If you wish to hold your bitcoins during the hard fork event, just withdraw them from the exchanges ( if you are using any)into a wallet like electrum and wait. No need to do anything else. You can choose your side whenever you like.
What you need to be careful is, you need to do it before the HF, or you will be at the exchanges mercy.
If then HF happens and it splits, will a wallet like Ledger Nano S give copies of both or does it have to be a software wallet? Regardless of any wallet, software or hardware, exchange or own, until you have FULL CONTROL of your BTC wallet private key, any upcoming hard frock will create same balance on both chain, on current case both BTC and BTU. Let me make it more clear, let's say, upto last block when hard frock happen, you have 5BTC on your wallet, as soon frock happen, you now have both BTC and BTU 5 units of coin on each side. As you control the private key of coin on both chain, ONLY you can spend, send, give, pay the amount on both chain. Now come to the point where you don't have access to private key of your wallet, ie. balance on exchange or any 3rd party wallet provider, its up to the provider/exchange to make decision. Most of reputed exchange like Poloniex, Kraken, HitBTC already declared that they will give same amount of BTC to their user in case of hard frock. They will update your balance with same amount of BTU matching with your BTC balance on time of frock. As it is totally depends on your wallet provider to give you or not give you the balance. Batter you check directly with your wallet provider. My suggestion will be to have your own wallet with private key known ONLY BY YOURSELF. |

Also, we know altcoins are getting a lot of interest now. Don't let anyone discount the selfish mining issue  Be cautious if you are investing in this coin. I bought 10BTM to make fun on POLO TrollBox with marking every possible person with 1mark each and got ban by Mr. SolorPower for the first time on my POLO experience of entire life. I might be THE ONE who got ban for giving out mark to people.... As polo is recruiting more and new MODs for their TrollBox it become MOD haven to do whatever they wish. I wonder POLO has any written and fixed rules on what is 'Allowed' or 'Not Allowed' for TrollBox user to post/comments/ask. I really got upset after my Ban what they are calling as 'Marking SPAM'. POLO is becoming evil giant on alt-coin market day by day with their dominating rules made by their so called mods. |

It shouldn't be this hard to change the mining algorithm, but they are letting the selfish mining happen. It is easy to tell what is going on Its too surprised to know the issue. And most of all, an reputed exchange like Poloniex is supporting this, intentionally or unintentionally even losing their high reputation? Coin itself look like another hyp on market, but supporting party like Polo make it hard to be a true hyp. We really wants to know more depth... Good question (Y)  |

Is it possible to recover the hz coins if i forget the passphrase ?

Basic idea of determining the 'owner' of crypto currency is someone know the 'passphrase' of account. Most of all crypto currency is work with public/private key pair, mean every account/address of any cryptocurrency you see around is their 'public key' which have their relative 'private key' in pair. As this crypto world run on most 'trustless environment' (mean no one needs to establish exclusive trust other like Banking system for doing value transfer on crypto currency transaction) only way to identify ownership of any account who knows the 'passphrase'. As like paper currency cash, owner can prove himself showing physical paper where money was printed by 3rd party earlier. Owner of that piece of paper somehow 'own' it and have rights to spend it. But losing that physical paper will lose his ability of spending the money. Same with crypto currency account created with some 'passphrase' only known by creator can spend. As there is no 3rd party to provide identifican for account holder, cryptocurrency system without real brain will only allow someone to move/spend from account as soon he/she provide his hidden passphrase key. Losing passphrase doesn't necessarily mean value of account has just gone, but value might be still on account/circulation but nobody can spend/move from account without actual passphrase and it virtually become valueless.... |

I doubt that's true. Poloniex has never made any public statement on why they decided not to list a coin/token. And I don't think that will change. Out of respect and a proper way to handle things, Poloniex would let this remain behind the scenes and would not have issued a public statement that would risk debasing any platform or project. That's just bad for business overall.

