1  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GUI mining - now with BFI_INT optimization on: May 18, 2011, 07:38:34 PM
Hello,

I'm running a single 6970 but all I'm getting is 80-80.9 Mhash. Is there some sort of "extra flag" number that I should input to make this go faster?
Thanks

Thanks for the help... turns out I wasn't donating enough!
3  Bitcoin / Mining / Bandwidth? on: February 13, 2011, 03:21:52 PM
How much bandwidth does mining take up? I'm planning on building a bitcoin miner, wondering if bandwidth is a major factor? I share high speed with my roommates. Will their service be affected if I leave my miner on for days on end?

Here's what I happens...

C:\>cd cpu-miner

C:\>CPU-miner>minerd.exe --url=http://mining.bitcoin.cz:8332 --userpass=grizzly.fire:redlake

1 miner threads started, using SHA256 'c' algorithm.
HTTP request failed: The requested URL returned error: 400
json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds

I know how to spell my worker names, I have my mining pool account open on the other tab. I've literally tried this a hundred times, in various combinations.. Ever since I installed this latest version, my puddinpop miner fails to work as well. Sad

I can't seem to figure this out, it's really frustrating.

I got the same thing as dishwara, pretty sure I spelled it right.

try --userpass=worker.ID:pass

Didn't work. I still get the program options menu.

If you have a high end ATI, there is a problem.

Sorry, is this a typo? Whats the problem with a high end ATI card? Or do you mean it's no problem?

So what command line do I write to execute the new program?

I've tried...

minerd -url=mining.bitcoin.cz:8332 -user=XXXX.XXXX -password=XXXXXXX

but all I get is the help options?

is there a way I can change or see the program settings so I don't have to constantly write that in to start the program?

Thanks!

Thanks yrral86 but what exactly do you mean by "run them in the terminal with the right parameters"? My experience with programing is limited.

Are you saying I need to replace a file in the Bitcoin folder? Beyond downloading the program, what step do I have to do get this thing going?

I don't have to worry about electricity here, I live out of a hotel for a living.

I appreciate the help!!

Can someone point me towards a readme file that explains how to install and operate these 'workers' or mining programs? Are they separate from the Bitcoin operating system?

I downloaded jgarzik's CPU Miner, ran the .exe and just get a blank file? I also downloaded puddinpops miner but it didn't work either. I'm running an old Dell Inspiron 1521 laptop. It sucks but it's all I have right now. I plan on getting a new machine in April but would like to get into bitcoins right now. Is it at all possible with my hardware or am I just wasting my time?

Thanks.
