Nice promo work though OP, reeeaaalll smooth
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any advantages from gambling? on: February 23, 2016, 11:41:02 PM
People gamble for all kinds of reasons

Some love the adrenalin rush and can be addicted to losing as much as winning(that's the scary part, and they usually have no control once they start)

Some people are recreational gamblers and just do it for a little entertainment(they mostly have things under control though anyone can lose control)

Some like me, I love the rush of gambling but I understand the chances of winning in most things are so low that any enjoyment I get is outweighed by the sick feeling you get after you lose. So I stick to things I have an edge in. In my case it's just poker. I know I'm better than most people I play against and can win consistently so I can somewhat enjoy the gambling aspect of it while also fueling my competitive side.

There are some who will always bemoan their luck and actually gamble expecting to lose so when they lose it's like a self-fulfilling prophecy. These are sad cases but to be honest the first 2 and this one are the kinds of people I love playing poker against  Tongue Tongue

Gambling is very dangerous once you start to lose control. So it's very important to have some limits in place for yourself and stick to them no matter what.

So far -0.29 btc With dice 1.2 million bets done.

1.2 million bets done? thats insane, how much time do you spend gambling and how muhc money have you lost and won in total?
I guess you do a ton of quick microbetting otherwise I don't understand how anyone can do 1.2 million rolls. Primedice has an auto roll mode or something?
It's like when I'm in vegas and see those people playing 3 video poker machines at the same time. Just robotic bashing of the buttons. It's past enjoyment at that stage for sure.
If primedice has an auto roll mode, that's really sick. Amazing for primedice though surely lol

Do you only offer NL cash games coaching or also SnGs?
I mainly do SnGs and seem to stay on one level for the past 6 months.

My main area of expertise is cash games but throughout my time as a pro I have played all varieties, including sngs. If you want to tell me more about your history, I could tell you if I can help you. pm me if you want and we'll see what we can arrange

I've won about 85BTC maybe more, playing poker in the last year  Grin
Haven't gambled on anything else where I probably would have lose money lol.
I loooove bitcoins though  Tongue

wow that is a tremendous amount of money.
I've never lost or won anything this big. But that's logical since i am not much of a gambler.

Well for a pro it's nothing tremendous but it certainly helps  Wink
I've played against some guys who tell me they are gambling insane amount on slots. Like winning and losing 100s of BTC in minutes. I wouldn't be going near the slots though. I stick to thing I can have an edge in  Smiley

Well thats about 37,000+ dollars right now, that's pretty crazy, and im not sure he is a pro, he has not mentioned he is, so if he is a regular skilled player, in poker 37k a year is a pretty solid performance if again, you don't do it as a pro but as an amateur in your spare time.

Obviously that is just one poker site, I have made money on other poker sites too(and lost on some also heh but that's part of the variance). So yeah 37k a year as a pro would not be much at all. Smiley

Interesting service. Not sure whether there will be any takers, as many would likely prefer to watch free tutorials etc.

You should probably start with proof that 'DrunkSkunk' is you. Simple confirmation on betcoin chat should do the trick.

Have you got any previous experience in coaching others? Being good/very good player doesn't mean you are a good coach.

Yeah well I would suggest I can provide a better service than a free tutorial. If I didn't think I could provide value I would offer this service.

I can provide proof I'm DrunkSkunk of course.

As for experience, I have done some coaching for a few friends and acquaintances so I don't have a wealth of experience but that's why my price is comparatively low. Anyone I have helped has been grateful and has improved their game though.

Proof to come Smiley

I'm a bit clueless about all of this to be honest but trying to make sense of it. This seems like on the whole it will be good for the BTC price in the short-term at least yeah? Too hard to speculate on how that affects the long term price though I guess?

What is the difference between this and a premium account costing 9.99? How are you able to get it so much cheaper? I don't mean for you to reveal your secret but I wonder how this is legal, is all.

