There does seem to be a slight issue with this checkpoint thing, I've had it for a while and no matter how many times I've deleted all kinds of things and redownloaded etc. it seems to persist. It doesn't affect the operation of the wallet, so I'm still using it and not too worried (should I be?). There seems to be something that is causing certain people to consistently miss receiving the latest checkpoint.
On the idea of stats within the wallet, I initially thought this was a bit pointless, but I actually now think it is a brilliant idea that will help differentiate CGB. Think about it... we are absolutely surrounded by altcoins with all their differences (or similarities!) but the vast majority have the exact same looking client. (I only have a handful of different alts so could have missed a prominent altcoin with a radically different client). If CGB has a client that is actually unique, that in itself lends a huge amount of legitimacy to the coin, and if these features are also smart/useful (like live stats) it showcases the quality development team behind it, rather than just suggesting their capabilities are limited to cloning another client. This would presumably be a bit of work, but I think it would be worth it. I think it would be really worth doing something like this before any kind of marketing drive too. Although I am no expert I do have a bit of experience in beta testing software and hunting out obscure bugs, I'd be happy to do this on any new client.
Just my 2 mBTC, I'm sure you guys have things in hand, keep up the good work!

Since I seem to have started this questioning of elamberts commitment and image I guess I should respond, firstly to thank him for his response. It wasn't quite the statement of pure dedication that I would have loved, but it would have been silly and unfair of me to realistically expect that, and the dude replied at a time when he could have simply said, sod this, I'm at a wedding, I'll deal with this crap when I get back (which is what a lot of people would have done).
I can kind of see where the issue with the 'professional image' comes from, but why the hell should we expect elambert to become some faceless entity with no life for the sake of anything, let alone something that is peer-to-peer. For me, peer-to-peer is a big part of why I got into cryptocurrency. It represents people providing a service in a better way than that service would otherwise be provided by a faceless entity that is blind to everything but profit. The people behind CGB are what makes it. Development team and community. I prefer it that I know some stuff about elambert, much better than being told some anonymous dudes trying to get me to invest, but hey, he's not willing to reveal anything at all (like it is with a lot of altcoins). That is majorly dodgy to me.
Anyway, from what I've read so far it seems like this new structure is good. Things seem to have been given a bit of a kick with recent events and I now have more confidence in the coin than I did. Hopefully it will continue, and keep the info coming guys. I'm sure there are some new ideas in the works, keep the community up to date and involved and if there's anything we can do, say so. Keep up the good work. Thanks.

@elmabert
I think you owe it to investors, believers in CGB, and the community in general to come clean about your commitment and, more importantly, ability to dedicate time to this coin/project. You have said previously that you have a full-time job and other businesses if I am not mistaken, and so it seems unlikely you can attach too much importance to this project. Now doubt this is leading to the question in some investors minds (and it's starting to appear in my mind too) that this was never really nothing more than a bit of a money maker like the vast majority of alts, rather than something that genuinely had big ideas, big innovations, and big potential. To clarify, I'm not suggesting this IS the case, just that you cannot be surprised if those concerns start to appear. You have done a great job of presenting a friendly, helpful and enthusiastic public face, but ultimately that is meaningless without actions, and many people have been able to do this is in the past who then turn out to have completely different agendas. Again, this is definitely NOT the accusation I am laying on elambert, I only mean to say that being able to put on a good public front is not enough. There is no doubt that Mercury would not have made the accusations he did without at least some basis. So I guess what I have to ask is, are you the right man for the job? Are you willing to put in some time, and more importantly effort, to deliver on something you believe in even if this means sacrifices have to be made elsewhere? Or is this just a side project with a few nice ideals and the potential for a bit of a profit?
Anyway, sorry if you think I'm out of line, this isn't intended to be as harsh a criticism as it probably sounds, there is some really good work you've done and I can't possibly know the full picture. But I just wanted to raise some questions and hopefully the community can learn a bit and be given some confidence from your response. Thanks.

Just wanted to post that I made a deposit to this, pretty much just to see what it was really and if it was legit. Received the 0.10 btc payout pretty much instantly so that's nice. Not that this is an endorsement or anything so don't shout at me if it goes wrong. Maybe I'll play again if I get bored, but no-one seemed to have the balls to try it out and it's an interesting concept. Could/should be built on though.

