3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Acellero Xtreme 5970? Any good for mining? on: March 14, 2011, 03:28:23 PM
Hi i have pairs of 5970s in pc, keeping the temperature at about 70C in GPU and 90-100 v-in using CPUid HW monitor. clocking at 1.87V & 840core. win7 64bit.

I have bought a couple of the accellero Xtreme 5970's, any one else fitted them and notice worth while difference?

im concerned they dont blow air out the back, like the standard fitted fan, and that they stress the card causing a 1-2mm bend as the voltage cooling fins are to large! I have written to artic cooling and they are not british by origin and didnt really answer my question;

You wrote on 01/03/2011:

The VRM heatsink is too thick, and when installed it caused the card to bend, can this not be adjusted by shimming 1, 2 or ?? mm from the fins?

see this picture http://www.xbitlabs.com/images/coolers/ac-accelero-xtreme-5970/23_ac_597ont_big.jpg

I have 2 of these coolers and am reluctant to cause this bending, can the heatsink be modified??
by user, or preferably by yourselves

thier reply;

Dear ,

Thank you for your e-mail, we would like to help you regarding this issue.

We are sorry to hear that you have problem with one of our products.It is not recommanded to modify the cooler as the waranty does not cover any modification made to the cooler.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

We hope, this was helpful for you.

4  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (>70Ghash/s) on: February 28, 2011, 05:05:35 PM
According to the Slush's statistics, I found for the pool 8 blocks. And received 194 btc.
so if you are lucky, you got less bitcoins :-).
Yeah! I'm at 53.5% luckier than the average person! :^)))

I know it's normal for a random distribution. And its even more normal for a pool in which the strong help the weak. But the strange thing that I with low-end card 5670 @ 80Mhps was sponsor for other miners, and not >=9000 of rich guys with 5970 sponsored me.

I do not leave hopes someday to see the statistics of the distribution Mhps by clients, which we have already talked a long time ago.

Im a lot less lucky, in slush pool found 9 blocks, but my balance is just shy of 300.
5  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How much bitcoins are you generating? on: February 27, 2011, 01:45:29 PM
Next to nothing (CPU mining).  I guess I might as well stop mining altogether…

Cheers,

join a pool & GPU mine too, something is better than nothing  Huh, dont leave your PC on 24/7 with low mining rates.
