1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LiteDoge - such Community coin | no premine | very fast | much profit on: September 09, 2015, 06:40:43 AM
What makes this coin different and unique to the other hundreds of coins out there?..... NOTHING. This coin doesn't have a community either, just a handful of people.... This coin doesn't even have a good dev team either. Just a few people trying to do things out of thin air. This coin has nothing special. Just a dev posting dumb pictures to keep this thread alive... The only reason I see potential on this coin is because its literally dirt cheap.... You could dump it when it gets pumped and gain a lot but even then its just too risky because this coin is worthless. Almost everybody moved on and took a loss. I honestly can't see see why anybody would buy this shitcoin. All we have here are bagholders trying to cash out. Sorry to be blunt and frank but its the truth. No good devs, no plans, no future, no improvement, no progress, EQUALS WORTHLESSNESS.

I appreciate the response dev. But why is this coin any special or valuable? There's no real features or usage. And people just hoarding, staking and holding coins is not what I call a community...
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LiteDoge - such Community coin | no premine | very fast | much profit on: September 02, 2015, 07:01:34 AM
Seriously, no developments, no news, no direction, no nothing
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LiteDoge - such Community coin | no premine | very fast | much profit on: September 02, 2015, 01:20:32 AM
Looks like a dead coin. I never understood why it was even made actually. No features, no plans, no good team, no nothing. Just a coin trying to piggy back on the “lite" and “doge" names. People are starting to sell at 1 sat LOL
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: [OPAL] | SuperNET | MOBILE MESSAGING | OPAL DRIVE | COLORED COINS on: July 27, 2015, 11:16:49 PM
For those interested in investing in Opal, while receiving a healthy return.

I have created a loan on BTCjam the other day.
If your not a member you can use my referral code to get some free BTC.

https://btcjam.com/?r=a2927a8e-3d89-466b-b589-9db050032ee9&utm_source=referral_url&utm_campaign=user_referral

Investor   You will both receive $5 in Bitcoin once the new user has more than $100 worth of investments in activated listings.
Borrower   You will both receive $20 in Bitcoin when at least $250 worth of loans have been repaid.

That being said the here is a link to the posting.

https://btcjam.com/listings/48129-opal-coin-support-fund-%231

I am a long time user of BTCjam and have a solid loan repayment track record and profile.

The funds will be used to to create a healthy floor and hire some outside developers to assist in additional projects.

Suggestions are welcome.

Thank you and have a great weekend!

I know I shouldn't be surprised but my loan listing is getting a lot of really hateful comments.
It makes me sad. I was just trying to help solidify price an provide liquidity, as well as, promote and continue development on the coin by
bringing in some outside assistance but I guess trolls know no bounds.

Wow seriously? I was actually impressed that you would take out a big loan to help Opal out and try to stabalize it until the devs get back. You're a good guy Truther.

Well, looks like Opal is going down hard. I was thinking of buying some but I'll just watch on the sidelines. Opal was an interesting coin, too bad it ran out of gas.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: [OPAL] | SuperNET | MOBILE MESSAGING | OPAL DRIVE | COLORED COINS on: July 21, 2015, 03:48:57 PM
Everyone has to agree that the “Oh we have news! But we have vacation for June and July so wait until August" is total bullshit. Seriously all the devs are on a 2 month vacation? DO YOU SERIOUSLY EXPECT US JUST TO WAIT AND WATCH THIS COIN DROP IN PRICE WHILE YOU ARE GONE?!
Obviously, we're not all on vacation and there was an announcement, but I guess shapeshift.io isn't a big deal. It's not like  having more exchange acceptance helps use or commercial viability. As far as price goes, I really wonder if Bitcoin devs get yelled at about the price of there coin like the have control of it. If this were an ICO I would totally feel like price was a responsibility, but Opal was NEVER an ICO so we pay for development ourselves. We put in our own time and money and apparently if we don't do this 24/7 its "total bullshit". I'm sorry I let you down. I will set something up to keep you price hounds happy.

Touché. Fair enough. I'll keep an eye open on Opal

Bitcointalk is one thread of a multitude of information that 99% of people will not read

Are you SYS social community manager? Really? This attitude explains SERIOUS communication problem here.

I'm not sure I understand your concern, I'm simply stating that even if people come to our thread, they will not read 99% of the important information that is needed to be relayed. One thread makes things completely convoluted.

Since you have trouble understanding basic English...
Maybe you can read a price chart... and see YOUR promotional handiwork.

Promotion = providing an Executive Summary to bring BUSY people up-to-date quickly...
I'm way too busy to log into 20-30 slack channels to read super-geeks joking among themselves.

If you met a hot girl would tell her "find me on slack"?
Yes, YOU probably would... and never see her again.

Because that hot girl has endless guys to choose from...
Just like every crypto investor has dozens of good options to invest in... with new ones every day.

BTW, a project's tech is entirely secondary to a rational Business Plan and expert promotion.

Which is why we have a website and put clear and concise updates on our blog section to ensure people do not have to siphon through information that is not pertinent to development like your last post...

We have a professional marketer (Andrew) and even though he's applying real-world marketing (not, hey let's post something on a forum and pray someone will read it), price has still gone down due to bitcoins price has going up (which is the case for most altcoins). I can tell you that when I started doing marketing on my end before Andrew, the price went up by 300%(with a very minimal amount of posts on bitcointalk) and since he has taken over it has gone down by 200% *that's still a 100% increase) -- and I am not criticizing the way Andrew does his marketing; it is STELLAR and rare in the industry but again there is not much to counteract these pump and dumps.. when bitcoin goes up, altcoins go down because people cash out to get bitcoin, and the cycle repeats itself when bitcoin goes down, typically though to the detriment of altcoins.