Not dead, but needs some love Are you sure? Its site's full of dead links, Twitter's dead as well, not many posts around here either. I have a feeling the only reason it's alive is that it's mined over at minergate, I run that, maybe not that good an idea for an 1 eu every couple of months, but I just feel like it for until I get bored of it. They also mine QuazarCoin which also looks pretty dead. This guy's got it, it's (BY DEFAULT) merge-mined on MinerGate, so people wanting to mine BCN automatically mine this coin, which actually accounts for over (normally) 49-50% of the network hashrate For last couple of day, MinerGate stopped supporting Marge Mining with BCN...Any other coin working for Marge Mining? |

About 100k so far.  So what's about dividends? When they are planned to be paid? In % ratio of 100k HZ against the amount in HZXchange asset value is not high enough to issue any payout. This might be the cause of delay on issueing ... [ I am saying above statement without real calculation of current value of asset in market, so never take it as reference] |

My recently updated HZ v4.x is running really nice. Thanks to dev team. I am thinking of FaucetBox type service with HZ recently. Let me study more before propose any idea.

Thanks for your answers. I edited an old scipt and it worked. But I have another question. I have a VPS and it has more than one IP. I know that its not possible multiple node from 1 Ip address. But in my case with a mulitple IP VPS, is it possible to run multiple hallmarked node from one working horizon instance? If so how?

I couldnt get any answer.I think people missed my question. Is there any way to do this or just I forget it? Solution to your query is a little 'tricky'. To run multiple node from same VPS with more then one IP address, copy HZ node software different folder for different IP address. Say, you have IP address 192.168.1.5, 6,7,8,9. Create 5 different folder and modify 'conf/nhz-default-properties' file on each folder. In 'conf/nhz-default-properties' file look for option: For IP 192.168.1.5 in folder 5: nhz.peerServerHost=192.168.1.5
nhz.apiServerHost=192.168.1.5
nhz.myAddress=192.168.1.5
nhz.apiServerHost=192.168.1.5
nhz.uiServerHost=192.168.1.5
For IP 192.168.1.6 in folder 6: nhz.peerServerHost=192.168.1.6
nhz.apiServerHost=192.168.1.6
nhz.myAddress=192.168.1.6
nhz.apiServerHost=192.168.1.6
nhz.uiServerHost=192.168.1.6
do it same for 7,8,9.... all All other option should be same in config file. now 'cd' to every folder and run node script. like:
cd /home/userhome/5
screen -d -m -S HZNode5 ./run.sh
cd /home/userhome/6
screen -d -m -S HZNode6 ./run.sh
cd /home/userhome/7
screen -d -m -S HZNode7 ./run.sh
and same for 8 , 9 ....all folder. Congratulation! you are running HZ Node on every IP address! NB: Make sure your 'iptables/firewall' rules allow incoming connection on tcp 7774 port on every IP address on VPS. Above description was for 'Linux' box only. Install 'screen' on your VPS to above solution works! |

Block times vary, that's completely normal.
Sometimes it feels like it happens always when I'm about to do something, i was creating assets with those two blocks.
Surely it doesn't have that much impact on me when I happen to catch a 15 seconds block...
Me also observed 'longer time to block' then average block time when I broadcast any asset related transaction. It seems it needs more time when it need to add any asset (trade/transfer/create) related transaction on block... |

"Proposal for modification of HZ Official Faucet Options" Hello Devs, As currently HZ still under development and distributional stage, I am proposing increase some rewards on HZ Official faucet. Currently it pays out between 2 and 2 Horizon each time in every 48 hours which is oke if faucet target is to allow 'new user' to activate their 'brand new' account if user is experienced and used to with HZ wallet. I know there is potential hazard of spammers, automated collectors or even some clever dude sitting behind to game the system but still 48 hours for IP address seem too low. Country like my one, where having hundreds of user sharing same 'NAT' network face tremendous problem with it. Faucet was previously announced notice "The Horizon Platform team are committed to maintaining fairness of distribution, and having an official faucet allows us to ensure that coins continue to be distributed in as fair a manner as possible. We have allocated 250,000 Horizon per day to be sent out via the faucet, and will continue to support it until distribution is complete." Even there was allocation '250k HZ/day' and 'distributed in as fair a manner as possible' if people get few more HZ out of visiting faucet page, entering captcha worth it. Also using faucet help forger to get some extra as we can see lots of 0fee block in network. Don't get me wrong, I just thinking of distribute few more hundred HZ to new user to play around. If there is not that much problem, devs may consider it....2HZ/48Hours seem real low, really I mean it  Any thought on it? yet? |

Yes, a lots of user contact data, related to CryptoCurrency which can be use for other phishing attack...
Other then above, what could be the 'direct' gain he/she/they (The attacker) had in mind at time of attacking??
