I too got a trade request from "nicoled"
He/She replied to a bitcoin buy ad in Chicago area. They wanted to do a bank deposit despite the ad clearly saying in person trade for cash. After I reiterated the terms (cash in person) they quickly aborted the trade.

And as was noted earlier in the thread, what about Casascius coins? They too required trust, no?

I was speaking of this in the past tense - blocks already mined.

A friendly bump back from the dead Curious if opinions have changed and whether a market exists today.

You need to use your LAN IP for the HOST (e.g. 192.168.1.xxx) and then the FQDN for the REPORT_HOST on E-X.

No to the first question.
ThomasV has stopped development of electrum-server and is encouraging all to use ElectrumX. The main advantages of ElectrumX are the smaller DB and mainly the much faster sync time if building the db from genesis block. It is literally 100+X faster.

Just looking through logs and saw this post linking to my Electrum DB backups.
I am not updating leveldb as often and shifted more towards RocksDB. Further, with the very short sync time for building the ElectrumX DB (versus the prior python electrum-server) the need for DB downloads is far diminished.
That said, I'll keep posting them every few weeks if that helps.
You're doing a great job It's been a while since i last setup electrumx, but IIRC, your backups did shave a couple of days off my initial sync... It's true the sync time is a lot lower compared to the "old" electrum server, i still think it's still relatively slow, and your backups do help new users Happy to help

Plowed back through (very quickly) to see if there was a working windows binary with support for compressed keys but couldn't find anything.
No reason (especially nowadays) to NOT use compressed keys to save a few bytes.
TIA!
There are some forks that support compressed keys (such as ExploitAgency's), although I've run into CPU / GPU hash mismatch errors when attempting compressed key generation using the modified oclvanitygen. Thanks for the reply - I guess I'll stick with the larger keys to be safe...

Thanks dooglus for the reply. I used the site often but not enough to warrant $7 a month

Noticed CLAM is no longer on presstab.pw. Has dooglus funded that in the past? They want 0.0057 BTC per month...

Saw CLAM is no longer - anyone know who has funded it in the past?

Funds just received.
Proceed with caution as they are still in VERY early stages.
How long did it take and did they add a % to your requested amount as they said they would because of "the delay". I would assume that you would be doing this for everyone who has to wait along time for their purchased amounts in using your service. This should lessen these "delays" from occurring so frequently. Took over 24 hours to receive funds. Nothing added - received the USD amount as confirmed at time of order.

Enough that I am ticked off but not enough to make me lose sleep

Tested with a not insignificant amount today - I am saddened (though not surprised) that after 60+ confirms still no PPUSD in my account.

Finally tested them and 60 confirms and no PPUSD.
AVOID like the plague
