Of course, you are trying to promote Gebbit, so it should be somewhat similar to their site. It doesn't have to be completely similar to gebbit.com though, it just has to look good. I forgot that this was already stated. The escrow process was delayed because devthedev said he would escrow and then became unresponsive. I will adjust the deadline till April 7th because that was the earlier commitment we made. |

Obviously devthedev is not responding so we will have to go with another escrow. Who do people recommend? I feel like there are many people contacting me to escrow who will simply run off with the btc.

Ultimately whatever wallet he is creating will not always be an offline wallet. Unless the wallet will house an ungodly amount of BTC Electrum is the way to go. This is because when it eventually is accessed, it is the easiest one to navigate.

Hi, I'm a bit of a newb with BTC although I've done a bit of research. I've decided to use Kraken as the exchange (first on google rank!) and so I guess they must have some credibility. The bigger question is that of an offline wallet? According to: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet, there are 6 to choose from: Bitcoin Core, Armory, Electrum, mSIGNA, MultiBit, Green Address - all of which have a weakness of some sort. (My general approach for BTC is to just buy a few and hold them. If BTC goes global, I'll be happy, if not, and BTC becomes obsolete, no big loss.) So, let's suppose I chose Electrum, which seems to be one of the easier ones to use. If I download the wallet to a computer, can I then move the BTCs to an external HDD? Or, do I have to store them only on the computer? It's just that I have a netbook I don't use much with Windows 7 starter and thought I could use that. The question is, what happens if the HDD on the netbook fails, do I lose the BTCs? I'm also a bit unclear about BTC addresses? When I buy the the BTCs on Kraken, for example, I have to give an address from my offline wallet? How is the address generated? Thanks in advance. Electrum is by far the best wallet if you are not dealing with a life changing amount of btc. I hope you will consider our service gebbit.com instead of Kraken. We have a much smaller spread and btc payments go to offline wallets allow the site's live wallet to be easily insured. There are tons of other great features like Bulk Orders. |

excuse the delays. The campaign will be open for 10 days from the time that the escrow is completed. Devthedev has agreed to be the escrow but has yet to provide a btc address. I have asked him to post in this thread and provide a btc address. Once I see payment will be sent and will be in escrow.

This seems very scammy. I wouldn't want to call something a scam without evidence but OP can use sites like gebbit.com (plug) and buy Bitcoins for far cheaper. So if he is buying for more the condition must involve you doing a service or providing value somehow that is worth the difference in price or there is something shady. |

He insists that we spent thousands upon thousands to rob him of a couple hundred dollars. However, if you read the linked post you will see that he got caught scamming red handed. Small committed time theft and we have 0 tolerance towards any kind of theft or scamming.

Bitcoin is not deflationary, it's inflationary, currently at a rate of 3600 new coins every day, this value halves every 4 years or so, so eventually around 2140 there will be no more new coins.
Well, yes. OK, that point was cleared up. But my original question was why not increase the rewards over time instead of decreasing as long as the end limit remains the same. It'd give late adopters a reason to opt in? Right, but now you see that why that's not really good, yes? You don't want to reward the later more than you reward the former because you can make a race to be the last in. That would, of course, lead to an absurdity: no one wants to adopt bitcoin first because the later adopters are better rewarded so no one ever adopts it at all. Obviously the better course is to make a race to be the first to adopt and this is the sane thing which happened. You understand this now, yes? The rewards are increased over time. As long as bitcoin doesn't die, the price per reward in real value terms will always get bigger. A good question would be why the rise is not more gradual instead of block halving why does not the nominal btc amount per block decrease every so slightly every block? This is a good question because block halving is a bit dramatic in the sense that overnight the rewards get cut in half dramatically impacting the profitability of miner set ups. |

it's not deflationary. It only is in the sense that, once all bitcoins are mined, they can still be lost.
Right now supply is expanding. And i'm not sure if there will ever be a time when more btc are being lost than generated because people will become much better at backing up their data as everything moves to the cloud.
