4  Bitcoin / Mining support / 5970 (drivers) crashing after a few hours? on: August 16, 2012, 11:17:28 PM
I have a dual 5970 mining rig, and I use CGminer. I use 800mhz core and 267mhz memory. I don't know what on earth could be the problem... My GPU core temps don't go over 80c and VRMs don't go past 110c.

When I witness the crashing, I notice that the ATI driver goes first, and then CGminer crashes.
5  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Best Pool as of August 2012? on: August 07, 2012, 04:16:31 PM
What do you guys think of MT.Red?
6  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Best Pool as of August 2012? on: August 07, 2012, 02:24:22 PM
I would recommend you use these pools because of their fair payout systems (DGM or PPLNS) that cannot be hopped and because they do not have a mandatory fee.

So they're better than PPS or Score based?  Cheesy

Edit: ozco.in seems to have a 5% fee on PPS.
7  Bitcoin / Pools / Best Pool as of August 2012? on: August 07, 2012, 02:06:23 PM
What's the best pool right now?

BTC Guild does pay per share, which is very profitable, but they charge a 5% fee. Slush's Pool only charges 2%, but lacks some features. I want to hear what you guys think on the topic.  Smiley
8  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Will using only dummy plugs cause problems? on: May 13, 2012, 01:42:31 AM
Thanks for the quick response! I'm on Windows 7 with 11.4. I might just switch to Linux as recently people have been reporting higher hashrates with it.

Edit: I just tried mining without the dummy plug, everything is well, time to try without the monitor.
9  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Will using only dummy plugs cause problems? on: May 13, 2012, 01:34:15 AM
I have 2 5970s on my mining rig, one is using a monitor and one is using a dummy plug. If I removed the monitor, would anything happen? I want to use the monitor for another computer, but don't know what to do. Should I leave it, get a dummy plug, or just unplug the monitor?
10  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] $15 American Express Gift Card on: April 04, 2012, 11:12:58 AM
That's my fee for turning your BTC into cash, but I see your point. How's 3 BTC. BTC is under the $5 value.
11  Economy / Goods / [WTS] $15 American Express Gift Card on: April 03, 2012, 09:29:36 PM
I'm selling an American Express $15 gift card for 3.5 BTC, anyone interested? I'll send you the codes on the card (so you can buy stuff online with it) as well as some photos of the card to prove that this isn't some sort of BS.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitcoin: The Only One of Its Kind on: March 03, 2012, 04:26:32 PM
Is Bitcoin really the only way to make using your computer's power? Folding @ Home is sorta like it, but it's a charity thing with no profit(I guess you can count pride though). Has anyone seen something like Bitcoin mining before?
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Magazine on: February 29, 2012, 04:40:59 PM
Looks very good, I'll grab a copy. Smiley One question though: Is it made with glossy paper or office style paper?
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Something to help win7 users :) on: February 29, 2012, 02:18:41 PM
Why use some sketchy software when it takes 3 minutes to do the exact same thing in Windows?
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 6870 and 5970 on 750 Watt PSU? on: February 24, 2012, 11:43:06 PM
Provided you don't waste power by e.g. by CPU mining Litecoins, easily.
A 5970 shouldn't pull more than 250 W with its memory underclocked.
With 120 W for the rest of the system, the PSU load would be 82,7% - not unreasonable for a high quality PSU such as the ZT 750W.

Make sure that the CPU power save options (such as SpeedStep or C1E) are enabled in the BIOS.

Okay, so I got my 2nd 5970 today, running both @ 820MHz Core/300MHz Memory with the CPU having power savings enabled. No problem with my OCZ ZT 750 Watt handling this, getting 1400mh/s.
Cheesy
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin USD value 6 months from now? on: February 23, 2012, 12:30:21 PM
I'm guessing $7-$11. After the drop in the last few weeks I was worried, but it's going back up at a steady rate this week. Cheesy Anyways, I'll keep mining no matter the price as I pay a fixed power bill. Also, it might go over $10 in Q3 2012 due to the expected block drop from 50 to 25 BTC, this will cause some people to stop mining, lowering the supply, but the demand will be the same so... $$$ Cheesy
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 6870 and 5970 on 750 Watt PSU? on: February 20, 2012, 09:54:16 PM
Self bump. Would my OCZ 750w actually be able to push 2x 5970s at 820MHz Core/300MHz memory? Just confirming.
18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which miner are you using? on: February 20, 2012, 01:52:35 PM
I sold the 6870, so on my 5970 with 820/300, 745Mh/s.
What are your hashrates?

hmmm how did you get 745Mh/s onto the 820/300? with which miner, with what settings? 'couse mine 5970 has only 680 onto this frequency.

CGMinerw with built-in oc
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which miner are you using? on: February 19, 2012, 01:36:40 PM
Just curious, so post the miner you are using. Smiley
I'm on CGMiner with a 5970(820MHz/300MHz) and a 6870(1020/2370).
Currently getting around 1050MH/s.

cgminer but getting no where close to your number Smiley
