1  Bitcoin / Legal / Adam Draper Listed 3 BitLicense Revisions: on: April 18, 2015, 02:33:35 PM
This is the list:

  • To limit the information gathering to whatever is already required on a federal level. Why would New York State need more than what is already required of the companies on a federal level?
  • To remove all the duplicate Federal and State regulations that will only double the burden and cost on the companies.
  • A Sandbox of innovation in the financial markets should be created. A place to test out products on a smaller group of people who understand the risks in order to work out the kinks before they hit the mass market and need to burden of regulation.

How many here practice their right to vote?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IBM Rumored to Be Developing Bitcoin Alternative on: March 14, 2015, 05:18:25 AM
I'm just wondering what the pros and cons of such a project can have.  And also what you guys might think on the hurdles and obstacles in implementing it.

Quote

IBM may be looking to further its exploration of bitcoin and blockchain technologies in a way that goes beyond its previously revealed proof of concept ADEPT.

Reuters reports the US-based tech giant is seeking to create a digital cash and payment system for traditional currencies that uses blockchain technologies.

Citing a person familiar with the matter, IBM said the objective is to make traditional payments instantaneous while cutting out traditional intermediaries such as banks and clearing parties.

The article explained:

”The transactions would be in an open ledger of a specific country's currency such as the dollar or euro, said the source, who declined to be identified because of a lack of authorization to discuss the project in public.”

Not surprising at all.
And dont be surprised if Samsung, Microsoft etc will make one too.

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia’s Unexplainable Stand On Bitcoin on: March 13, 2015, 10:44:09 PM
What is the real stand of Russia about Bitcoin?

Are they faking their really stand about it or are Russian authorities really are just divided about Bitcoin?

How can we deal about this 'lawmaker' who is badmouthing bitcoin?

There's no need to explain.
They love the idea of Bitcoin that is why they are acting as if they dont want it.
They will eventually ban it and then they will make something like Bitcoin for them to use.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you buy Bitcoin within the next three months? on: March 13, 2015, 06:57:59 PM
Hi there,

I am doing a survey about Bitcoin and need your help!!!!

My master thesis is about Bitcoin and I investigate behavior related to buy them within the next three months. My idea is based on some physiology behavior theories.

I am specially looking for people who know Bitcoin already.

Please take some time and help me out.

Thank you
Simon

I will but it will really depend on the price.
If someone will sell me low, even the price is at 285, then its a go.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Safer Compared To Other Digital Payment Platforms on: March 13, 2015, 04:16:20 PM
A result of a new survey says that US customers are more confident in transacting bitcoin and considers it safe compared to other online wallets or mobile apps.

Although we are in the most bottom part of the survey, I myself can say that this is a positive thing for us.

As what analysts says, give bitcoin time.

Soon.

Yeah..  That is why we are all here.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe a Japanese looted Mt. Gox on: March 13, 2015, 02:47:13 PM
I was looking at the leaked list of accounts which the supposed Mt. Gox "hacker" posted.

One thing you notice is that SOME of the names are "censored", but the names of Americans, Europeans and Russians do not seem to be censored. Just guessing here, but maybe the "censored" names are all the Japanese names. Why would the hacker remove all the Japanese names, but leave in the foreigner names, unless of course the hacker was Japanese.

Hmmmm....

According to this:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=962803.0

That willy bot, has no activity when Japanese people are sleeping and then went back to work on Japanese working hours and then goes flat on activity again during the Japanese sleeping hours. Maybe you have a point.

Yeah, the location might be in Japan but it doesnt mean that Japanese people are behind it.

it might be them or it might not be them
The incident happened a long time ago but until now there is no suspect of any race.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Third USMS Auction Winners, Still Not Revealed on: March 13, 2015, 02:29:51 PM
I mean, I read it yesterday that one of the winners (3rd) was itBit from New York
http://bitforum.info/t/and-the-third-winner-for-the-usms-auction-is-itbit/400

But two of the big winners still did not reveal themselves
http://bitforum.info/t/third-usms-auction-winners-still-not-revealed/397

I mean, I was following this news since USMS announced that there will be a 3rd auction.

I know that Draper will be there, Silbert's SecondMarket will be there, Pantera Capital will be there.

But as of this moment there is still no official news about the two big winners.

I mean, do they get something when they do not reveal themeselves to the public? For me, if they are a business entity, revealing that they won the auction can actually help them.

The latest was that the BTC were already transferred to each of the winners.

Well revealing there identity would have a positive and negative effects.
Positive: They will become more trust worthy and their reputation will boost.
Negative: They will be prone for attacks

Now, what if they reveal itself and then protect their company securely. To get rid of the negative effects? Right?
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Third Auction For Ulbricht’s Coins, Scheduled on: March 13, 2015, 02:20:26 PM
With the auction of his bitcoin coming:
http://bitforum.info/t/third-auction-for-ulbrichts-coins-scheduled/305

Do you think, Ulbricht can easily get back his coins if he is still running Silk Road right now?

I mean if he will be released right now, and start from the scratch again, how many years will it take to reach the amount of the coins he lost?

Out of the 14 bidders, is there someone outside from Bitcoin-related business?

I think all 14 bidders identities were not also revealed.
12  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Sneak Peek of an Upcoming Exchange - Feedback required on: March 13, 2015, 02:09:44 PM
After months of work we are close to release this product. Those who are interested, may join through the following link. Your feedback is important to us...

www.100bit.co.in/?ref_id=root

100bit.co.in provides a platform to buyers and sellers to directly exchange FIAT and Alt coins with each other against bitcoin. Cost of joining the platform is 0.01 BTC. Exchange cost per trade is 0.001 BTC.

Please note that, right now, we have very low or almost zero volume. Also https is not yet implemented...

To be honest, the interface is poorly set up.

When I look at it, I feel no life.

Bitcoin is life, so you need to put some life on your page.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did ISIS Really Passed On Bitcoin on: March 13, 2015, 01:57:59 PM
Did ISIS Really Passed On Bitcoin

Well, I agree with the former under secretary.

Maybe, they are just stalling the media or giving false news about them making a new currency.

Anyway, if they do use Bitcoin, price shouldve been astronomical by now.

Let them use it if they want.
ISIS will not be here forever. Bitcoin will.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin movies? on: March 13, 2015, 01:49:29 PM
i heard about it only in The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin, which is actually about bitcoin Smiley maybe next version The Fall and Fall of Bitcoin is coming soon?

Non believer! LOL
Anyway, a silk road docu will be coming soon.
Not a movie either but Silk Road is a very interesting story and Bitcoin played a big part of it.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Regulation The End For Bitcoin? on: March 13, 2015, 01:41:50 PM
Is Regulation The End For Bitcoin?

http://bitforum.info/t/is-regulation-the-end-for-bitcoin/396

Maybe bitcoiners doesnt say this out loud but majority of us question ourselves, if Bitcoin will be regulated. Would it be the end?

I mean, if there is a central entity that regulates Bitcoin, do you think that they're regulation would be 'limited' or will they violate a bitcoiners privacy for the sake of 'regulation'?

In the article, it reads the advantages of regulation.

Can you give out negative effects if Bitcoin is regulated?

Didnt you think that this regulation is backed up by other bitcoin loyalist who just want to make a more civilized bitcoin world.
Regulation will not be the end but just a start for bitcoin.
