Any links to further elaborate/explain how I could create reproducible results?

Maybe you could somehow generate the seed based on data accumulated from all the entries, such as the average timestamp.

Also, what charity would you recommend? Are there any big-ish ones that accept bitcoin?

3  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Independent Film Project funded by BTC (Donations Accepted) on: March 02, 2015, 07:13:47 PM
I agree that you need to produce a short clip to show potential donors what you are capable of doing, and this clip really needs to be impressive. I also think you need to come up with a concrete idea for the film, and then fine-tune it depending on your final budget. Donors are going to want to know what it is about (a Bitcoin-themed film might be real attractive to people here), and how it will be distributed. You may further want to rethink your budget. It seems very small unless you're planning on making a short. People will probably want to know how you are going to spend it.

I think the inherent problem is that people don't know if the winner will be drawn fairly. Government lotteries, I believe, usually have big auditing firms watching the process. Perhaps if you made the software open source and somehow made the algorithm that selects the winner reproducible.

You may also build some trust if you gave a portion of the proceeds to charity, the way government lotteries do.
5  Bitcoin / Project Development / [ANN] Help a Bit - Bitcoin Donation App (Beta) on: March 02, 2015, 05:28:38 PM
A few weeks ago I read a thread in this forum about creating software that would facilitate people donating Bitcoins to good causes. So, I wrote Help a Bit. It's a 3D WegGL app that allows you to virtually travel around the world and visit non-profits that take Bitcoin donations on their websites. I got the list of organizations from Bitcoin 101 (http://bitcoin100.org/charities/). The list is small right now (and most of the sites are in North America, with a few in Europe and one in Malaysia), but I will update the globe as organizations adopt Bitcoin.

The app is all open source (https://github.com/pabitel-cc/helpabitapp), and is available at http://helpabitapp.appspot.com/

Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated.
6  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Book release : Blockchain Programming in C# (Part 1) on: March 02, 2015, 05:01:13 PM
Thank you for this.

Once you've finished, you might want to consider creating an ebook out of it. You can put it up on Smashwords with a price of $0 and it will get distributed to most book retailers apart from Amazon.

Can I ask why you haven't made an ebook version?

At least I didn't see one on the Amazon page.

It should be noted that Coinbase will start charging fees after March 30 (https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/articles/1826608-what-are-the-fees-for-using-coinbase-exchange-).
