1  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: bitcoinpools.com.... updated 3/28/11 on: March 28, 2011, 05:39:00 PM
I'm going to come out as an asshole for saying this.

Other places where you could've put the same information for free:
Bitcoin Wiki: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Main_Page
A thread in this forum.
Google spreadsheets. You can load json data there too, so the data is not static.
Google sites.
And the list goes on...

The site itself:
Too many fancy shit going on to simply show some data.
No static linking.
Created with those automated webpage creators.
Lacks a lot of information.

The creator also seems like one who wants to cash in on an early product. To me it's as if he is in this for his personal benefit instead of trying to help the community.
But I don't know you and this is merely my opinion, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Suggestions:
Don't use the godaddy wizard bullshit, use a real CMS or do your own if you know how.
Make the links static, if I click the news link I should be redirected to bitcoinpool.com/news. Seriously, people overuse AJAX where it is NOT needed.
More data. Total number of users, date when the pool started, average time to solve a block, etc.
Add reviews. People should be able to review a certain pool. If the site is aimed at people still deciding which pool to pick, then user reviews are the most valuable information to have.
Add general information. Explain what is mining, where to find miners, how to set the up mining in a pool , best/common practices of pool mining, how pools work, why use a pool instead of going solo.

I'm sorry, but I can only see this as an half-assed job. Splattering the donate address everywhere in the site doesn't help you either. You say you need help, but people can't do your job for you. Web hosting static data is practically free these days. I just wish that you could've given a little more effort before putting this out to the public.

Google movetotray or minimize to tray. There are several apps that can minimize any window to the system tray.

First off, I have a huge-ass tower with tons of fans and whatnot, I also have five hard disks so the base wattage is higher than the average PC.
I have 2 GTX470 so hopefully this will give some extra insight.

Base wattage: ~280W, 1 watt fluctuation
1 GPU, base clock: ~375W, 2 watts fluctuation, sometimes goes 10W lower for a split second (when it finds a block?)
1 GPU, overclocked: ~389W, same as above
2 GPU, base clock: ~540W, this one is weird, sometimes it goes ~530W and stays there for several seconds, other time it goes ~550W and stays there, but most of the times it's around 540W, 3 watts flunctuation
2 GPU, overclocked: ~585W, sometimes it likes to go all over the place (I've seen values from 510 to 620 watts)

Here are my khash rates:
1 GPU, base clock     ~77000 khash/sec
1 GPU, overclocked   ~93000 khash/sec
2 GPU, base clock   ~156000 khash/sec
2 GPU, overclocked ~185000 khash/sec

I use diablo miner so I disabled the second GPU in device manager, too much trouble removing a GPU for a 5 minute test...
Overclocking was done using EVGA Precision, didn't touch the memory clock (doesn't seem to make a difference to mining) and raised the core clock value from 607MHz to 755 MHz, something of note: playing games with this clock will crash my system.

I read this thread about 2 or 3 times a day, so I might take a while to answer any of the specifics. I also won't be here today for the whole day (I'm about to leave). I hope this helps anyone.
