I pray to get strength to face all of my problems. But, the other people said that praying is the shortcut to success. As a example, there is a person who pray to get rich directly, but for me, I pray to stay strong in my job and work hardly, so I can get rich in my way.

Sounds to me like you are lazy and want things handed to you.  You want strength?  Go work out (physical) or mediate (mental).

Two working hands can accomplish more than a million clasped in prayer.

Very true. Praying to your god or whatever deity is acceptable . Everyone has their own opinions and beliefs. But if you blindly follow any superstition , or ritual that is extremely foolish .  You must not assume so much into something you dont have a proof of that you will take any extreme actions like donating millions of bucks and sacrificing animals and stuff. Yes this does happen.

Military provocations prove Putin is playing with fire

(CNN)Russian President Vladimir Putin is playing a very dangerous game. On July 4, while Americans celebrated Independence Day, a cinematic, tension-filled drama unfolded along America's western skies. In two separate incidents, U.S. fighter jets were scrambled to intercept Russian bombers approaching the country's airspace; first near the California coast, then just outside U.S. airspace over Alaska.

The aircraft's presence was clearly both a warning for the United States, its allies and Russia's neighbors, and also a bit of bravado to please Putin's Russian fans. It is also part of a worrying trend.

http://edition.cnn.com/2015/07/10/opinions/ghitis-putin-playing-with-fire/

Well Russia has revenge US, which US Army did provocation too in Estonian city, near the Russian border when Estonia's Independence Day. Read the full here http://russia-insider.com/en/military/2015/02/25/3851

Good article. Russia has long complained bitterly about NATO expansion, saying that the Cold War defense alliance was a major security threat as it drew closer to Russia’s borders. The anger grew especially passionate after the Baltic states joined in 2004, and Russian President Vladimir Putin cited fears that Ukraine would join NATO when he annexed the Crimean Peninsula in March last year.

3  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: July 12, 2015, 10:25:05 AM
If given a choice to walk away with either Bitcoin or gold of equivalent value, what would you pick?

Asians and Westerners were asked in Taipei in Chinese and English if they would take Bitcoin or gold home with them that day, and the answer might surprise you...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6GiC8dqN9A

We just shot a video outside the Taipei 101 skyscraper area here and gave people a chance to answer if they would walk away with either Bitcoin or gold- and why.

If you were approached and were offered the same deal, would you walk away with Bitcoin or gold in your pocket, and why???

If both of them offer the same value and if the value is equivalent then it doesn't matter what I pick. basically      even if I had to pick one I would take .... bitcoin because in ten years the price will be shooting up in the sky and I might become a millionaire with the mony that bitcoin offers me.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: July 12, 2015, 10:20:22 AM
Lets say I want to buy bitcoins today and store them for 20 years to use a my retirement fund.  Live comfortably, but don't need to buy a yacht or anything.  How many do you think I would need to buy?

I think the more you buy bitcoins, the better. But since you said , not so much money is required as to buy yachts aand mansions buying just three to four bitcoins is enough since in 20 years bitcoins' value will shoot up to the sky. The chances are of you becoming a millionaire with just four to five , dude! If you have financial stability now, I think you should go for it.
5  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Study: Most Americans suffer from ‘Digital Amnesia’ on: July 12, 2015, 10:17:03 AM
I do not think it happens only to the Americans, the citizens of other countries also suffer.

Yes exactly. Everyone who overuse the technology today. Over working using bright screens and staring at it for a long time. It is the reason why so many people suffer from digital amnesia. Also , people now depend on technology so much that they have developed these kinds of disorders that never existed about five to six decades ago. probably the reason is too much dependence on it.
6  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks Suck on: July 12, 2015, 10:07:21 AM
I have often been a victim of the banks' nuisance, when I had important work to do and somehow at some phase, had to rely on their assistance for the completion of my transactions or confirm payments, I visit them and they make me stand in line for so long or sometimes even tell me to come back after an hour as they are on their 'lunch break'. FUCKING KIDS, need a recess so bad. Can't hire different people to work while the others have their break, fucking stupid.

Even I have had similar experiences  with banks. They had me waiting for two hours once. Also I had been treated not so kindly by the workers there. And after waiting for almost about an hour in line just one person was in front of me when they asked us to come back an hour later because it was their lunch time. I felt devastated. That was the moment I started hating on banks.

You ask why rational people try to engage theists into critical thinking, then go on to detail how you, like most atheists, began as a child being conditioned to believe the theist myths of your parents until you discovered the skills of critical thinking and objective reasoning.

So you prove that theists can break their conditioning but then question why we bother trying to free the minds of others who, like us once, were brainwashed.

