1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: LibertyVPS.net - Offshore Bitcoin VPS - Linux/Windows KVM - Offshore NL (1Gbps) on: April 12, 2015, 02:25:44 AM
Service review

They had made changes to the payment policy without notification, making it impossible for me to pay the way I always have come time of billing cycle.
My service went into a suspended state because of this, in spite of contacting support and getting an address to pay manually to, then paying, all within 24 hours, my service went into a suspended state and was completely wiped.

Important to note the company keeps no backups at all,
and the "Full Site Backup" offered in the cPanel is completely dysfunctional. (says it backups up the Mysql db's but actually doesn't) works fine in my other providers' cPanel so I don't know whats going on with that... also had problems with DNS of other domains just disappearing from their nameservers a few months ago, hopefully this is fixed now.

In summary, if you going to use this provider, take caution to manually make backups in phpmyadmin EVERY DAY. And beware, in my circumstance they wiped my instance within 24 hours of it going into suspended state, regardless of the circumstance. far quicker than any other provider I have ever used.

Otherwise the hardware are of decent quality, when it's reachable.. Network seems to have problems, downtime now and then, and as of writing this their main website servers are completely down lol...

What happened here has nothing to do with racism. Honestly are you surprised that a country won't break the sanctions law just to cater to you?

According to a Pew Research Center survey of 454 media figures, 64 percent “believe that the U.S. government has probably collected data” from their calls and email and eight in 10 believe just being a journalist jumps the chance Uncle Sam is spying on them.

It does not matter if you are journalist or not. Everyone living a five-eyes country in "under surveillance". It is no secret that Intelligence agencies have taps on the telecommunications backbones that siphon off copies of all communications into storage facilities.

You should be take extra precaution when clicking on links these days. Even if you know it's a phishing site. Don't even click it out of curiosity unless you know how to manage what kind of scripts the page is running. So many browser exploits these days. Just look: http://www.cvedetails.com/vulnerability-list.php?vendor_id=53&product_id=6761&version_id=&page=1

Already like a dozen exploits for 2015 alone. If you had an outdated flash and you clicked a suspicious link, it could very well have your PC rooted and you wouldn't even know it.
7  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info strange behavior on: February 07, 2015, 01:14:53 AM
I don't think there is any reason to be suspicious, I made a few transactions with that TOR version today and nothing bad happened. I just noticed that the link only appears when using TOR Browser, but not regular Firefox or Chromium. The real mystery is how did it know I was using TOR Browser? I thought user agent would be same as Firefox but who knows. Maybe server did DNS lookup on the IP or something.
