1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cold storage/physical bitcoin wallets killing bitcoin economy? on: September 24, 2015, 09:06:46 PM
No it won't kill the economy...it's similar to if you were hoarding a bunch of cash instead of letting it sit in a bank...
I mean it's not exactly the same, considering cash can be made instantly and out of thin air (as "credits" like banks do)
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is just to complicated for the average person to use.. on: April 09, 2015, 03:40:54 AM
The main downside to bitcoin is all of the hacks and scamming. It gives bitcoin a bad name. But then again hacking/scamming is unavoidable as credit card details are often stolen as well. Security will always be an issue as long as people are greedy and feel the need to steal from others.
3  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: STOP GIVING THIS TWITTER USER YOUR MONEY on: April 03, 2015, 12:59:30 AM
Crazy if true. I've seen similar.
4  Other / Politics & Society / Re: DEA agents had sex parties with prostitutes hired by drug cartels on: March 26, 2015, 11:41:45 PM
Lol corrupt DEA agents gettin it on at prostitute parties. I bet they all do crap like this. Recently a few secret service agents were busted for drinking and driving, crashed right into the white house! Nothing surprises me anymore with these pigs.

I think it's not going to be easy for them to enforce the ban. It won't last.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 9% Of Americans 'Puzzled' And 'Confused' on: March 26, 2015, 11:18:21 PM
....After they saw the Bitcoin Logo
http://bitforum.info/t/survey-says-9-of-americans-confused-about-bitcoin-logo/665

Do you think 9% is a little bit too small?
I think if I go to our public market with a bitcoin logo printed in my shirt and ask people around, I might get a 95% or even a hundred.
I dont know where you live but I conducted a small survey here and not a single person know what even bitcoin was.
Same here. Very few people I know in real life have heard of bitcoin, and the ones who have believe it is some evil currency for buying drugs on the deep web Sad They don't see the investment potential or the real uses of bitcoin. More for us I suppose.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will fail, here's why on: March 26, 2015, 10:20:14 PM

8  Other / Off-topic / Re: If BTC goes to $1000 or more, what would you do? on: March 26, 2015, 09:41:48 PM
Now is a pretty good time to buy. It's only going to rise from here unless some major regulation happens.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you name your baby Satoshi for 150 bitcoins? on: March 26, 2015, 09:20:23 PM
I would for 150 bitcoins hell yes. Then change the babies name to something more normal after I get the bitcoins Wink
10  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler's fallacy, does it exist? on: March 26, 2015, 03:27:20 AM
This is pretty interesting. I always thought the chance was the same each play. I guess it's all what you believe / luck.
11  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who is the most powerful politician? on: March 26, 2015, 03:19:49 AM

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there any governments buying cryptos? on: March 26, 2015, 03:13:45 AM

15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: CASH-> BITCOIN. on: March 25, 2015, 08:11:27 PM
localbitcoins, or google "bitcoin atm" they are in a lot of major cities now. You can even try posting a craigslist advertisement saying you are buying bitcoin for cash locally. It has worked for me in the past, just be careful when you meet up. Do it at a public place with free wifi, and be sure to get the coins before you hand over the cash.

If you really want to be as anonymous as possible with it, park down the road and walk to the meeting place (mcdonalds, starbucks etc.) or have a friend drive you. This is to avoid being identified by license plates. However if you aren't worried about anonymity it's much easier.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal President's Bitcoin Fascination on: March 25, 2015, 07:02:10 PM
Paypal would be stupid to NOT take advantage or the profits bitcoin could bring them. Many people want to buy btc with paypal without paying outrageous fees/ risk of scam. If paypal could find a way to make bitcoin transactions non reversible (possibly by requiring a phone confirmation) they surely would profit a ton and it would be great for all of us!
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 2015 The Year? on: March 25, 2015, 05:14:03 PM
I think it will rise in price quite a bit by the end of this year, but it will never reach the $1000 it once was.
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: PP Chargeback on: March 25, 2015, 04:12:03 PM
If a legit account owned sends a paypal gift from their normal pc/broswer/ip, there is no way to chargeback. The only way to chargeback the gift, is to prove that the real account owner did not send the gift payment (unauthorized aka fraud). Many scammers will use a stolen paypal account to send you the gift payment. This is how the gift chargeback always happens.
19  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beware of LocalBitcoins.com on: March 25, 2015, 03:59:05 PM
I was arrested for trading Bitcoins, on Localbitcoins.com, in Colorado.

So far defending myself has cost our family almost $200,000

We can use all the help we can get, please see the fundraising web site put up by my wife Jean:

http://www.burtw.com
It's insane that you got arrested for this. Puts fear into my heart. I've been wanting to get into selling btc for some profit on the side, but it's scary that you could be set up so easily. An undercover could easily mention in the middle of you sending the bitcoins that he uses darknet markets and possibly charge you before you even get a chance to turn him away. They can be so sly and shady, I really hate the regulation and police who have nothing better to do than set up "stings" on localbitcoins.

I would absolutely donate to you if I had some funds to spare. I hope everything works out for you. Your case could decide the future of bitcoin selling and these "stings" being legal or not. If I, by some miracle come accross a large sum of money (win the lottery etc) I will donate to you without a doubt.
