2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ebay Forbids Bitcoin for Payments on: July 19, 2015, 05:05:07 AM
Something like eBay accepting bitcoin would have been like a Bonsai of global adoption. The degree of global spread eBay has would have great for bitcoin advertisement. Hopefully someday they do integrate bitcoin.

Yup that'd have been a major step in promoting bitcoin and making it popular among general masses and populace... eBay accepting bitcoin would have allowed a large number of population a chance to get to know about the bitcoin and bitcoin community and what it would mean to use the e-currency for making their transactions...

Hope such large corporations do someday integrate bitcoin as a method of paying and accepting for their purchases...

i get frustrated by the search limitations

do those limitations change with activity like post limitations or are they standard for all users??

only the wait time changes; decreases as you reach higher ranks...
every time you log in to your account the timer starts... for a newbie it is 360 seconds and it resets every time you search, post or PM n the forum...
If within the waiting window you try to do any of the above things, you get a warning that you're gonna have to wait for that designated period of time and the timer resets again....
This might be the reason that you kept getting 360 sec warnings for 10 minutes...

"How do I get something for nothing?"

"How do I skip work and dedication and go right to the top?"

"Working for something is too hard, can someone show me the shortcut?"

whine whine whine

one can always start day dreaming; or learn hypnotism ...
restlessness, impatience won't get you anywhere... steady approach towards your goal might take a little time but it'd definitely be worth it.

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dark Net Weapons Bust Leads To 17 Arrests and a $80,000 Bitcoin Seizure on: May 19, 2015, 02:30:07 AM
A recent series of busts has shaken the world of dark net weapons commerce. A six-month joint investigation between law enforcement in Australia and the United States, which involved law enforcement going undercover as weapons dealers,  has resulted in 17 arrests internationally.

In September 2014, the US Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) identified a 33-year-old US-based dark net seller of weapons to a “worldwide client base,” according to a press release from the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

These things will not help bitcoin to go mainstream, I also know you can (maybe) do these things also with all the FIAT currencies... but people like to use bitcoin....

Fiat is not as digitally assessable as bitcoin and lots of these deals happen digitally so they have to use bitcoin.
It's no as if they have to use bitcoin since majority of these deals happen digitally; they do so because unlike bank transfers, cash payments; using bitcoins as a method of transaction is way more secure and preferable as it only gives transaction ids, or at the most wallet addresses to third party observers which makes them if not impossible then really difficult to trace back to the owners...
No wonder people try to launder their money through cryptocurrencies.
These kind of acts doesn't strengthen the bitcoin community but become a threat as to whether bitcoin and other similar cryptocurrencies would be allowed to survive...

13  Local / Alt Coins (India) / Re: Trestor - A clear cryptocurrency scam going on all over India on: May 16, 2015, 09:15:40 AM
Sorry, I got you wrong then. I thought you doubted there. We are on the same page here.

I was excited to see a crypto company coming up in India at first, but kinda went sour as I saw their marketing/ product.
It does bug me when I can see that another crypto-scam-news is around the corner from India.

If you have any suggestions on how, as a community, we can address this, I'll be glad to chip in.

It' sad to see that people try this hard to make their scams and ponzi schemes look realistic enough so that people may become their victim instead of just putting an equal effort into creating something that might actually be beneficial for the bitcoin community and play a vital role in developing and enriching the cryptocurrency world through their efforts... Sad

Currently grindabucks isn't available in India...
Are there any plans so as to allow users from India become part of grindabucks community in near future Huh
Thanks

Good luck

tried it... didn't work...
for registering at grindabucks the site requires address, email id and phone number; won't be able to fill them out as address or the number would definitely throw my real residency or country out...
By The Way thanks... atleast you tried to help me.. Smiley

that list should be upgraded, in the way that it list the it list the most profitable campaign in the first spost then the second ecc..., and not how it is right now, it would be easy for everyone to join the best one

and divided for newbie and other members, for example dadice and bit-x should stay in the first 1-2 spots for full members+ and for fullmembers- 777coin should be the first then the others

There is no way to do that as what is 'best' or most profitable depends on the individual's posting habits and rank. Rates are constantly changing and sometimes people even get better deals than stated in the op if they're a quality poster etc.
I think Amph is trying to say that instead of a single list that is given at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0; the list can be categorized in to ones good for newbies, jr. members, full members and so on and on...
-snip-

But what is good for you might not be good for me.
True... The benefits from signature campaigns do indeed depend on the posts that the participating user makes; whether they be constructive or not and hence one campaign may be better for someone and another campaign may be better for another member... It becomes the duty of participating member to carefully analyze campaigns
besides I just wrote what Amph intended in his post so... All is Well Smiley
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unbelievable amount of misinformation about Bitcoin on: May 15, 2015, 02:19:39 PM
well i believe that many of us have their own opinion and we should respect what we believe in

only if those opinions are based on some well established or fundamental data and facts which make them believable... for example people may believe in Gods but thinking that bitcoin or Satoshi Nakamoto is an anagram used by CIA is just off limits...

17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Satoshi still have plans to access his coins? on: May 15, 2015, 02:16:28 PM
If Satoshi would have  wanted to use his bitcoins he would have done so when the cost of bitcoin reached $1200... nevertheless it would have risked his anonymity, also t is based under the assumption that he has 1.5 million bitcoins... what's he gonna do with them if not spend them or utilize them.. keep them as a souvenir... I hardly think so...

I thought 1 million was the most commonly accepted figure for Satoshi's stash.

And how would he have known that $1,200 was the ultimate top?

It's pretty obvious from reading his earliest posts that Satoshi thought Bitcoin could achieve prices much higher than $1,200:

Quote from: satoshi
I would be surprised if 10 years from now we're not using electronic currency in some way, now that we know a way to do it that won't inevitably get dumbed down when the trusted third party gets cold feet...

Quote from: satoshi
Right. Otherwise we couldn't have a finite limit of 21 million coins, because there would always need to be some minimum reward for generating. In a few decades when the reward gets too small, the transaction fee will become the main compensation for nodes. I'm sure that in 20 years there will either be very large (bitcoin) transaction volume or no volume.

Assuming that he's still alive, we know that he definitely witnessed the $33 high in June 2011 and the $265 high in April 2013. He could have cashed out during these peaks but didn't. He probably saw the $1,200 high in November 2013 in much the same way.
That may be a reason...
I think he was optimistic about the growth of Bitcoin as a currency otherwise he wouldn't have created it... and his hard work paid off... as for his plans for accessing the bitcoins when they were $1200... I think he won't do it... otherwise it could be seen as the creator himself selling off a portion or entire possession of bitcoins which could result in loss of confidence in bitcoins by newer members of bitcoin community... moving BTCs through transactions could have worked out great... but who knows what's going on his mind Huh

I dunno why people are so hell bent on proving Bitcoin as a fraudulent currency and supply derogatory misinformation about it. This kind of negative publicity shouldn't be created without hard evidences and proper knowledge about cryptocurrencies... These kind of reports claiming Bitcoin is created to sabotage other global currencies by popular sources of media only calls for their criticism and boycott.

New users and people need to be taught about the meaning, use and benefits of Bitcoin instead of making false allegations as to who created it and why...