I was just about to say that too. What a contradictory statement is that. Anyway , I am also an atheist but I do not understand why people ''hate'' each other's culture or anything . Every one has their own opinions and ideas of how life is and the whole God concept. Then why fight about it. And we all don't know the truth anyway.  So how can anyone be so sure enough to fight one another and loathe and criticize each other's way of living?
8  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: July 12, 2015, 09:59:25 AM
Ignorance. They know nothing about it and that allows people to fill the gaps in their knowledge with whatever bias they have. It's also true that all people hear about are Islamic terrorists. Obviously the jihadists represent a very small number of Muslims.

I agree with you. This is so true. People are usually unaware and in oblivion of what is going on. Most people are prejudicial and just assume what the whole community will be like by hearing about nonsense stereotypes which is really sad . The solution to this probblem is by education and respect and appreciation of other people's principles and cultures.
9  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do you people even lift? on: July 11, 2015, 02:47:03 PM
So? Do you even lift? If so explain why.

No, but I exercise daily. What is the use of lifting if you have not gained or increased any strength or performance in a better way? (this does happen to people) .  I'm a girl btw. But I do cardiovascular exercises with strength training and jogging daily.

I am here to just say one thing? Why do YOU hate people? and you should really give a valid reason not a shitty one that says 'Because Jews, Because Christians, Because Atheists'
and Yes, I am a people's person for those who ask, just tell me, come out of your shell and say why you HATE people like myself, and I could be here to clarify things to you, or not...
Also here is something that most muslims mistake about people's person like me is that "Christianity or Buddhism hate other religions" for this I say, Christianity or Buddhism does not hate ANY religion, but they suggest to 'invite' them to Christianity or Buddhism or Judaism, as slowly, and peacefully, even if they refuse, you can try and try, until it's their choice, you stop. and for all the wars that happened, it's because this other religion decided to come into war on Christianity or Buddhism or Judaism.

If you need anything clarified, I may not be here to answer you, don't be scared, I won't be offended by anyone, also haters, you can reply, I won't care Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Cheesy

In other news ->

I just answered another question saying why people hate islam. It is just a big misunderstanding between people. The reasons are multiple, some are caused by ignorance, some by oblivion and some by narrow minded thinking . There are many reasons why this silly conflict has taken place/

I dont think Islam hates people, it is a really silly question . Just another question was saying why people hate Islam. What is that supposed to mean. It is just a misunderstanding between people . Some is caused by ignorance , some by narrow minded thinking, some because of  oblivion. There are multiple reasons why this conflict has arised.

12  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: July 11, 2015, 02:38:02 PM
So I see 2 threads of why islam hates people or why people hate Islam. I dont see the point of such a mundane debate based on religion any debate for or against religion would be stupid. Either you are stupid to believe what a prophet / god / divine entity said or you are stupid enough to believe you can change the minds of the bleak minded people who follow such a prophet / god / divine entity.

But since its fun let me initiate my own brand of 'why do' topic.

WHY DO ATHEISTS (like me) HATE RELIGION ?

Seriously what has to happen in a person's life for them to seriously give up hope on the one true everlasting brand (of religion) which their ancestors have followed for generations.

Everyone has their own story even I have mine, so lets hear some of it.

I am kind of an atheist. I don't believe there is a divine entity controlling the whole universe. I believe in people .  Anyway, my point is that atheists might hate religion because  they think some of the arbitrary rituals and superstitions are really  irrational and unfair. Mostly people who think more scientifically and don't just follow blindly what their families teach them come under atheists group.

There was another question of a different thread which asked why Islam hates people. I don't hate Islam or any religion. I respect everyone's opinions and ideas , it doesn't matter what religion you are in. We are all humans  our motive is to be happy and make others happy too. Barring me, I think that other people only have ignorance and narrow minded thinking , that is the only reason .

14  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Study: Most Americans suffer from ‘Digital Amnesia’ on: July 11, 2015, 02:25:51 PM

Quick, what’s your aunt’s cellphone number? Or your best friend’s from college?

Better yet, tell us what you did on Monday? You may have a tough time remembering because the Internet is wrecking your memory. That’s according to a new study from Kaspersky Lab, which finds Americans can’t commit data to memory because the answers are just a click away.

The term, according to the lab, is called “Digital Amnesia” — the experience of forgetting information that you trust a digital device to store and remember for you.

“The results reveal that the ‘Google Effect’ likely extends beyond online facts to include important personal information,” researchers wrote in the report. “Many consumers are happy to forget, or risk forgetting information they can easily find — or find again online.”

For instance, people 45 and old are more likely to get answers from the web, then write the fact down or choose to forget it once they’ve used it, the survey found.

