1  Other / Beginners & Help / Mining with Non-Admin Rights on: October 27, 2011, 04:06:46 AM
I have recently dabbled in mining and find it very interesting.  In fact, I will try to write a proof-of-concept mining application just because I enjoy that kind of thing, but that is beside the point.

I frequently have access to many PCs at my university that I would like to utilize for mining.  They all have decent video cards, however OpenCL isn't installed onto any of the machines.  I don't have administrative rights to these machines so I can't install OpenCL.  This means I can only do CPU mining .... bleh.

Is there a way to utilize the GPU even though I only have user rights?  I suspect not but I figure I would ask here to see if anyone has any type of experience with this sort of thing.

Thanks!
