1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gaw miners scam or legit on: April 02, 2015, 07:26:04 PM

They actually had 4 periods in their life as a business:
Hardware resellers - legit
Hardware hosts - legit
Cloud hosts - legit for some time until they scrapped it somewhere in December/January. People who still had miners there at that time lost their money, so it turned out to be a failure. Since they didn't reimburse their clients it can be called a scam.
Altcoin developers - I don't even know where to begin. Even if it's not a scam it certainly looks like a failure.

well, the most so called cloud miners are doing the same. The minering is not profitable so how can they offer profit?

If you take a look over this forum, everywhere you will see someone screaming "scam". I don't know GAW but I am just saying that I saw so many fake scam reports here....

So the fact that other cloud mining sites are scams somehow justifies what GAW did? Or did I misunderstand something?

Keep in mind that GAW purchased hardware (Antminer S4), provided cloud mining service to its customers (arguably fractional but that's another story) advertised as "Hashlets are Digital Cloud Miners you own that never expire". Then one day abruptly cancelled it event though the service was still profitable according to their own pricing structure (IIRC daily maintenance fee 0.01 USD per 5 GH/s). There is no excuse for that.

Furthermore, they sold off those Antminers. At the very least they should have compensated their customers with proceeds from that sale.

almost all the so called businesses that are using Bitcoin are closing or "running" with the funds in the end. It's a common thing.
you have to be aware of that and to proceed with attention when you want to "invest".

I have send to them many email with transaction number an never got an aswer, and it's very hard to get in contact with them! I still have all my email and transaction number i write to them and never got an aswer!  But if you like to help me send to thecoin.com an email and say to them I AM STILL AWAITING FOR MY BITCOIN IN THECOIN ACCOUNT...AND STILL I HAVE TRANSACTION I MADE AND WHY AFTER 4 MONTH STILL AWAITING FOR AN ASWER FROM THE ADMIN.... I GET TIRED ABOUT THECOIN..

maybe it's time to use other "coin" than Bitcoin. Try with Paypal and you can get the funds back

ripping people off with dodgy keys and outright not supplying in some cases:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=971637.140

took $50 Skrill from me with promise of BTC, gave me a bunch of excuses to buy time for his dodgy key business and has now deleted me from Skype.

He probably won't be back so this is likely pointless, but if you deal with the name Parikshit/Mridul/Mridul_Beat or indeed anyone selling MS keys for ~$3 then be careful, it may well be him.

email he used for Skrill: Parikshitgupta166@outlook.com

you can request a refund from Skrill.
