I dont think Bitcoin will be the future, but the technology behind it might very well be. Smiley
2  Economy / Gambling / Re: @Gambling Survey for new currency/service! on: May 29, 2015, 10:23:53 AM
Seemed pretty probably he won't pay . Anyways, he did give out the url of his site in the OP http://www.smartstash.me/

Don't really see how it is built for gambling in anyway. Maybe he is working on some other site

It is not built specifically for gambling, however our service is, among other things, initially particularly suitable for gamblers looking for a more stable and reliable option than Bitcoin/Altcoins. Our end goal is to build the cheapest, fastest, most reliable transferring and payment system possible with current technology. As well as to make it available and easy to use for everyone. Smiley

No worries, I am well aware there's a lot of shenanigans going around here. Smiley
Everyone have been paid, pardon the wait, the payment was slightly delayed due to the slow bank wire and some internet issues as I was in the middle of relocating to China!

Thanks to everyone for participating.  Smiley

7  Economy / Gambling / @Gambling Survey for new currency/service! (Survey closed) on: May 05, 2015, 08:16:18 PM
Hello fellow crypto enthusiasts!

We are in the early/mid stages of simultaneously developing a crypto currency (open source) and the first  exchange service (proprietary) to use said alt coin. Note that our service/coins will not be limited to gambling and will have other uses. However, we want to initially focus on users already using BitCoin to gamble with, because we have a feeling our system can improve the experience significantly.
The service/coin is based on a token system to provide a stable option for people, with all the benefits of a traditional crypto currency, but without the volatility that comes with it. Transfers will be free and within seconds.
Please give us any feedback that comes to mind!

Please answer our survey here; https://survey.zohopublic.com/zs/BsiYhA
It should not take more than 5 minutes!

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for taking your time, and please check out www.smartstash.me(beta) for more information and updates!  Smiley

EDIT: Everyone who took the survey before this edit please PM me your BitCoin address again, due to an issue with the survey.
Promised reward for early survey-takers will be transferred when the survey closes, it might take a few days so please remain patient!

Still looking for a few interviewees, for a small Btc compensation. Smiley

If you want make a gambling site using stable currency, then bitcoin is the best one.
Next probably CLAM or Stellar are quite stable also. But nothing last forever and everyone aware of that

We don't want to make a gambling site, and all those currencies are unfortunately highly unstable.  Smiley

What Skype security risks are you referring to? We will want to do a questionnaire soon, but first we would like to make a focus group to get some more qualitative data rather than quantitative.  Smiley
However, if you do not feel comfortable using Skype, please let us know if there is any other way you would prefer!

Cheers!

I voted no because it is not much of a problem to have a volatile gambling coin in fact that makes it more exciting to be honest, have you seen CLAM that is a brilliant gambling coin as is BTC there is really no need for change unless you create a site and add your own created coin. Also have you ever tried to 'peg' a coin to a dollar? It is highly unlikely you will manage to create this stable coin! Volatility in gambling is good  Tongue

We do realise that this is probably not a service for people that like to gamble purely for the thrill and are actively pursuing volatility, as it's the opposite of what we're providing.
However I'm sure there are many gamblers who want to keep the risk down on a more manageable level, as well as those who indulge in gambling to make profit over longer times from i.e sports betting/poker and so on. These are the users who would benefit from the service!  Smiley
Thanks a lot for taking your time to motivate your answer, we really appreciate all feedback!  Smiley

Hello all!

Thanks a lot for the great amount of interest. The reason I primarily wanted PM's is that we were mainly looking for a few people that would consider doing a very short Skype interview.

We are not actually developing a gambling site, but rather we would like to provide a service that lets people gamble with a Crypto currency and all its benefits, without necessarily keeping their balance in Bitcoin/Altcoin which is as we all know, very volatile.

The essence of the service, not only limited to gambling, is therefore to provide a stable option which maintains all the great qualities of traditional currencies. We will disclose all the technical details and full description at a later time since we are still in pretty early-mid development.

As I previously mentioned we are mostly looking for some more detailed feedback right now. However, we would still be very interested to hear how many people would be interested in gambling with a currency that has all the positive traits of current cryptos but with the relatively stable value of i.e the dollar.

Again, many thanks to everyone for your time and interest.  Smiley

Cheers!

PS; Sorry for the slow response, busy weekend!

Would you provide some type of payment for the service? Or do people just do the interview for free?

We will compensate our interviewees for their time with a smaller amount of btc. We might however, due to time limitations, not be able to interview everyone who shows interest. Smiley

Hello gents and ladies!
We are developing a new stable coin/service. As the gambling market is one of our primary focuses we would like to talk to some people currently gambling with bitcoins/cryptos to make the service as useful as possible for the user.
We would also give you a small btc compensation you for the time! So please PM if you have a few minutes to spare, your help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

Edit(04/21); (Posting my reply here for easier overview)

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you use this cryptocurrency? on: January 26, 2015, 04:37:40 PM

No.  If you consider zero transparency, no public confirmation, no public knowledge of money supply, and therefore full counterfeitability to be "stability"..  most of us don't want it.

If you meant something else by "as stable as fiat", yes we are interested Smiley

[/quote]

Haha I can sympathise with this, however transparency is a high priority for us and yes, I mean something else indeed. Smiley

Cheers!
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you use this cryptocurrency? on: January 25, 2015, 09:30:12 PM
Is it going to be really "next generation altcoin" or just focused on gambling etc? How are you making transactions instant?

We believe it has everything needed to be the next generation cryptocurrency, and the end goal is not to be focused on any particular market as it has the potential to cover all of them. However initially we're trying to establish customer interest and usability in specific market-areas to get the ball rolling, so to speak. Smiley
Well instant is perhaps technically incorrect, I should rather have said "within seconds".

Cheers!

Very interesting concept.  Are you going to release new alt coin?

Hey!
We do not consider our product an altcoin but rather a new generation cryptocurrency, while it is based on the bitcoin technology it's fundamentally improved in a way that has not been done before. Unlike your average altcoins that are generally pure "get-rich-quick" rip-offs of Bitcoin with little purpose. Smiley

Glad to hear it Paul! We're confident that we can so stay tuned. Smiley
This would indeed be the case dbshck!

Thank you all for your input. Smiley
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Would you use this cryptocurrency? on: January 24, 2015, 05:47:38 PM
Hello lads and ladies! We're doing some market research as we're working on a new kind of cryptocurrency that will guarantee the stability of a fiat currency, i.e. $, free near-instant(within seconds) transactions/payments, decentralised, transparency, and of course anonymous.
(Edited): It would also have use for a number of major merchants.

If your answer is no, it'd be most appreciated if you could mention why.
Many thanks for your time, all feedback is very much appreciated. Smiley

Cheers!

PS: This is not some alt-coin/rip-off but a new generation cryptocurrency.

(Edited; This was at first more of a gambling-oriented poll but as it's moved to Alt-discussion I made it more of a general poll)