I have dated a few hot girls in my life and I can certainly assure you that the more you are desperate to get them, the less they want you; the more confident you are, the more they want you. Honestly though that analogy has absolutely nothing to do with crypto or a business(which in itself is also completely different from crypto).

You are too busy to go to slack where we have pinned updates that are easy to find? (nothing forces you to chat with people), yet you are not too busy to go through a bunch of toxic posts in a thread to find real up-to-date information? I really do not understand... Ok you don't want to go through a slack chat where you need to sign-up; fair enough, I understand that, but how does that prevent you from checking updates on Syscoin.org or to check out @syscoin on twitter, or our facebook page, or our linkedin account?

Like I said, we are not leaving bitcointalk, and I will do my best to post pertinent updates. But for a team that actually does real ground-breaking development and does not copy-paste a coin like 99% of the ones that have traction here, bitcointalk is the last place you should be looking for updates.

I AGREE WITH SEBASTIEN %100. WELL SAID! YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD!

I just published an article about decentralized marketplaces which features Syscoin:

http://cryptorials.io/decentralized-marketplaces-the-best-alternative-to-ebay-amazon/

Any feedback is welcome.

Also, I hope to get this article ranked on Google et al for long tail keywords related to 'ebay alternatives' such as 'low fee alternatives to ebay' and so on - all likes, tweets, reblogs and links will help me do this and gain attention for Syscoin! Thanks  Grin
Awesome!

That was an awesome read! HIGHLY ENJOYED IT, WELL DONE!

99% of these idiots have 0 coins. Not only SYS, but other coins to. They coming here to rage, as they "invested"  lunch money to buy "supa rich - supa fast" coins, that lost their 90%+ of original value within hours after purchase. I have my SYS and I buying few more weekly. As it is not 1 day scam coin. Good job so far Dev's and keep us updated.

Nah actually I just won 22 Bitcoins off a 0.01 Bitcoin Bet...

I could tank the price of this already shitly priced shitcoin if I really cared to  Roll Eyes

I don't care to though...  Roll Eyes

PLEASE TANK THE PRICE! I'D LOVE TO BUY MORE CHEAP PRICED SYSCOIN Grin

I'm confused by syscoins pegging. The way other coins like Nubits and Bitbay use the term it ensures price stability relative to a target like USD.
As I understand it from reading the article, Syscoins pegging is really just a way to tell ppl what the current price of sys is.
Am I missing something?

Correct, pegging the TOKEN value is a total different beast.. solved by bitshares via oracles (delegate feeds) and market rules of no shorting below 10% of the peg based on price feed. Nubits has a centralized market maker to ensure peg holds but without the price feeds beign intrinsic part of the core design holding the peg up.. Bitbay wants to create a "prediction market" style peg which he claims will try to hold on its own without any rules, by adjusting inflation... we know this won't work because once broken it will be race to bottom, inflation won't fix it when broken because of psychology. I had proposed this very thing in DevCoin by pegging the value of DevCoin to try to set a rate at which writers were earning per round, but we found after analysis that, that style of peg wouldn't be the most efficient market consensus of finding true value of a token, its easy for a swan event to wipe the peg out for good and project is capput.

We DO NOT want to do this, instead we simply want to allow front-ends to figure out the price of goods based on current exchange rate... however there is a notion of a hard price peg of fees (which are not tradeable) based on say USD or BTC.. because CODB will not be known ahead of time if people are paying in SYS... the world's accounting systems work on USD so we must allow people to understand costs in USD for example. This is a hard problem that we need to solve... so that fees scale(in USD or BTC) with syscoin value.

I don't see a need to peg the token (syscoin), but a price peg tool which calculates how many SYS a given item is... is all that is needed.. nice and simple.

In all fairness you should call your pegging a calculator and not pegging. Pegging is imo one of the most important features in a coin with market that targets ordinary businesses and consumers. You might do fine without it for the silkroad crowd because they don't have many alternatives. For everything else there are alternatives already that we have to compete with. Risk is one of the considerations people have to make when choosing market place. Reducing the risk and bother that the high volatility of bitcoin price and alt prices represent is a key feature in a coin. I have no problem with Syscoin not wanting to peg. But calling a calculator a pegging system? Well...

There is no risk if they wish to use USD/GBP/EUR to accept payments yet still use syscoin for marketplace features. If you want to use Sys/BTC totally up to you.. if you use sys the volatility is an issue but you also get to track payments and more features as an incentive... if you really want to trade USD on the blockchain you can accept the bitshares payment gateway and accept bitUSD for example... these shouldnt be part of the core.. that is why we have solved the problem by simply rearranging thoughts and process flows to better align how the world works.

But right in an apples to apples comparison.. its not the same pegging, but it is a pegging TOOL. I do talk about that anyway so people understand how its different.

What I can say is that no marketplace has even remotely gotten the peg like you mention to work correctly so its a moot point since if you really want that type of pegging you don't have any marketplace to use.

In your blog post your not comparing your propping syscoin plus your not reporting your just repeating. Your blog title is misleading.

Come on bro read the blog don't be naive or ignorant. IT CLEARLY SHOWS THE PROS AND CONS OF THE DECENTRALIZED MARKET PLACES. If you can't see why Syscoin is better and has the edge, then you're being biased, naive, ignorant or a mixture of the three. Frankly P2P is not the way to go. A DECENTRALIZED MARKET PLACE IN THE BLOCK CHAIN IS. SYSCOIN IS THE ANSWER.
