1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BTC buy&sell - best rates from HiRiBi.com on: February 01, 2017, 06:35:56 PM
Thanks for the comment.

Of course we are ready to use escrow at the moment. Because we are new here. No problem.

Once again - we offer very fast and safe exchange. We operate only absolutely clean transactions. In this case it is not a problem for us to pass any checks. We even ready to pay for reasonable escrow services at the moment.

Hey guys, what amounts can you proceed per day?

This will just be an overarching statement to those who have posted here and those who have PMed me about taking over my ventures:
No. I will find suitable people who I know and trust and who I feel are competent to continue them in the right direction.  If your name doesn't come to my mind naturally and you have to pitch the idea yourself, then I obviously don't know/trust you well enough to hand over such ventures.

Quitting is easy... I've done it a thousand times.

Ah, so this isn't the first ponzi you've run? xD

On a more serious note, I do not think pirate is running a ponzi nor a money laundering operation, in case anyone was wondering. Wink

Since you're leaving anyway, no reason to butter me up. Smiley

Anyway, I wish you luck in your travels.  See you in a few months. Tongue

Wasn't me buttering up anyone, only stating my opinion on a rather controversial topic.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I think you're leaving Bitcoin as a major participant or programmer or coder or services developer. The actual bitcoins in your wallet that belong to you, you should get to keep it.

If you can't trust that you will retain it when you move (because your computer or laptop can get lost or compromised) and you can't afford to have it on paper, then the best way would be to send the bitcoins to the people here.

My suggestion is to consolidate it into one (or a few) private address, print that out, and keep it with your passport. You're not going to lose that. You could also just email it to yourself, encrypted of course.

If you just let it go, then of course, no one else will ever have access to the bitcoins, and it will be eaten up or absorbed by the bitcoin economy.

Yes, whatever I don't donate away to people I will keep in cold storage.
I already have some keepsakes like a 10 BTC Casascius silver coin with the extra gold plating.

I am voluntarily donating the coins I hold as a gesture of kindness.  No one is "forcing" me to give them away, so I am keeping the coins I want to keep.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Leaving Bitcoin on: June 08, 2012, 05:49:53 AM
Keep your bitcoins offline. You know, cold storage, paper wallet, whatever. When you're in London, you can sell it there to someone. By that time, you'd double or triple what it was worth.

Or send it to everyone who posted here, divided as you see fit. I'm a nobody, but if you're leaving bitcoin, help a newbie out? (This is how I got twinked in an online game a long time ago, someone was leaving, and I was the lucky Level 1 character in the same area that inherited Level 50 equipment.)

13C7AT4QeW5aafZqHyavamz1Vs3YjY9irV

Thanks.

P.S. I can sign a contract that says "Don't touch my bitcoins until 10 years from now, but we'll split it then when I get back."

Then I will destroy every computer that has the private key after printing it on paper, engrave it on stone or something, then hiding it in a hole. I live in Asia, in a third world country, with a battalion of armed guards/soldiers. I have a wife and a kid, so I'm not going anywhere. Your bitcoins are safe with me.

I am going to distribute all of my bitcoin assets to people I feel helped me get to the position I am at.

Was an announcement necessary?  lol

Yes, it was.  I owe it to the parties involved in the deals I have partaken in and to the shareholders of the GLBSE asset which I co-operate with Smickles.  I can't just get up and leave without letting people know what's happening, why it is, and how I plan to deal with it.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Leaving Bitcoin on: June 08, 2012, 03:27:39 AM
Someone got an ultimatum: ME or the bitmonies. PICK ONE.   Cheesy

No, this decision was made by me and me only.  I was only able to become so involved with bitcoin because my only real work being a part time IT manager and a freelance web developer.  Unfortunately, this is no longer going to be the case, and I felt it best to free myself up to focus on my future.

Leaving Bitcoin

I, Zachary J. Snow, have written this statement on the date of June 5, 2012.  Everything contained within this statement is wholly truthful and accurate.

I have come to realize that I have over extended myself in life.  I recently turned twenty-five (less than a week ago), I have a serious relationship, and my work is now taking me across the country, first to Pittsburgh and later to London.  I can no longer operate in the way that I have.  What this means is that I am leaving bitcoin.  I am going to distribute all of my bitcoin assets to people I feel helped me get to the position I am at.  While this may come at a shock to some, I feel this is the only way forward in my life.  I can't move on until I have tied up the ends which I have left open in this community, and in less than a week, I will be gone on a plane to Washington, D.C. before i go to Pittsburgh.  My humble job in this little city in Idaho allowed me to work what was essentially a second job in bitcoin, but this is no longer practical.  At this point, my way forward has only become clearer, and the way forward, unfortunately, does not involve bitcoin.