Well this is disappointing, returning after several months to find nothing has happened with this. Obviously I'll check the rest of the forums, but if someone would be so kind as to tell me if everyone really stopped caring about this in April, or should I look elsewhere?
People care but the question is what do you want us to do? Well I was more hoping that Nefario would have had some decency and at least made some communication, or that some more info would be known. My "everyone stopped caring" comment was more just that this thread died, as though people lost interest. I wouldn't lose interest in XX thousand $'s, but thankfully I was only robbed of ~8 coins so was coming back more out of curiosity and a faint hope. Although, since you ask I suppose it would also have been awesome if someone had been able to have justice be done, one way or another.

I've been away from the bitcoin world for a while, the GLBSE crap soured me massively. Just trying to catch up on some of the things I was involved with before. Not much idea how much I put into FZB, I'm sure I could work it out, but regardless, it'd be nice to see some action now rather than what appears to be a few words asking for more time every few months. I guess in bitcoin entitlement & rules etc. become fairly meaningless, but I'd like to think I'm entitled to something for what I've put in? And if I may be so forthcoming, I'd like something (buy-back, concrete product... anything other than a polite but worthless reassurance) pretty much now. Thanks.
If it turns out I only invested a measly amount, I apologise for sounding a dick, but a positive response to this would at least restore my, and many others, faith in the decency of btc folk, rather than increasing hostility as seems to be happening now.

I filled in the form aaages ago. No idea what my assets were, I've kind of written them off so anything there would be a bonus. But my balance was 7 or 8 coins, which is a lot to me at the moment. Emailed Nef a few times, initially got a response saying it would be dealt with next day. It wasn't. Over a month later, nothing received and now my emails are being ignored. Anyone received or even heard anything in the last 2 or 3 weeks? That seems to be when things went silent again.

Anyone heard anything in the last couple of weeks? James seems to have gone silent and stopped replying. Sigh.

Hmm... I think I would support this too. Obviously we don't want huge amounts of spam, but it seems a bit unfortunate that such a wide ranging topic that is the most popular on the gambling section, is confined to one thread. I've played bitcoinduit before and I would disagree that it's (completely) not smart. It is one of the few "gambling" games where there is no house advantage, and you can take as much or as little risk as you choose, including (literally) zero. Anyway, this isn't a discussion about it's relative merits, people can find those out for themselves, but it would seem fair to at the very least reduce the restrictions.

lol, well in that case the Crap_2 round is mine too. Although that's more of an experiment. First one was successful, but as the name suggested, a bit crap! This one is intended to be slightly less crap, but we'll see.
Don't know... it looks too crapy! You said you were a bit... mmmhhh... let say 'happy' when you created the first one, didn't you? LOL lol, i was... but then it made a half decent profit, and (i think) paid everyone out. Maybe bar one, not sure. Anyway, it's designed to be v low risk obviously, but despite the low jackpot %, the fairly high minimum bet means a half decent jackpot should still arise, and I plan to (try to) keep it alive until then. We'll see anyway. Just can't believe my dwarf exploded!

wow.. this is mad. Wish the confirmations would come quicker, i can't reinvest!!

Wow!! If I'd known that would get such quick results I'd have done it earlier and with all my rounds . Well, it seems that as soon as we know it's yours we all want to play. lol, well in that case the Crap_2 round is mine too. Although that's more of an experiment. Who dares to tarnish the good name of the Forever Game by attaching a fee. lol. Just so everyone knows, I haven't created that round, so don't expect any booby prizes from it as with the others. Is somebody "copying" all the names of your rounds or are those last ones really yours? Only one that's been copied is the forever game, no idea who created the other stupid rounds. I don't think I've ever seen another deposit made to a round from 1758d. Ah... if you mean has the dwarf bank been copied, then the Super-Dwarf Bank is mine. Seemed like the site was too quiet to make a small version so thought I may as well go for it with a bigger one. I'll reinvest a few times if it takes off and make sure the jackpot is nice, then see what happens. So come on people... get depositing, things are sooo boring lately.

The Forever Game has ended, whoda thunk it. As promised, I have paid out the second last deposit and the first unpaid deposit the grand sum of 0.20123, so you know it's from me. Enjoy .

Ok, so how does the jackpot work? The site says The jackpot will be paid to the depositor burden. so does that mean that it just gets used to payoff all those that haven't been paid? I had thought that the last depositor wins the jackpot - is that not so? Not sure where on the site it says that? On the rules it says "The jackpot will be paid to the last depositor." So basically you are correct . Only that one deposit gets the entire jackpot.
