It's at 156 GH/S. If it isn't around this, you might be on the split chain and should update your client (p2pool still works on the split chain, just more variance).

I think I might write a little "guide" into the code instructing ideal cgminer flags. The current script is something that a threw together really quick.
I'll also add namecoin setup if I have time.

p2pool is really easy to set up, but the instructions aren't always clear. Because of this I wrote a script that automates the installation of p2pool and cgminer. Bitcoin must be already installed. http://u.forre.st/u/axuzbykp/p2pool%20Automator%20v0.52.zipIt walks users through the installation process in a quick, precise manner. It includes the ability to configure the p2pool mining address, add additional cgminer flags, and generates an easily modified .bat file which launches both p2pool and cgminer. -Ranvier

And trust me, pools get DDOS'd quite often. A couple of months ago a MASSIVE DDOS attack was launched that noticeably brought down the difficulty. At one time Slush's Pool, Deepbit, and several others were offline.
With p2pool this wouldn't happen, as there are no servers to DDOS (also, no fees are nice).
Just by 0.02 BTC

Yes! I finally got my first payout. It took awhile due to the bad luck recently, but it is worth the decentralization as well as not paying the fees.

well this isnt working for me... I used to mine about 0.6 btc/day. ive been mining at p2pool for 1.5 days now and still no payment. the console shows 0.28 btc if block found.... so instead of 1.8 btc, i earn 0.28 in the same time? Where does the rest go....?
Variance. The pool has been unlucky for the past 36 hours, and such variance is to be expected for smaller pools. However, tomorrow the pool could find 3 blocks or something. Alternatively, it may not. What matters is that in the long run, you likely earn MORE BTC than other pools due to the lack of fees, even WITH the variance. P.S. My advice would be to be patient and try it out for 3 more days. A block will be found... eventually.

If you don't mind me asking, why is it that shipping costs $6 for one coin?
If the shipping didn't cost so much I might be more inclined to purchase one.

Banks dilute the risk of their investments among their depositors, hence they can afford to charge lower interest rates.
Individuals, on the other hand, gain it all or lose it all.
Additionally, if it is possible to earn 5% annually on a corporate bond or dividends of Verizon stock, why would someone loan you money at the same rate? There is no gain for the massive increase in risk.
P.S. The request in your new thread is much more reasonable. Good job.

1.25% is ridiculous considering the level of risk being taken on such a large loan.

i checked it out. i was happy bc i use dwolla to get money on mtgox and it takes FOREVER (about 7 days, more if theres a holiday) but anyway it says i'm not eligible for the service.
It checks your credit score before allowing you to use the service AFAIK.

Any purchase or transaction involving virtual currency or a virtual product is not eligible for a dispute or arbitration. This includes but is not limited to credits, downloads, PDFs, or mp3s. Wait... doesn't that mean that you CAN'T issue a chargeback, as Dwolla will not hear the dispute? Or am I reading it wrong?