I'd love to see scrabble and backgammon bitcoins games but I know how easy it is for people to cheat on them, which is such a shame and why it probably wouldn't work  Sad

i would be interested into something like this but not with a flat fee. would you consider something like heads up with skype and you keep what you earn or a similar type deal.

if yes pm me if not free bump i guess

Hey mate,

Thanks for your interest. However a deal like that is very hard to analyse in terms of its fairness. It's very much a gambler's suggestion haha and for that I applaud you  Cheesy

But the reality is I think the fairest way is to keep it at a flat fee and the way you have to look at it is that it's an investment in yourself and your own abilities to make money in the future. If my coaching helped increase your winrate by even a small amount it would not take long to recoup the investment. If my coaching turned you from a long time loser to a small winner even that it's worth every penny!

If you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask either here or via pm. Best of luck mate.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling problem on: February 17, 2016, 11:27:50 PM
As a pro poker player most of my adult life I've gambled a lot and seen many people make crazy gambles on all manner of things.
It's very hard to stop if it becomes a problem or even if it doesn't. But if you are someone who is losing a lot through gambling then the most important thing is to seek professional help.
And if that just doesn't work you need to find an outlet where you can gamble with an edge, like in poker. If you're good enough you can make money there while still gambling lol
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much BTC have you gambled? on: February 17, 2016, 11:20:42 PM
I play poker and have gambled lots but luckily I've won more than I lost!  Tongue
19  Economy / Services / Poker Coaching for BTC players. Beginners and long time enthusiasts welcome :) on: February 17, 2016, 09:34:28 PM
Hello there.

Are you new to poker? Have you been playing for a long time but always struggled to win? Maybe you just love the game and would love to make some side money. Who wouldn't!? If so, maybe I can help  Smiley

I have been a poker pro for the last 10 years. I've been through many ups and downs, I've seen almost everything you could imagine in this game. And about a year ago I started playing on the bitcoin sites(namely SWCpoker poker and Betcoin.ag). So I have seen a lot of new players, good and bad there. My name on Betcoin is DrunkSkunk, maybe some of you guys have played with me. Below is a screenshot of my most recent results there.

What can I do to help your game?

Well first off I will need to get an idea of your knowledge and what stage you are at. We can do that via a skype consultation or through email.
Maybe you are struggling preflop and are unsure what hands you should be playing. Maybe certain hands are giving you trouble. I can help you. Maybe it's after the flop where you have most difficulty. I can help you here too. We can do video reviews of your play, I can watch you play and make notes on what I see. You can select some hands that have troubled you and we can discuss them. Maybe there are certain types of players that are hard to play against. I've played against every type of player you could imagine!

I'm sure you can find other coaches out there but most will cost a lot more than me. And amongst other things I do have a wealth of experience to offer. All you need is some enthusiasm to learn and a skype account  Smiley And some money of course  Wink

I will offer a free 20 minute consultation via skype for any interested parties, just send me a pm. If you want any more details feel free to ask.

My rates will be $50/hr the equivalent in BTC at time of posting would be about 0.12BTC/hr. I offer reductions on any bulk purchases. $220 for 5 hours, $380 for 10. The price in bitcoin is subject to change of course.

I'm offering such low rates because I know what it's like to be starting out in poker and wanting to learn so badly. I've seen the prices out there now and it's not cheap. I'm also just starting out as a proper coach(I've helped many players throughout my career and been helped by many more). I can't say I will be the best teacher out there but I can say I will provide you value for money. Just try me out and I think you'll agree.

So as I said, if you are interested at all, just send me a pm and maybe we can work something out. Best of luck at the tables!

Sharing my experience too. All seems pretty legit. I was set up pretty quickly and xiao arranged it all in double quick time. I have a quick question while I am here though. Can I get my stats for amount raked and rb rec'd so far please?
Anyway I must say I'm very happy with the deal and have recommended it to others.