Ninety-one percent of those surveyed said they use the Internet as an online extension of their brain. Forty-four percent said their smartphone serves as their memory; everything they need to remember is right there in their pocket.

“In many societies, having access to the Internet feels as stable as having access to electricity or running water,” says Dr. Kathryn Mills, with the UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London.

“It would be interesting to explore further whether individuals in places where the Internet is unreliable feel greater need to remember contact details or facts, or have a different perspective on information access.”

http://wtop.com/health/2015/07/study-most-americans-suffer-from-digital-amnesia/

I think the reasons why this happen is that firstly everything is accessible very easily nowadays. People get lazy and they find it much easier to use their smartphones instead of remembering these kind of things. Secondly, it is a fact that our brain slows down when we are indulged in watching tv or using the internet . It is simple. The more you use your brain, the more it's capability to memorize and rationalize and analyze accelerates.

15  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is Becoming a Global Currency on: July 10, 2015, 03:17:59 PM
I'm not sure I would class some of those countries as 'major' ... but there is a general sense now that bitcoins are leaving the USA, and at an accelerating rate.

Yeah , I cant say that bitcoin is becoming a 'global currency' but it sure has emanated and been accepted to a lot of places and is growing at an amazing speed which is an incredible thing. I hope it keeps on spreading and being accepted all over the world soon!
16  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin really save Greece? on: July 10, 2015, 03:16:19 PM
There are serious capital controls implemented in Greece right now:

You can only withdraw €60 from your bank account in one day, and no overseas transfers.
That's insane!

If they'd switch to btc - then there would be no problems with protecting their savings.
I mean, blockchain can't just close and say 'oh no, we aren't working today - come tomorrow' like banks in Greece currently do.

Not really. I don't think Greece can be saved by buying bitcoins anymore. Firstly they dont have enough money to buy it and might not be aware of the opportunities . plus they dont have enough places to spend their bitcoins at even if they buy it and there is a chance that it may be hacked like hell
17  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: July 10, 2015, 03:14:04 PM
I' do both, but take bitcoin over gold simply because I'm a pyschic and I see that in 10 years, Bitcoin would be worth 100million each.

I totally agree with you. I would also choose both but I see more potential in bitcoin and I think it will be way more promising than gold will be. I would invest in both gold and bitcoin but more in bitcoin because in ten years it will be ten times bigger than gold.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much BTC is enough? Do I have enought to be a millionaire soon? on: July 10, 2015, 03:10:31 PM
I have about 120 BTCs, is that enough to be a millionaire soon? How much u got?

We can't really predict if thatt is actually going to happen or take place but there is a high possiblity that you might be very rich after a while. Can not say it will be ''soon'' though . let's seee what happens . All the best to you bro.  I hope soon comes soon enough
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: WTF is happening??? on: July 10, 2015, 03:08:20 PM

20  Other / Politics & Society / Re: YouTube Removes Movie Trailer Questioning Whether People Are Born Gay on: July 10, 2015, 03:06:05 PM

A trailer advertising a scripted movie about homosexuality has been removed by YouTube, with the company claiming that the content violated the platform’s “policy against spam, scams, and commercially deceptive content” — a claim that the filmmaker behind the project is rejecting.

The clip about “Audacity,” which was written and executive produced by evangelist Ray Comfort, was no longer available on YouTube as of Monday morning, with Comfort telling TheBlaze that he suspects that someone at the company “didn’t like what they saw” and removed it.

Comfort, who previously told TheBlaze that the film presents the biblical view of homosexuality, said that someone notified him on Sunday that the trailer — which had already amassed 130,000 views — was no longer available.

“As anyone who makes movies will tell you, the trailer can make or break the film. It creates interest and gets people excited,” Comfort said. “So, we are continually keeping an eye on how many views they get. … we monitor it daily to see how it’s doing.”

He was surprised to see that the clip was no longer available over the weekend.

A message now appears on the defunct trailer that reads, “This video has been removed as a violation of YouTube’s policy against spam, scams, and commercially deceptive content,” but Comfort said that there’s nothing in the clip or the film that comports with that reasoning.

“Watch the two-minute trailer and see if you can find spam, a scam or anything commercially deceptive,” he said, adding that he believes someone at YouTube simply saw the trailer, didn’t agree with its contents and had it removed. “All we want is to be treated fairly.”

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/07/06/youtube-removes-movie-trailer-for-evangelists-film-questioning-whether-people-are-born-gay/

That is so stupid , man . And seriously what is up with these issues of homosexual people . It is just a kind of sexuality , what is the problem of other people. Does it even matter if they are 'born' gay or not. Love is love , it does not see gender, age , looks, wealth. It just happens.
