2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fuck: SegWit, LN, Blockstream, Core, Adam Back, and GMazwell on: March 27, 2017, 01:43:16 AM

Any dev no matter how smart he says he is shouldn't get to impose anything - you write your code, miners will decide if its ok, I trust them much more than anyone else in the system because their interests are my interests as bitcoin stake holder.

Also with Core being so against HFing, when miners said they will be orphaning blocks of smaller chain, HFing is suddenly ok with Core to change POW. If HF is non avoidable which now seems so, at least choose the sane option.

Let go of your ego and do blocksize increase hardfork (2 or 4 MB) with SegWit and be done with this nonsense.

But why should we be listening to YOUR opinion on who we should trust when you think we shouldn't listen to the people that are actually learning about the technical details of the system "no matter how smart" they are?

Why should be believe its nonsense because YOU say so but the actual people with technical knowledge, expertise, and experience don't agree with you?

And do you claim your argument is scientifically founded, because if you do, then I urge you to bring forth the supporting literature.

You don't need any literature to understand that if someone has 100s of millions invested he thinks real hard about what he will do.

Alex.BTC same here, I agree 100%.

I post rarely but Alexs post got me to also post my stance on this. I don't have any special attachment to any dev team, but I also preferred Core, even now I'm still running Core fullnode. I only want whats best for Bitcoin.

Only bitcoin stake holders and miners (even more so, since their investment is very iliquid they are in it for the long run so to me their interests are sincere, because we want the same thing) should have a say. If they fuck it they fuck themselves, so they will do anything to have Bitcoin succeed.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: February 07, 2017, 10:05:28 AM
It also doesn't work on linux for me (tried on Ubuntu 16.04 and 14.04, reinstalled and upgraded drivers, but no success). Always returns: Segmentation fault (core dumped).
Mining eth with claymore for instance works like a charm on the same rigs.

many people forget that Bitstamp "reserve" it's the client's Bitcoin.

Pretty much this. People forget customer's money is NOT a Bitstamp asset. They have to cover up the losses from their income, which is based on trading fees.

I may add...and not only on trading fees. You cannot make millions from 0.03%. This is like free so they have other source of making money from this biz; maybe the price difference... Smiley

Fees are from 0.4 to 1% at bitstamp (buyer and seller pay from 0.2-0.5%), they generate majority of the profits, check volume and you will see, so they can cover loss with that.

let's not forget that they reported a profit of about 800k USD in 2013....

even we double it because Bitstamp may report fake numbers in order to avoid possible taxes....it's 2 mil USD per year net profit roughly.

we can say they need 2 years to recover the loss (IF they will have the same amount of clients; clients who will run away ones the Bitstamp will open the withdrawals).

in the mean time, they have to open their pockets and hoping that everything will be as in 2014.... very hard to believe that,

Dunno what they reported, but calculate by yourself, accounting tricks exists in this world, also they moved business from slovenian company to uk company in 2013 Smiley

8  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Black Friday Deals 0.409USD/GH/s, FREE International Shipping on: November 30, 2014, 08:27:12 PM
More S1 upgrade kits please!!

you could feasibly use the C1 as a pair of upgrade kits, but its not ideal. Not sure why bitmain isnt selling upgrade kits for ~0.3BTC/kit

How many people would be interested in another S1 upgrade kit batch?

I would be interested in about 150pcs of S1 upgrade kits, but only at price I couldnt resist.

15  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS EU 166x Antminer S1 on: July 30, 2014, 09:45:20 AM
S3 are 0.66 BTC for 440ghs, here you have 200ghs for 0.2 and if your power costs are right you should earn more % than with S3. I will give some rebate for large order but I wont sell for so low price because they will earn more if I just run them myself..

20  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS EU 40x Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 Dual-X on: July 28, 2014, 07:47:30 PM
Selling the last of my farm, which is offline for last few months so I need to get rid of it. Fans on most of the cards need to be replaced.
I can also include the following components for minimal price: Motherboards (Asrock 970 extreme4), Cpu (Sempron 145), Ram (4gb Kingston Hyper-x), hdd (320gb 2.5"), Pci-e molex extenders and custom made aluminium case which can hold 5 cards (https://i.imgur.com/krRTRbJ.jpg). There is no warranty left on any of the components but everything listed here works.

I'm looking for buyer in European Union but if someone is prepared for higher shipping and customs costs then be my guest:)
Price is 100 EUR for 1 card. I would rather sell all at once so if you buy all 40 I give you 8 cases with components listed above to make miners for additional 500 EUR. So 4500 EUR + shipping for everything listed here.
I accept bitcoin directly or via escrow (someone reputable we both agree on). If there is more offers I will accept highest one but I will not sell under prices I listed above.
