlab - any chance of getting a nice block history csv going so I can include you in my weekly stats? PM me if you want know the block history format.

Hi organofcorti,

I've have asked kinlo to update http://blockorigin.pfoe.be/ with the information jimbit provided and he has finished. You can now see coinlab's stats on his site. Looks like they've found 32 blocks out of the last 2016 making them 1.6% of the network.

Best,
James

Very cool!

PS: Today's exchange rate for thursday redeem payouts is $13.38

Re: Phinneas's last post (not quoting because lots of images)

We've chosen to donate through Heifer International because of their great reputation, and are aware that they are other services which donate goats at a lower cost.  However, we trust that Heifer is spending the $120 per goat wisely: they include education on how to raise the goats and ongoing support to the families who receive them, which is likely why it costs them more than their "competitors".

Thursday payouts going out now.  Today's daily VWAP is $13.59.

If you are switching to this because mining for Bitcoin is unprofitable, then you are only fooling yourself.

Scenario 1)
- You give $100 to the goat-needing families

Scenario 2)
- You mine 5 BTC for Coinbase, using $100 of electricity.
- Coinbase converts the BTC to USD.
- Coinbase sends $67.50 to the goat-needing families.

And no one sees the problem with this?

Now, if mining is still profitable for you, then all power to ya!  Just don't fool yourselves by thinking that this is a good idea if you can't already make money Bitcoin mining.

Also, Coinlab hasn't mentioned if 100% of the proceeds are indeed going to these needy families, or if they are taking a cut for "server" usage or something.  Would be nice if they put what percentage that cut is up front.

We are donating 100% PPS for all shares earned by people running the goat client.  So, no fee at all, we're actually taking a slight loss on this (due to orphaned blocks).  In addition, CoinLab is kicking this off by donating one full goat and our test-machine's 7970's hashing power.

This is mostly just a fun project for the holiday season while everyone is in the giving spirit.  (And to possibly introduce some people to the idea of Bitcoin mining who aren't familiar with it).

If you cant mine profitably anymore, we would love to hear that you're donating to Heifer directly: we're hoping this will both raise money for and awareness of their great organization.  Please feel free to post in this thread if you do!

Glad you like it!

We'll be making one of these clients for the Bitcoin Foundation soon.  If you have another cause that you'd like to mine for (or even better, can introduce us to someone working at that charity), send us a PM, because we'd like to have a few of these.

Payouts are being sent now.  Redeem pool payouts are being converted at todays current VWAP, $13.18.
19  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] CoinLab Protected Pool on: December 15, 2012, 02:20:45 AM
The site is registering 33,415.2 MH/s, and has been about that since i started last night.

What does the graph say? I've noticed that the 30 minute trailing calculations are incorrect for higher hashing.

For instance, I'm running over 200Gh on the pool as the 30min estimate shows 89,162.7 MH/s.  Undecided

But at least the graphs seems to be right.

graph is showing me at 35 also..  switching pools for a bit.

200?

We just wrote a fix for the hashrate estimation being off for high-hashrate miners. Testing it now.