At this moment, I have no outstanding debts.  I do have to finalize a few obligations such as my business as part of S²CM and a few private deals I have brokered.  Apart from that, there is nothing else.  Be assured that I will do whatever is in the best interest of those involved in those deals, especially the shareholders of S²CM.

This is not something I have ever wanted to do, but I see no other option at this point in my life.

Few extra grand in my pocket and a wealth of computer hardware knowledge obtained in the past year --> soooo stupid.

Get out before you get eaten alive.

you built some mediocre mining rigs and chatted with a few energy drink addicted college kids who are supported by the successes of their parents for the most part.

not impressed.

Okay then, let's see you do if it it's so easy.

So does anybody know the approx wait time to get in? (And Sub'd)

There are hundreds of people on the wait list.  There's no way to approximate the wait time, but if you just signed up for the wait list, I can assure you it'll be a long time before you get invited.

How do you know?

Well, I'm pretty sure, unless zux0r was lying when he said:
Code:
[6:14 PM] <zux0r> we have hundreds on the list that have been waiting
Also:
Code:
[10:19 PM] <zux0r> nushor[A], sorry, there are hundreds of people ahead of you

Do I sense attitude?

If attitude was sensed, it was not meant to be so, nor would I ever intend to give anyone attitude.

13  Economy / Securities / S² Capital Management: Second Issuance has Ended on: May 27, 2012, 11:06:10 PM
The second issuance of shares for S²CM has ended.  All 250 shares we sold at 2 BTC each, bought all at once by Azelphur, who was kind enough to make a meme regarding his purchase.

I filled out the form to get an invite, I did not get anything via email. That was about 4 days ago.

I have 5 Ghash/s that I would like to try GPUMAX with, I will soon have ~14 Ghash/s total.

Could someone PM me an invite ?

Would there be any other reason that I would not get an invite ?

There are "hundreds of people" on the wait list.  It will be a while before you get invited.
16  Economy / Securities / Re: Can someone explain Pirate Pass Through to me? on: May 22, 2012, 04:31:53 AM
Basically people are finally getting nervous about loosing the BST deposits.

Then why not just withdrawal?

He's saying that people want the returns of pirate and they want an extra layer of security.

>> Don't tie up your cash unless you have to.

What are you doing with your cash/profits that is earning a greater than 7% return each week?

Do you have another project has an even greater return?  Or do you just like to spend money on consumer items?

I cannot think why you would put more into cash than enough to pay the minimum life essentials, if the alternative was to invest money at 7%/week.  I'd not solicit new funds, pay off the original investors, and use my own money.

I don't know, my CPA should know, he should be making more than me right?Huh?

No, in honesty.  Vegas, Fast Cars, Private Islands and Parties... what else?

Don't forget that you're also going to 51% the network and you are running a money laundering service. Wink
18  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust on: May 22, 2012, 02:17:51 AM
PM'd Pirate about withdrawal request, 10 mins later coins are in my wallet. Fassstt Grin Good luck, Pirate!

ppp.... my best is under 30 seconds.

Ditto.

same here Smiley

Pirate was so fast with me, the coins were in my wallet with 144 confirmations before I even asked for them.

It's because he has ESP and he's getting ready to use GPUMAX to 51% the network so he's withholding blocks until he needs the confirmations.  I haven't figured out how to work "ponzi" into this yet, sorry.</conspiracy>
19  Economy / Lending / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust is probably a Ponzi Scheme: A Petition on: May 21, 2012, 11:47:17 PM
It's come to a point now that BS&T has been running for so long now that if it is a ponzi (which I don't think it is) and he is planning on running away with the funds, I'd honestly have to give him credit for being able to put together such a long lasting and elaborate scheme.  Don't get me wrong, I'd still want my money back, but I'd have to say that he had me fooled pretty well if it was a ponzi.

It hasn't really existed that long. Most Ponzi schemes last at least a few months. Genius Funds lasted more than three years.

The point you're trying to make is that... if he's a scammer, then he's a really good scammer?

Gee, thanks splatster!

What I'm saying is that the amount of effort he'd have to put in to be running a ponzi like this would be insane.  Ever for the short period he's been running BS&T, it'd be too much for most to be running a ponzi.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A day in the life of a pirate. on: May 21, 2012, 11:21:36 PM
He doesn't have to run a Ponzi on his own - my guess is still that he "invests" in some Ponzi/pyramid game like MMM. If you read carefully, he never denied that, only that he doesn't Ponzi himself.

You also never denied to being full of, well you get the idea.  A guess is not evidence, nor is it right for people to go running around saying things based on hunches.
