Any new leads?

Here's a follow up to my last post on what the different animals/objects in the picture would look like in conway's game of life.

The Game of Life hints have already been used to solve a previous part of the puzzle. We were required to input the rabbit pattern from the gif you mentioned into a provided GoL simulator to get the next clue. Read through this thread to find out how to get into the Let's Talk Bitcoin secret forum - there's more information there.

Take a look at @Coin_Artist's Twitter account - more hints that the solution is steganographic in nature. I think the Baconian Cipher is still our best bet given all the references to Shakespeare throughout this step of the puzzle.

Re: Baconian Cipher, here is what I was able to extract. I used the length of the flames, outer colour of the flames, and inner colour of the flames as A/B for both the inner and outer tracks. I also tried starting from each different flame when decoding. I also tried reversing the flames on the right side of the painting since flipping those flames would make the greek keys (meanders) all be the same orientation.

My results, where each file is a de-duped list of each possible permutation using each different A/B pair:

Let us know if you can find any meaning in the decoded strings!

Has anyone tried the Baconian Cipher as per @Coin_Artist's latest hint on Twitter?

Hmm i think more greek though,
"Gnostic gems with Abraxas also featured the seven rays"

also the only one word that OSpEZtA spells is Topazes

I don't think OSpEZtA is relevant to the puzzle. It's automatically generated by Imgur and can't be customized.

here's all i've come up with

FLAMEN = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flamen   Roman Priests - perhaps links to that poem http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Phoenix_and_the_Turtle
6 ribbons Huh?

7 rays of light = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_rays The face of Taurus "gleams with seven rays of fire

greek keys in the corners

And if we want to get really complicated, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taikyoku_shogi
Ancient Japanese chess that has Phoenix's and Doves oh my!

The seven rays connection seems promising. In particular:

"In early Christian iconography, the dove of the Holy Ghost is often shown with an emanation of seven rays, as is the image of the Madonna, often in conjunction with a dove or doves.[1][21] The Monastery of St. Catherine on Mount Sinai, circa 565 CE, shows the Transfiguration of Christ in the apse mosaic, with "seven rays of light shining from the luminous body of Christ over the apostles Peter, James and John."[4] In the present day Byzantine-style St. Louis Cathedral in Missouri, the center of the sanctuary has an engraved circle with many symbols of the Holy Trinity. The inscription reads: "Radiating from this symbol are seven rays of light representing the seven gifts of the Holy Ghost.""

It fits with the themes of Christian mythology and the trinity. The dove could also be connected through this, as in "the dove of the Holy Ghost is often shown with an emanation of seven rays, as is the image of the Madonna, often in conjunction with a dove or doves".

The squiggles in the corners sort of reminded me of a QR code, so I tried playing with the image, but couldn't get a QR scan off it. Tried overlaying on itself a few ways, squishing it and seeing if anything appeared in the flames, nada. I do think the flames could maybe hold a message. The little squiggly lines on the inside border of the chess board intrigued me, looks almost like an arrow in the upper-left and lower-right corners. The poem "The Phoenix and the Turtle" definitely seems related to the image.

Your QR-code association makes sense. Key and the keyhole are in similar position on the image as is thye position of the asymmetric 4th corner on the usual QR image:

Also, some flames are obscured by the leaves of the ivy, and only with QR code redundancy on partial image damage they can be restored.

I've been working on a similar premise, though it seemed to me that the Phoenix's eye was the alignment helper. While all other eyes in the painting are simple coloured blobs, the Phoenix's eye is extremely dramatic, detailed, and geometric.

Any new leads on this?

I understand that these puzzles are very involved and can be an emotional rollercoaster, but I assure you that I have my priorities straight. I value honor and integrity. I am not making any alternate accounts to post on the thread. I have a pledge to the 1347 (1337) players who have completed the trail that I will not be posting any clues.

My team and I have put a lot of sweat into the development of these puzzles, and I fund them with the few bitcoins I have. I even pay my developers for their contributions. I do this because I believe in the work I do, I believe artists can do something revolutionary with bitcoin. I believe many of us can influence the world for the better.

To anyone who is interested in the puzzle: do your own research. There will be people who are disgruntled for one reason or another. However there are many players who would stand behind me when I say I am an honest person.

Like the rest of us, I'm working for a better tomorrow. Why? Because I care.

Did you REALLY come out of your shell just to address me?

Seriously?

Talking about honesty, do you really think ANYONE with an IQ of more than 10 will actually believe you made a mistake on your last ARG?

Good luck with that, and good night to you.
I am going to bed.

I had enough of your sh*t.

Thanks

What do you hope to accomplish here? You're making a fool of yourself. I've read through your comment history, and you've been wasting our time and your own childishly berating ytcoinartist because you lost the previous game. You honestly believe that not only did they purposely pull the rug out from under you, but that they also attacked your PC - risking jail time in the process? All for under $1,000 USD? It's ridiculous. This is an artist, not a rogue state.

If you don't like the game, don't play it. I think I speak for most of us here when I say how much I appreciate the epic enigma that ytcoinartist and her team have built for us.
