Was getting almost 1000kh/s with 280x's on pools but solo miner is a different miner i think?

If you mean mining from daemon I think you type show_hr

If mining from MBK miner the hashrate shows in the window.

With the hashrate down I've been finding more blocks.  I'm using MBK's miner and it's working good.

There is not much activity in this thread.

I have been following crypto for a little while.

I have six r9 280 GPU's that were given to me from a former coworker.  He made a small fortune in the last year and is now taking an extended vacation.  He gave me some of his hardware and told me to use this forum if I had any questions.  Is it worth spending the capital for a motherboard, power supply and ram to make a mining rig with six GPU's?

What would be the best motherboard, processor, and power supply?

Any coins that would be best to mine?


I was able to get one of the GPU's to work with my desktop but that's all I can hook up.  I've been mining boolberry for a couple weeks.  I get cheap electricity so that's not a concern. 

Is it worth it to spend more money to use the GPU's I've been given or should I just put them in a box and forget about them.  It wouldn't cost much but I don't want to waste my time if it's pointless.
