I would like to come out of the woodworks just to say thank you KikloV.  Been around but lurking since day 1 and holding >10mil coins.  No complaints thusfar and happy with all that you've done and continue to do.

I think a bounty for that would be beneficial and imho trying to integrate with an existing payment gateway would be our best option as it could allow merchants who already accept other cryptos using said gateway to seamlessly accept HOdl.  In regards to finding and accumulating uses for HOdlcoin I don't really think we are in need of a bunch of fancy bells and whistles.  It would be great but adding additional functionality to the code requires lots of time, bounty money, and more forks to implement which I don't think is wise to do in the near future.  HOdlcoin is intended and coded to be a store of value that incentivizes you to choose it as your go-to crypto by rewarding interest for HOdling.  The biggest roadblocks I see for it to be accepted as such are,

1) Liquidity: It doesn't make sense for many people to HOdl a coin and collect interest if they cannot easily turn it into spendable funds or desired goods when needed.

-This can be solved both a healthy combination of marketing to increase demand, re-branding in some way to attempt listing on larger exchanges that bring higher volume, and your suggestion of reaching out to attempt at getting merchants to accept it as payment for goods.  I think the latter is the most desirable because it allows users to skip the annoying step of exchanging their acorns for a more widely acceptable form of currency, but ultimately all are useful and help achieve the same goal.

2)Ease of use: If it is not painfully easy to use the most basic functions of this coin it will be an uphill climb to gain adoption.

-This aspect already has a lot going for it imo. We have a lightning fast network, an almost perfect integrated and optimized miner in our wallet, and a great group of community members both here and in the slack channel to help newcomers get up and HOdling.  That being said there is still a lot we can do.  The first thing that comes to mind is a light wallet that does not require a full blockchain to be synced.  On that same train of thought a mobile wallet implementation with QR code scanning capabilities would be amazing.  Of course both of those require either a skilled community member to contribute their time to do some coding or bounties to hire an outside hand. 

Those are my thoughts on HOdl right now and I would be surprised if i wasn't wrong about something or if I didn't miss an important detail to consider so what are your guys' thoughts on the topic?  I'm sure if we can get a well articulated proposition of actions to take and put it on nutocracy for a vote we can get some exciting new work done to help move HOdl forward!

The purpose of changing the mandatory 1 year term deposit for all mined coins is to make it so miners don't have to wait an entire year for their mining rewards to have any sort of liquidity.  This is a good thing and will give incentive for those with mining equipment to further secure the network.  There was a vote for both shorter mandatory term deposit of mined coins and for getting rid of it all together and the latter had more community support.

Everyone who keeps saying things along the line of "When (insert month here) comes around there will be so many HODL from bonus interest and will flood the market" needs to stop being so ignorant.  People have been HOdling consistently since the conception of this coin.  The generation of HOdlcoin has been designed to be in large from matured deposit bonus rewards at first and slowly transition into mining rewards over the course of 2 years which is exactly what it's doing regardless of the required 1 year mining deposit.  There has been no special event where everyone created a term deposit that matures on the same day to cause a doomsday event like some of you like to fantasize about.  If you are actually worried about this happening, I implore you to look at the charts on the fuzzbawls block explorer to see how the immature deposits are distributed into the future.  http://www.fuzzbawls.pw/explore/HOdlcoin/charts.php

Well I'm certainly not part of any propaganda campaign..when someone comes in and raises issues that I see as false or framed incorrectly I am going to do my best to correct that comment.  I have been following HOdl from almost the beginning and understand/want to support this coin, so I jump in when I feel I can add information to help a doubtful user.  FreeTrade and Samsmith are both devs on the project so of course they are going to defend their work when someone brings up negative and unbacked speculation.  I have no experience with the user "thevictimofuktyranny" but seeing that he/she is a senior member with 448 posts I'm guessing probably not a propaganda artist.

To touch on the "huge amount of coins from TDs", this is simply not an issue either.  There is not a single point in time where all of the term deposits are unlocked..they are all staggered and are continuing to be made.  If you use the resources such as Fuzzbawls block explorer and the charts provided on that site, you can see that there is no huge spike in coin supply like a lot of people have expressed concern about.  You will see a pretty modest curve.  And if you examine the way the bonus interest is set to taper away, you'll find that there is still significant incentive to re-HOdl those funds that have been unlocked by March of 2017.

In Bill's defense he stated beforehand that winning wouldn't guarantee that the coin be listed.  I think it was more to test if voting via slack would be a viable option to determine which new coins have the most interest.  Regardless of all that, we did win the vote and had really good community turnout for the vote so it doesn't make a whole lotta sense that HOdlcoin never got listed.  I think Bill is going to have to see HOdl on a different major exchange before he takes us seriously unfortunately.

That's exactly why the bonus interest is there for 2 years and slowly tapers away.  It gives the user a reason to HOdl on to their coin rather than dumping it.

I personally decide the amount and duration of my term deposits using the interest calculator @ http://hodlcoin.github.io/ and a calendar before I do anything in my wallet so I guess I don't see the purpose of those features for myself, but I'm sure it would make things easier for others who use just the wallet.

What would be the benefit of being able to set the target maturation block? You can already set the deposit duration in number of blocks.  Same question for displaying the maturation block and date..the confirmation dialogue already shows how many blocks and roughly how many days the deposit is for.

The ~5% APR standard rate will not come to an end.  This is a fixed inflation.

The bonus interest rate, however, will decrease to nothing at roughly 2 years after launch. 

Yeah this needs to be done sooner rather than later imo.  My wallet is a damn mess in terms of term deposits and it's very frustrating that the list isn't sortable.

The website is in the works but I don't believe this countdown is indicative of it going live.  There have been a couple attempts by members of the HOdlcoin community(including myself) to create a good website but it just hasn't worked out, so it's looking like a portion of the marketing funds will be used to have it professionally made.  Bittrex Bill seems to have a grudge against HOdl for some reason since we did win that vote on their slack, but once we have the website up, we will have a good shot at getting listed on Poloniex.  I suspect that if HOdl can get listed there and show a consistent volume like it has on yobit, Bill will realize the worth of listing HOdl on trex.  Patience is the name of the game.

Looks like HOdl is recovering nicely now that bitcoin has stabilized somewhat.  Sure would be nice to get on Polo or bittrex as well though.
