1  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is My Electrian Overcharging on: June 17, 2015, 06:32:45 PM
Not to nitpick here...

Upgrading your service from 100A to 200A will get you only 22kW of total new power, or 17.6kW usable.  Just want to make sure you understand that you're not going to have 24kW available for use out in those sheds, unless of course you don't mind tapping into the original 100A you had in your home already.  You'll need just about 136A out to those sheds to get 24kW of usable power.... this is all assuming you've got 220V service.

Thanks for this! I called him and I misunderstood he is not upgrading my service but rather installing an additional 200 amp service.
Gotcha... an extra 200A will provide you plenty of power.  Now, of course, the question becomes, "how much are you paying for your electricity?".  Hopefully you're getting a good rate, or you're going to charge your brother a boatload for hosting his miners Tongue

I'm a good bro so I'm not charging him anything but he obviously has to pay for his share of the electricity at 10 cents... He has the same amount of miners so we are looking at around 80-90Th and we are planning on solo mining for at least a month and trying our luck. Electrian is coming tomorrow so I'm off to get the shed ready. Lots of work ahead!

Should I mess with my miner diff? Will it help somehow? Can someone explain the whole diff thing and if it makes sense to adjust? I have 30 sp20's if that matters. Thanks.

Does this pool work with west hash? I'm on the pool verifier and it won't verify this pool.

Edit: I've tried entering in my pool and user info 10 times and still says bad pool. Tried on nice hash too. Can someone using this service help out? How did the pool url look exactly? Is there something I'm missing

Just did the math:

You would have exactly a 0.000000000082930% chance of hitting a block over a 1 year period running at 99.999% efficiency 24/7 (assuming difficulty remains static)

*And yeah, that's fraction of a single percent!

:-P
What would the math be with 17th?

Just pointed 13 of my sp20's at this pool. Man it must be such a rush to hit a block! I'll leave these miners on solo for at least a month... Thanks for the pool Ck and Kano!
