1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is The BitMarket.eu Site Down? on: February 16, 2012, 07:49:37 PM
It runs fine for me.
I am doing trades there regularly, but when I once had a problem with someone not releasing the btcs after I made my payment, it took pretty long till the support answered...
2  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trading Bots on: February 10, 2012, 08:26:41 PM
I could code it myself but I just don't have time. I am open to offers so message me if you are interested.

I've got a bot ready, but to be honest, it doesn't perform well all the times... If the market moves up, it's fine Grin, otherwise, you will lose money...
So if you have any trading algo, let me know and I'll implement it for you.

Just to show that I'm not talking shit:

3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Scalping Bitcoin on: February 07, 2012, 06:32:47 AM
Hey all,

Can anyone give me some advice on scalping bitcoin? I keep ending up negative I need a solid strategy.

It's very hard to beat the fees, as there are just small and short differences (at least in the USD markets). In addition to this, the market depth on the smaller exchanges is often very low. So if you take the depositing and withdrawal fees into account (you have to move money around), it is very hard to end up with a win...
4  Local / Suche / Re: kaufe MtGox-Redeem-Codes on: February 03, 2012, 01:14:55 PM
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Paranoia or suspicious trade timing on: January 30, 2012, 03:23:48 PM
It seems like MtGox's api disconnects people at every odd hour, most likely to save bandwidth by closing connections to people who would otherwise just keep the api running 24/7 even while not at the computer.

I wouldn't say it is suspicious on MtGox's part, it is just common knowledge that this happens, thus people take advantage of the opportunity. If anything this issue highlights the inherent problems that come about when everybody relies on a single entity to do all their trading, especially in the case of Bitcoin which is supposed to be decentralized.

This isn't true for my bot.
Often I don't get any more livefeeds after some time, but this happens after 10+ hours. I also don't get disconnected, there is just no more data coming through. If I close the connection and reconnect, it's working for many hours again.
6  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [BETA] MTGox websocket API, testers wanted on: January 21, 2012, 10:07:08 AM
socket.io supports secure connections (https, wss transports). That's what I use in ICBIT trading platform, so I would be quite surprised if that's dangerous Wink

ok, I wasn't aware of that - I just connect to websocket.mtgox.com at port 80.
7  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [BETA] MTGox websocket API, testers wanted on: January 21, 2012, 08:57:16 AM
Is it possible to query my open trades and/or cancel an order or at least all orders? With the websocket API, that is?
Didnt see any hint that this is possible..

But then I dont remember to have ever seen the commands to post orders via websocket neither?

Is the websocket for "reading" only, like making graphs from the data?

edit:
So, get data from the websocket, and exectue/cancel orders via "API version 1" then?

Ente

As far as I know there is no possibility to do orders over the websocket... Would be pretty dangerous too, as it isn't SSL encrypted.
But you can subscribe to your "private channel" to be informed about your orders. Use getKey.php to get its name.

you also can post here, if you want to get whitelisted before time: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=15911.0
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: mtgox code/data/getDepth.php slow on: January 13, 2012, 12:49:31 PM
I noticed that not only getDepth, but all API calls took very long sometimes the last days (more than a minute...).
10  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [BETA] MTGox websocket API, testers wanted on: January 11, 2012, 10:20:27 AM
havent seen the socket.io part fail yet.

How come you say such thing when such sites as:
http://www.btccharts.com/
http://bitcoin.clarkmoody.com/

have a connection but there's no data received, any explanation for this?

I have the same problem using the websocket from my C++/Qt-bot - sometimes, usually after some hours working correctly, there is no more data coming in through the socket (but the connection isn't closed by the remote host).
So I check for incoming data and if there isn't anything for 3 minutes, I close the connection and reconnect. Afterwards it's working without problems again. Strange anyway  Huh
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: January 08, 2012, 09:31:36 AM
I'd also like to be whitelisted, I have got some pretty specific questions/comments about bitcoin trading and the use of the mtgox API that don't belong in the newbies forum.
I own bitcoins for several months so far and have a self developed mtgox trading bot up and running.
Thanks in advance

I store just a small amount of bitcoins at mtgox, as I am afraid I can't withdraw them if needed - or just a small amount of them. Furthermore, it was just a few month ago that they got hacked...
